April 27 - The Miami Marlins optioned starting pitcher Connor Gillispie to Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday and promoted fellow right-hander Luarbert Arias to take his place on the active roster.
Gillispie, 27, posted a 0-3 record with an 8.65 ERA in six starts this season.
That includes Saturday's start at Seattle in which Julio Rodriguez and Jorge Polanco each belted a home run. Gillispie surrendered seven earned runs before being lifted after two innings. His 25 earned runs lead the National League entering Sunday's play.
Arias, 24, made his major-league debut March 31 and threw three scoreless innings against the New York Mets.
He was optioned to Jacksonville after giving up eight earned runs over 3 1/3 innings in his next three appearances to push his ERA to 11.37. He has allowed three runs and six hits over 4 1/3 innings for the Jumbo Shrimp.

Surging Rays hang on to defeat Marlins 4-3
June 7 - Right-hander Zack Littell won in his sixth straight decision, Jonathan Aranda had two RBIs, and the red-hot Tampa Bay Rays edged the visiting Miami Marlins 4-3 on Friday afternoon in the opener of a three-game series. Coming off the Rays' first complete game since Ryan Yarbrough in 2021, 647 straight contests ago, Littell (6-5) allowed one run on six hits while striking out four with no walks. Aranda was 2-for-4 and Junior Caminero added two doubles. Taylor Walls (double), Curtis Mead (stolen base) and Matt Thaiss (RBI) had two hits apiece from the bottom of the order. Brandon Lowe scored twice and walked. The Rays improved to 13-3 since May 20 and evened their season series with Miami after four games while climbing to a season-best five games over .500. The Marlins lost their fifth in a row. Miami's Agustin Ramirez was 3-for-4 with a solo home run, and Otto Lopez hit a two-run homer. Eric Wagaman went 3-for-4 while Dane Myers had two hits with a double. Marlins right-hander Edward Cabrera (2-2) surrendered three runs (one earned) on six hits over four innings. He struck out five with two walks. With the game moved up to an afternoon start with the rock band Metallica playing a Friday night show across the street at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' stadium, the Rays scored on Aranda's first-inning single. In the third, Miami rookie manager Clayton McCullough was ejected for the first time in his career by home plate umpire Chad Fairchild for arguing base-path interference on Xavier Edwards, who collided with Aranda at first base. Edwards was also ejected. After Miami first baseman Liam Hicks committed a leadoff error in the third, Aranda and Jake Mangum each had RBI groundouts for a 3-0 lead. In the fourth, Ramirez got the Marlins on the board by hitting a 3-0 fastball from Littell for his eighth homer. Thaiss tacked on an insurance run with an RBI single in the seventh for his first Rays multi-hit game, but Lopez's two-run homer off Edwin Uceta in the eighth trimmed it to one. Closer Pete Fairbanks posted his 12th save with a perfect ninth. --Field Level Media

Ryan Reynolds faced with £350million Wrexham sale decision as talks in early stages
Ryan Reynolds faced with £350million Wrexham sale decision as talks in early stages Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are believed to be seeking external investment in Wrexham after taking the Welsh club from the National League to the Championship Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are reportedly seeking new investment in Wrexham (Image: Leon Bennett/The Hollywood Reporter via Getty Images ) Wrexham's Hollywood owners are reportedly seeking fresh investment in a move which could see the club's value soar to as much as £350million. Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney bought the Welsh side for a nominal amount in February 2021, subject to an immediate cash injection of £2m. The Red Dragons have since risen from the National League to the Championship after being promoted for three seasons in a row. The club's profile has grown significantly in the last four years thanks to the success of the Welcome to Wrexham documentary, which follows the actors' ownership. Reynolds and McElhenney took steps to shore up the club's financial position back in October when they welcomed the Allyn family from New York as new investors. According to Bloomberg, their acquisition of a minority stake placed Wrexham's value at approximately £100m. The same outlet now reports that the club is working with bank advisers to find further potential investors and to discover if there is a demand. The move has been discussed internally as the owners look to secure enough money to enable Wrexham to compete in the second tier. The new suggested valuation of around £350m would make Wrexham the highest priced team in the Championship. For context, Sheffield United were recently bought by an American consortium for roughly £111m. Wrexham have posted strong financial results under Reynolds and McElhenney's ownership. The latest available accounts show the club recorded a record annual turnover of more than £26m while still playing in League Two. Fans can watch the series with a £4.99 monthly plan, or get 12 months for the price of 10 by paying for a year upfront. That figure is understood to be set to rise to anywhere between £30m and £40m for the most recent season in League One. Talks over new investment are said to be in the early stages, with Wrexham expecting a boost in revenue from broadcast payments and sponsorship deals at Championship level. Deadpool star Reynolds openly discussed the idea of selling a further stake in the club during a recent appearance on the Fearless in Devotion fan podcast. However, he stressed that it would not diminish the passion that he and McElhenney feel for Wrexham. "There are still people who think we are fading away or we're going to get bored," he said.
