Missing man's family fear the worst after opening letter with 3 disturbing words
A missing man's family now fear he is dead after receiving a terrifying letter claiming to know where he is buried.
Ricky Harris was last seen on CCTV at around 2.20pm on Saturday, November 18, 2023. The footage, taken from near his flat at Maes-Y-Deri, Aberaman, was captured just hours after his aunt, Nina Harris, dropped him home from a friend's house.
Now his family say they were given a letter which alleges that 31-year-old Ricky has been murdered and 'buried under gravel'.The letter was not intended for Ricky's family but was passed on by someone who felt they had a 'right to know', his aunt Nina claimed.
The letter, seen by Wales Online, was received just short of a year ago, but she claims, despite passing it on to police, officers didn't take it seriously.
Nina said: 'We've had this letter for the last 10 months but the police have ignored it. When I read it my heart sank. Seeing it written down is more than a verbal rumour.
"The police said they would speak to [the person referred to in the letter] but that [they were unable] to speak to them. At first we had a little bit of hope, but we are speaking out now because it has been so long since we received the letter.
'I'm not just going to sit back and leave him missing, I want him found. I have been constantly ringing for updates and I'm sick of calling 101, I'm sick of arguing with the police. It's a shambles.'
She added that his family is concerned that officers had not yet obtained permission to access Ricky's social media accounts to check for potential evidence.
She said: 'It's been 20 months now and they haven't even looked into Ricky's Facebook account. I know this because they told me.
'If someone is [being investigated] for a drugs offence the first thing they do is get on their Facebook account but when someone is missing, why not? They don't know what messages he sent or received before he went missing. That should have been done at the very beginning."
Recalling the last time she saw Ricky, she said: 'That day I just knew something wasn't right. When you know someone and know their ways, you can just tell.
'It is very out of character for Ricky to go missing; he doesn't go and wander, he is a home bird. A week before he had pneumonia and they took a litre of fluid off his lungs. On the Monday before he went missing he signed himself out of hospital.
'[At the time] the police said he could have walked off and collapsed somewhere, but if that happened, he would have likely been found now. They said we need to keep all options open and not just assume he is dead.'
Nina said the family also continue to be tormented by prank calls and 'twisted' people using fake social media accounts claiming to be withholding information about Ricky's whereabouts.
She said as a family they believe he is dead, and fear he has been 'murdered'.
She said: 'It's devastating as a family and we believe the outcome [is that he is dead] but he deserves to have a proper funeral. I'm still awake until silly times in the morning. I wake up and I can't get it out of my head. It's just crazy.
'You think of all sorts, did he suffer? Was it sudden? Someone evil knows something and they're not speaking up.'
She added: 'He is so missed and loved it is unreal, it's heartbreaking and cruel. At the end of the day he's someone's son and he's my nephew, and I'll do anything I've got to do to find him.'
Detective Inspector Owain Morris said: ' South Wales Police is actively pursuing a detailed and comprehensive investigation into the disappearance of Ricky Harris.
'Since Ricky's disappearance, we have conducted extensive searches utilising our Specialist Search officers, which includes specialised units such as the dive team, dog scent teams, and support from the police helicopter and drone teams.
"The investigation has reached beyond local boundaries, with inquiries extending as far as North Wales.
'Officers are continually reviewing any new information that emerges, ensuring that all leads are thoroughly examined. Every reported sighting and tip-off from the public has been diligently followed up, and all practical and reasonable physical search opportunities have been explored to the best of their capabilities.
"This includes thorough examinations of numerous locations, such as rivers, waterways, and areas of dense vegetation.
'I would like to emphasise that the investigation remains ongoing, and we are committed in our efforts to locate Ricky. Ricky's family have been kept updated on all developments related to the search for him.'

Mystery of Brit dad found dead in pool of blood with phone missing in Thailand as even ex-cop left baffled by case
Neighbours called the cops when a foul smell emerged from his home DEATH RIDDLE Mystery of Brit dad found dead in pool of blood with phone missing in Thailand as even ex-cop left baffled by case Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A GRIEVING father has been left frustrated and heartbroken after his former British kickboxing champion son died in mysterious circumstances in Thailand. Offshore oil rig supervisor Steven Russell, 45, was found dead at home in Dumrongsuk Village, northeast of Bangkok, just before Christmas. That's because a Thai police probe, a UK coroner's inquest, and an investigation by a former cop all could not find a cause. John said he's now been left "desensitised" after having to deal with the grisly details of his son's death. He told The Sun: "From the photographs, he [Steven] was laying on a settee covered with a blanket, and the blanket was soaked in blood, on the floor was obviously dry blood. "He'd been there for at least three days." Steven's body was found after neighbours raised the alarm on December 22. They alerted the village headman and the police. Upon arrival, the house was locked from the inside, preventing entry. Rescue workers were called to get inside the house, and Steven was found lying on his back, covered with a blanket, on the sofa in the living room. Brit doctors in January were unable to confirm how he had died when his body was brought back to the UK for a formal coroner's probe. New CCTV of Brit 'mule' Bella May Culley 'smuggling £200k of cannabis' released as cops slam her claims she was coerced John said he believed it was unlikely that Steven's death had been caused by some traumatic and violent event. He said: "There was no signs of anyone breaking in. "And the autopsy said that all his organs were normal, they were healthy, there was no signs of any traumas, you know, no punctures in the skin. "All I'm saying is there's like an open verdict in my mind. I can't even, if someone asked me, 'why do you think you died', the answer is 'I don't know', and I don't know whether we'll ever know." 8 Dumrongsuk Village is found in Pak Thong Chai district, northeast of Bangkok Credit: Alamy 8 Pak Thong Chai is home to 215 villages and is known for producing silk Credit: Alamy But, the father said that nothing could be ruled out - even poisoning. "The only thing we couldn't prove is if he'd been poisoned. "No way to prove it. Having said that, he was laying on a settee, he was covered up. "If you were in pain, would you have gotten up or would you have just laid there? Again, I don't know." The family has now been left trying to track down Steve's last moments to figure out what led up to his death. "What we're trying to do is put together everything, you know, to do with Facebook messages and everything, you know, to try and button that up. 8 Steven lived in a town northeast of Bangkok Credit: John Russell 8 John said his son Steven, was a devoted dad Credit: John Russell "One of the hardest things was, I paid to have all his possessions sent back, and when I got them there was nothing there... we believe he had an iPhone, and we never got that back..." They're now trying to get access to Steven's social media accounts and speak to all his pals to see when he last messaged. Due to the condition of Steven's body, they believe he was dead for several days before being found. John said: "So obviously he died before the 22nd, probably around the 19th." Determining when Steven died could be important to trying to figure out how he died. The inquest into Steven's death was held at the Norfolk Coroner's Court in January. Dr Laszlo Igali, histopathologist, said the medical cause of death could not be ascertained, according to Norwich Evening News. A hearing in June again gave an open verdict on the cause of his death. John slammed Thai cops who had been unhelpful in every aspect of Steven's death. "I got a message on Messenger on the 22nd of December, saying, 'sorry for your loss.' And I wrote back and said, 'what do you mean?' "And the person came back and said, 'didn't you know Stephen died?' And that's how I found out." The grandfather has also paid tribute to his son, saying he was an incredibly determined person. "His ambition was to live in Thailand and work wherever." Steven had settled in Thailand in 2022, but had lived there on and off for a number of years leaving for extended periods of time to work on oil rigs. Steven had also been a champion kickboxer, winning the English and British WKU titles in the early 2000s. He turned pro and fought seven bouts with a record of one win, one draw, and five losses across the space of two years.

Horrified couple find live maggots in their Morrisons lunch
A hungry couple were horrified to discover live maggots wriggling in their cheesy lunch - only for Morrisons to offer an 'insulting £3 compensation'. (Image: Kennedy News and Media) Recruitment firm consultant Cato, was "disgusted" by the discovery and immediately binned the £3 purchase. The 54-year-old said she then contacted Morrisons' live chat service to inform them of the "gross" find - but was "insulted" to be offered just a £3 voucher for her bug troubles. The couple have vowed never to buy their Brie from the supermarket chain again. Cato, from Taunton, Somerset, said: "Sean stopped in the Morrisons Daily garage to grab some lunch for the day. "We've never really shopped there before, we have Brie once in a while as a little treat. "Sean said 'your lunch is ready and by the way I don't think we'll have [the Brie]'. "I opened the Brie and thought 'what the heck? That is disgusting'. I stuck the brie in the bin but kept the wrapping. "It must've been left out, it can't have been left properly in the fridge. Someone must've left it on the shelf and perhaps it's been left out. "It's gross. I thought we should really let them know that that's not on. We could've easily eaten it. "It wasn't anything to do with the brand, it was how it was kept outside the fridge." Cato contacted Morrisons via their live chat service on Facebook to inform them of the issue, but was shocked when the retailer simply offered the couple a £3 refund. Cato said: "I contacted Morrisons on Facebook message, asked what to do and said it's dangerous for other people. "It was clear after numerous messages that I was talking to a bot. They offered a £3 voucher but I don't think it's about the money. "I do feel like I've tried contacting them a couple of times. But I feel like they couldn't be bothered to take it seriously. "The £3 refund was a bit of an insult. I just thought it was stupid really. I thought they would've taken it a bit more seriously. "We won't be buying Brie from there again." Recommended reading A Morrisons spokesman said: "We have been in regular contact with the customer to apologise for the delay while our franchise partner carried out its investigation. "We are now confident this was an isolated incident but have been back in touch with the customer this week to offer them a further gesture of goodwill." Président Cheese have been contacted for a comment.
