And fans of the New York brand - famous for its matcha creations - are already desperate to give it a try.

Customers can head in from tomorrow
Cafe bosses say the launch follows growing demand from locals after the runaway success of its Edinburgh debut earlier this year.
The bright and airy new store, located in the heart of Glasgow's city centre on Gordon Street, opens just in time for customers to enjoy the brand's newly launched Spring menu.
It includes the likes of the sweet Strawberry Shortcake Matcha and Rhubarb and Custard Matcha.
Alongside the new seasonal flavours, customers can also get their
hands on Blank Street's viral classics, such as the White Chocolate Matcha and Blueberry Matcha.
And there will also be the classics, like a speciality cold brew or flat white.
Blank Street's popularity extends from its roots in New
York to London, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, and now Glasgow.
Ignacio Llado, Co-Founder at Blank Street, said: 'We couldn't be more excited to bring Blank Street to our second Scottish city, following the overwhelming response to our arrival in the capital of Edinburgh.
"At Blank Street we believe that life is about finding joy in the
everyday, and we can't wait to continue this with our new Glasgow opening.'
The Gordon Street store opens at 8am tomorrow.
And one fan said: "Most exciting thing to happen to Glasgow in a while."
Meanwhile, another commented: "So happy Glasgow finally has a Blank Street. It's about time."
Blank Street has only been on the go for five years.
Scottish Cafe Closes Its Doors After Five Years
In August 2020, the brand launched its first store, a tiny coffee cart in the garden of a Brooklyn diner.
Today, they have 42 stores across the US and UK.

Clintons is pulling down the shutters on its branch in the Middleton Grange Shopping Centre, Hartlepool, in a matter of weeks. The branch has also reportedly launched a closing down sale with up to 30% off stock. Shoppers and locals reacting to the closure on Facebook have branded Hartlepool a "ghost town". The closure comes after Clintons shut a string of shops across the UK. A branch shut in Keighley in June with stock reduced by up to 20%, while two others closed in Halifax and Andover in April. Clintons, now owned by Pillarbox Designs, the parent company of Cardzone, warned of further closures in April due to rising employer National Insurance contributions and the national minimum wage. The rate of employer NICs was hiked from 13.8% to 15% and the threshold at which they are paid lowered from £9,100 to £5,000 in April. The national minimum wage was also increased by up to £12.21 a hour. The warning came despite Clintons posting a return to profits in its latest results, with a pre-tax profit of £8million for the year ending June 29, 2024. A statement from the retailer in April said: "The high street continues to be unpredictable and the company is seeing reduced footfall in the stores year on year. Britain's retail apocalypse: why your favourite stores KEEP closing down "The company continues to monitor the performance of the existing estate and to close the poor performing stores, which, whilst impacting on turnover, should improve profitability moving forwards." Clintons currently operates over 160 stores in the UK but at one point boasted more than 1,000. In 2023, it announced plans to close 38 of its then 225 stores to the loss of over 300 jobs. Clintons was contacted for comment. Trouble on the high street It is no secret the high street has struggled in recent years, due to a combination of factors. Shoppers are buying online considerably more than they were before, while retailers have faced higher rental, wage and energy costs. Some big names have announced mass store closures in 2025, including Poundland, Hobbycraft and The Original Factory Shop. The Centre for Retail Research says the sector has been going through a "permacrisis" since the 2008 financial crash. Figures from the Centre also show 34 retail companies operating multiple stores stopped trading in 2024, leading to the closure of 7,537 shops. Businesses have cautioned more closures are to be expected this year as well due to the hike to employer NICs and staff wages. RETAIL PAIN IN 2025 The British Retail Consortium predicted that the Treasury's hike to employer NICs will cost the retail sector £2.3billion. Research by the British Chambers of Commerce showed that more than half of companies planned to raise prices by early April. A survey of more than 4,800 firms also found that 55% expect prices to increase in the next three months, up from 39% in a similar poll conducted in the latter half of 2024. Three-quarters of companies cited the cost of employing people as their primary financial pressure. The Centre for Retail Research (CRR) has also warned that around 17,350 retail sites are expected to shut down this year. It comes on the back of a tough 2024 when 13,000 shops closed their doors for good, already a 28% increase on the previous year. Professor Joshua Bamfield, director of the CRR said: "The results for 2024 show that although the outcomes for store closures overall were not as poor as in either 2020 or 2022, they are still disconcerting, with worse set to come in 2025." Professor Bamfield has also warned of a bleak outlook for 2025, predicting that as many as 202,000 jobs could be lost in the sector. "By increasing both the costs of running stores and the costs on each consumer's household it is highly likely that we will see retail job losses eclipse the height of the pandemic in 2020. The help comes via the Household Support Fund (HSF) which is worth £742million and has been shared between councils in England. Wealden District Council has opened applications for residents - and free cash worth £200 is up for grabs. To qualify, you need to be aged 18 or older, living in the Wealden District Council Local Authority area and be receiving one of four benefits: Universal Credit (that also includes the Housing Costs element) Housing Benefit Council Tax Reduction an SMI (severe mental impairment) exemption and would therefore otherwise be entitled to a Council Tax Reduction You can only apply for one of the £200 payments now if you meet the criteria above and did not receive help through the previous round of HSF, which ran from October 2024 to March this year. Only one application can be made per household and will be paid into your bank account within 14 days of a successful claim. Further details on how to apply can be found via This funding comes as part of phase one of Wealden District Council's allotment of its share of the current round of HSF. The second phase will be held between October 1 and March 31, 2026, when anyone who received help in the previous round of HSF can apply for a £200 payment. The same eligibility criteria for phase one will apply to phase two. Three key benefits that YOU could be missing out on, and one even gives you a free TV Licence What about if I don't live in Wealden? You may be eligible to get support through the HSF if you don't live in Wealden. However, it depends on where you live. This is because each council sets it own eligibility criteria. However, the Household Support Fund, which was first established in 2021, is designed to help those on low incomes, benefits or classed as vulnerable. So, if you fit into any of these three categories, the chances are you will qualify for support. The best thing to do is visit your local council's website where most have a page dedicated to the Household Support Fund. Or, you can contact your local council's customer service helpline to inquire. The latest round of Household Support Fund runs until March 31, 2026, and some councils have already opened up for applications. Households in Birmingham are being urged to apply for £200 payments. Meanwhile, low income households in North Northamptonshire can apply for supermarket vouchers worth up to £320. Other help if you're on a low income It's worth checking if you're eligible for benefits if you haven't already - it could boost your bank balance by thousands of pounds a year. If you're struggling with the cost of food, check where your nearest food bank is. The Trussell Trust has hundreds of food banks across the UK, and you can find your nearest one here - The Trust's food banks issue emergency parcels to people who cannot afford to cover costs themselves. Meanwhile, if you have fallen behind on your energy bills, you might be able to get a grant to wipe any debt. British Gas and Octopus Energy, the UK's two biggest energy firms, both run schemes offering customers grants worth up to £2,000.
