What is John Cena's record at WrestleMania? A year-by-year recap
John Cena is planning to leave WWE after one final run in 2025, and on Sunday night he'll have a chance to cap off his legendary career by winning the Undisputed WWE Championship from Cody Rhodes in Night 2 of WrestleMania 41.
Cena is currently a 16-time World Champion in WWE, matching Ric Flair's all-time record - and if Cena's WrestleMania history is any indicator, he could break that record this weekend.
Let's take a look back at every match Cena's had at WWE WrestleMania, starting with his Mania debut in 2004. Cena has a 10-6 record overall in 16 WrestleMania appearances - but three of those losses have come in recent years as Cena transitioned to a part-time schedule. At his peak, Cena was nearly unbeatable at the Showcase of the Immortals.
This was Cena's first championship in WWE, and was the first time the United States Championship was contested at a WrestleMania. He would go on to hold the title for much of 2004, before entering the main event scene at the 2005 Royal Rumble.
Cena had to win a No. 1 contender tournament for the right to face JBL, and went on to win his first world title.
This was Cena's first WrestleMania main event.
In his second consecutive main event, Cena made one of his grandest entrances.
Cena's first WrestleMania loss came in the year he made his shock return from injury and won the Royal Rumble at Madison Square Garden.
Cena became a nine-time World Champion with this win.
A shocking result that set up Cena's "Once In a Lifetime" match against The Rock. After a double count-out, The Rock - who was "hosting" the event - restarted the match and later hit Cena with a Rock Bottom, allowing The Miz to score the pinfall and keep his title.
In a stellar match with a ton of near-falls, Cena tried to hit The People's Elbow on The Rock, only to eat a Rock Bottom and the loss.
Twice in a Lifetime? This match occurred after Cena won the Royal Rumble and The Rock shocked CM Punk, ending his 400+ day reign.
Largely remembered as "the one where Rusev came to the ring on a tank."
In a match that happened probably a decade too late, The Undertaker squashed Cena in a match that didn't even last three minutes.

Jelly Roll Lands A New Bestseller With Some Help From ‘American Idol'
Jelly Roll's 'Unpretty' debuts in the top 10 after American Idol duet with winner Jamal Roberts ... More while fellow single "Liar" also soars. CLEVELAND, OHIO - AUGUST 3: Jelly Roll performs during WWE SummerSlam 2024 at Cleveland Browns Stadium on August 3, 2024 in Cleveland, Ohio. (Photo) Jelly Roll's latest album Beautifully Broken has already spent months on the Billboard charts, and fans are still heavily consuming the country and rock project. The full-length earns a bit of a boost this week after the multi-genre singer-songwriter appeared on American Idol and dueted with Jamal Roberts, who went on to win the twenty-third iteration of the reality staple. The two musicians delivered collaborative renditions of two of Jelly Roll's tracks from his latest release, and thanks to that high-profile performance, one of the featured tunes has become yet another top 10 hit for the Grammy-nominated superstar. 'Unpretty' launches on a pair of Billboard rankings this frame. The track, taken from Beautifully Broken but which has not yet been pushed as a proper single, debuts at No. 8 on the Rock Digital Song Sales chart. That new placement gives Jelly Roll his fourteenth career top 10 showing on that list. The same cut has been classified by Billboard as both rock and country, qualifying it for not only the Rock Digital Song Sales chart, but also the Country Digital Song Sales tally. That second list is a bit more competitive this time around, so Jelly settles for launching the track at No. 12, collecting his twenty-third career appearance in the process. In both instances, 'Unpretty' earns the third-highest debut on the two charts. On the rock side, Jelly lands behind 'God Is a Weapon' by Falling in Reverse and Marilyn Manson (No. 4) and 'Let You Fade' by Linkin Park (No. 6). Over on the country list, American Idol season 23 runner-up John Foster debuts in second place with 'Tell That Angel I Love Her,' while 'What I Want' by Morgan Wallen and Tate McRae kicks off its run at No. 10. Jelly Roll and Roberts paired 'Unpretty' with 'Liar,' which was released last summer as a single from Beautifully Broken. That track rejoins the Country Digital Song Sales tally at No. 3 and rises to the runner-up spot on the rock-only list. Sales of 'Unpretty' grew by more than 1,800% from one week to the next, according to Luminate, and that gain is tied directly to American Idol. Purchases of 'Liar,' while greater, increased by just under 200% during the same timeframe.
