Aamir Khan opens up about his romance with Gauri Spratt, saying 'we met by mistake, love happened,' and calls ex-wives Reena and Kiran his forever family.
In a rare candid conversation, Bollywood icon Aamir Khan has confirmed his relationship with Gauri Spratt, a woman he met when he least expected it. While the actor has always kept his personal life largely private, he opened up during an interview with entrepreneur and content creator Raj Shamani—sharing insights not only into his newfound love but also the enduring bond he shares with his ex-wives Kiran Rao and Reena Dutta.
The 59-year-old actor admitted that following his divorce from Kiran Rao in 2021, he wasn't looking to fall in love again. 'Before I met Gauri, I felt like I had aged… Who will I find at this age?" Aamir reflected. 'Therapy really helped me understand that I needed to love myself first. I had to heal and work on my own emotional health."
That healing paved the way for something unexpected. 'Gauri and I met by mistake. We connected, became friends… and love happened," he said. The revelation has delighted fans, many of whom have watched Aamir navigate decades in the spotlight with dignity and quiet strength. While details about Gauri are still scarce, it's clear that the connection they share runs deep.
But even more striking than the news of his current relationship is the way Aamir spoke about his past ones—with immense grace and warmth. 'I've had two very strong, deep relationships with Reena and Kiran. And we are still close. We respect each other and always will," he shared. 'We may not be husband and wife anymore, but we will always be family."
This sentiment is more than just talk. Aamir, Reena, and Kiran still actively work together on their social initiative, the Paani Foundation, which focuses on water conservation efforts across Maharashtra. 'We sit and talk every day. There's genuine love and warmth between us. That's not going away," Aamir emphasized.
He also recalled how, just after their divorce, he and Kiran continued to support one another professionally—and personally. 'We went to Ladakh to shoot Laal Singh Chaddha, and during a village celebration, we danced together. The video went viral, and people said, 'They just got divorced, why are they dancing?' What they don't understand is—we share a deep bond. That doesn't disappear with a divorce."
According to Aamir, their relationship has evolved into something that may defy labels but remains solid and rooted in mutual care. 'Kiran supported me immensely during Laal Singh Chaddha, and I supported her during Laapataa Ladies. We have a very healthy relationship."
Aamir married Reena Dutta in 1986. They were together for 16 years and had two children—Junaid and Ira. After their separation in 2002, he later married Kiran Rao in 2005. The two welcomed their son Azad Rao Khan in 2011 and continued their marriage for 15 years before parting ways.
Now, with his relationship with Gauri Spratt, Aamir appears to be embracing a new chapter—not just in love, but in how relationships can evolve, mature, and still hold meaning beyond their traditional definitions.
'It's not about replacing one relationship with another. It's about allowing space for love to grow in its own way," Aamir said.

R.S. Prasanna feels some form of anxiety is required during creative process

Director R.S. Prasanna, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film 'Sitaare Zameen Par', feels that some form of anxiety is needed in the creative process. The director recently spoke with IANS ahead of the release of his film, which features Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan in the lead role. Speaking with IANS, Prasanna said, "The beauty of creation is the driving force for me, the anxiety is a friend, it will be there, but if you are driven only by anxiety, I don't think you can create. I think creative energy, if it wins over anxiety, that's when a creation happens. Like 'Inside Out' movie, it was said so beautifully that anxiety is like the correct balance between acceleration and braking. So if you don't accelerate, you can't move, if you don't have a brake, you'll have an accident. So you need both". He also shared his experience of working with Aamir in the film, as he said, "I feel that Aamir sir, and I can speak certainly for myself, he's worked with the best of the best directors, but I can speak for myself, that Aamir sir's magic is that he makes you a better filmmaker than what you are at the beginning of the film". Sitaare Zameen Par | Title Track "He makes you a better filmmaker. And I think the reason for that is, he constantly wants to be better than, you know, what he was yesterday. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Trading CFD dengan Teknologi dan Kecepatan Lebih Baik IC Markets Mendaftar Undo And constantly keeping only the film in focus", he added. Earlier, Prasanna had told IANS that human beings will soon catch up with the technological changes in filmmaking. The director said that one cannot stop the march of technology and one has to adapt. The audience will demand a change, the filmmakers will rise, the technological change will happen as it should, and experiments will keep happening, some will click, some will not. He said earlier, "But I think one thing which will never change is the way our hearts beat, so as long as the heart is there in everything, the visual is only pixels, the sound is only decibels, but that feeling, that soul, that is, as long as we have a heart, stories told by humans will always be relevant". Produced by Aamir Khan under his banner, Aamir Khan Productions, 'Sitaare Zameen Par' is set to release in cinemas on June 20, 2025. Aamir Khan breaks silence on being trolled for 'remaking' movies Laal Singh Chaddha and Sitaare Zameen Par: 'Main thoda pagal type ka hu..'

Aamir Khan 's 'Laal Singh Chaddha' was a remake of 'Forest Gump' and now his next film 'Sitaare Zameen Par' was trolled as the trailer felt like the film is a frame to frame copy of the spanish film 'Champions'. The actor has now broken silence amidst the 'Sitaare Zameen Par' row and for remaking a film again after 'Laal Singh Chaddha'. Aamir spoke about it on Raj Shamani's podcast and said he has no problems with it. The actor revealed, "Laal Singh (Chaddha) ke baad, mujhe bohot logo ne bola ki aap phir remake bana rahe ho. Laal Singh mein bohot aapko trolling hui thi, ki aapne remake banayi, remake banayi. Lekin kya hai, main thoda pagal type ka aadmi hun, practical cheezein mujhe samajh mein nahi aati." He added, 'Mujhe koi problem nahi hai remake karne mein. Mujhe nahi lagta hai meri creativity kum ho rahi hai, at all. Kyunki main apne liye toh naya kaam kar raha hun. Kisi aur ne yeh kahani banayi hai, ab main isko apna nazariya de raha hun." Further giving an example, he said, "Shakespeare ko main dobara kar raha hun, usmein apni jaan main daal raha hun. Toh remakes ka yeh jo discussion hai naa, yeh mujhe bohot fizool lagta hai. Aur isme main believe hi nahi karta hun. Main jab Ghajini kar raha hun, woh toh Tamil mein ban gayi hai naa Ghajini, Murugadoss bana chuka hai Tamil mein Ghajini, ab aap dobara Ghajini kar rahe ho. Nahi, lekin main apni nazar se kar raha hun, aur meri audience ke liye main apni energy usme daal ke aapko dikha raha hun. Toh mujhe lagta hai mera kaam usse alag hi hai." 'Sitaare Zameen Par' also stars Genelia D'souza and is set to release on June 20. Check out our list of the latest Hindi , English , Tamil , Telugu , Malayalam , and Kannada movies . Aamir Khan talks about Junaid's dyslexia, says he was like Ishaan's father in Taare Zameen Par: ‘I used to scold him'

Back in February this year, during the promotions of his first theatrical release Loveyapa, Khushi Kapoor's co-star and fellow star kid Junaid Khan revealed that he was diagnosed with dyslexia in his childhood. In a viral interview clip, when asked how he overcame the challenge, Junaid said his parents Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta were very supportive. The star kid went on to point out that his actor-filmmaker father even made Taare Zameen Par, the 2007 film which helped raise awareness about dyslexia. Well, ahead of the film's sequel Sitaare Zameen Par's release, Aamir opened up about Junaid's dyslexia diagnosis for the first time at a fan-meet. Aamir Khan, who is currently promoting the much-awaited Sitaare Zameen Par co-starring Genelia Deshmukh, shared how the story of Taare Zameen Par hit him very hard when he first heard it. This was because the actor had been through the same when his son Junaid Khan was growing up. But was Aamir as supportive as his character Ram Shankar Nikumbh was to his student Ishaan Awasthi, played by Darsheel Safary? Well, not at the beginning. Aamir revealed, 'I was like Nandkishore Awasthi in the beginning (the father from Taare Zameen Par). I used to scold Junaid.' A post shared by Instant Bollywood (@instantbollywood) Aamir went on to remember, 'So I would tell him, 'Junaid, how can someone write so badly? No one can even read this. What is it? You can't even write an A? What's going on?' I genuinely used to ask him. And when he used to read, he would say 'from' instead of 'for'. Whenever he saw an 'F', he would just guess the word- of, from, for. He couldn't read properly. So I used to try to explain things to him, and I would get confused too — how can he not understand such simple things? Then later on, we found out he has dyslexia. And of course, we helped him with that. But when I heard the story, it felt like my story. It was so close to me.' Aamir grew as a father over the years, alongside his son Junaid. We wish them all the happiness as we eagerly wait for Sitaare Zameen Par to arrive in theatres on June 20.
