Brighton & Hove Albion sign Japanese international defender Minami
Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the signing of experienced Japanese international defender Moeka Minami. WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Seagulls this morning. Advertisement The 26-year-old joins Brighton & Hove Albion off the back of a three-year spell with Italian Serie A Femminile eBay club AS Roma. Minami won two league titles, two Supercoppa Italianas and the Coppa Italia with The Yellow and Reds. Minami has a wealth of experience at international level. She has been capped by Japan on 61 occasions and has scored five goals for her country. She has featured for Nadeshiko at the FIFA Women's World Cups in 2019 and 2023 along with the latest Olympic Games. After adding Minami to his squad, Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Dario Vidošić said 'It's great to welcome Moeka to the club. She has got vast experience both for her country and in Europe with Roma and she will be an exciting addition to our squad. 'We are looking forward to helping her settle into a new environment and to working with her ahead of the new season.' Minami is Brighton & Hove Albion's first signing of the summer transfer window. The Seagulls are expected to add several new faces to their squad this summer.

Man City given extra North Stand motivation ahead of expected opening
As Pep Guardiola and his players look to make progress in the United States, work is ongoing to make sure the Blues are ready for the new season at the Etihad. This week the roof of the North Stand started to come down as the club looks to ensure it can be taken down in time to allow the pitch to be laid in time for the new season. Advertisement City do not play at home on the opening Premier League weekend so they may have extra time to get it ready for the visit of Tottenham, but a club that has already handed over over £1m in fines for being late onto the pitch last season do not want to give any other reason for them to be punished. That makes it essential that the Blues do the construction they need to do this summer on the North Stand ahead of their August start date. In terms of when the top tier will be ready with its 6,000 extra seats, that is less fixed. The expectation has been that test events will be able to start in early 2026, which will then build towards a full 61,000-capacity. It will be ready when it's ready, and everyone can go from there. The fixture list has thrown up an extra incentive for those involved to make sure the development is on time though. While City play the majority of the bigger clubs at home earlier in the season, April 18 stands out for the visit of Arsenal. City used the full power of the Etihad to overpower Mikel Arteta's side in a title decider in April 2023, and it was also one of the most raucous matches at the Etihad last year in an intense 2-2 draw. Having an additional 6,000 fans in the ground would certainly give City something extra in a season where they and the Gunners will be looking to put up better challenges for the title. There's also the last game of the season at home against Aston Villa, throwing up memories of the famous comeback in 2022. City would rather not be in such a dramatic situation again, but if they are then those extra one per cents could make the difference. Rangers takeover chief in Club 1872 summit as fan group break silence on key issues
Rangers chairman Andrew Cavenagh has held constructive talks with fan group Club 1872. The shareholders grouping revealed they had been granted a sitdown with the American pharmaceutical tycoon who spearheaded the recent takeover at Ibrox. They went to war with Rangers chiefs over their decision to participate in the Sydney Super Cup in Australia against rivals Celtic. The Ibrox club accused the of embarking on "propaganda war" but in the end they withdrew from the friendly Down Under over a wider supporter backlash. Advertisement Club 1872 have five per cent shareholding in the club and their ultimate aim is to have official representation at board level - but that is not on the table for the new regime. But they could still have a part to play in the new era as talks get set to continue and a statement read: "Club 1872 is pleased to announce that we held a very positive meeting with new Rangers Chairman and lead consortium member, Andrew Cavenagh and chief executive, Patrick Stewart [on Monday]. "Since John Bennett became chairman in April 2023, Club 1872 has been meeting regularly with Rangers to find a way forward on a proposed funding model which would fit with the club's strategy and allow renewed investment directly to the club for shares as well as funding key heritage projects of significance to the Rangers support. "At each stage of those discussions, progress was made but then delayed by the regularly fluctuating situation with the senior leadership of the club. We have met with three different chairmen and two different chief executives over that time. Advertisement "We sincerely apologise to contributors for our relative silence during this time but we were dealing with those regular changes to the senior decision makers at the club and were mindful of confidentiality considerations and sensitivities in that ever changing landscape - particularly in recent months with a live takeover in play. A general View of Ibrox "We welcome this early opportunity to speak to Andrew Cavenagh and outline our funding proposal, the significant funds we have available to invest and to gain an understanding of the priorities of the new owners. "We also had the opportunity to discuss the upcoming EGM, the change in the company structure and the investment strategy of our new owners going forward. Advertisement "It is our intention to find a way in which Club 1872 can fit into that strategy that all parties are comfortable with and we were encouraged by our initial talks in that regard. "We will now continue those discussions with a view to presenting a proposal to contributors for their consideration in due course. In the meantime we will shortly publish our poll for the upcoming EGM."
