Brian Cox Returns As ‘The Controller' In High-Stakes 007: Road To A Million Series 2; Trailer Out Now
Prime Video has unveiled the adrenaline-pumping trailer for the second season of 007: Road To A Million, along with brand-new key art and an intriguing first look at Brian Cox, who reprises his role as the enigmatic 'Controller." The eight-part UK Original series will stream globally from August 22, 2025.
This time, Cox's 'Controller" is back with a bigger presence — operating from an elaborate control room where he sets the challenges, evaluates performances, and delivers his trademark wry, deadpan commentary. Joining him is his formidable right-hand woman, Sofia, played by Frances McNamee, adding a fresh dynamic to the high-stakes proceedings.
'Returning as The Controller this time around, the series feels more high-octane, more immersive, and definitely more Bond," Cox said in a statement. 'The challenges are bigger, the drama runs deeper, and I've got the best seat in the house to watch it unfold."
The second series promises an expanded narrative, offering viewers a tantalising glimpse into The Controller's global network and the shadowy organisation he represents. The stakes are higher than ever — with the final surviving pair returning to London to face The Controller himself for a life-changing £1 million prize.
In true 007 style, eight pairs of everyday contestants will embark on a jaw-dropping globe-trotting adventure inspired by the Bond franchise. From scaling dizzying heights on Bangkok towers to nerve-shredding shark dives in the Bahamas, the challenges will push their physical endurance, mental grit, and even their relationships to breaking point. After each leg, the slowest teams will have to survive the nerve-wracking 'Killer Question" or face elimination.
Ultimately, only one duo will make it to the final showdown in London — where The Controller awaits with the ultimate test.
Drawing on the glamour, danger, and intrigue of James Bond, 007: Road To A Million Series 2 aims to surpass the thrills of its debut season, introducing bigger stunts, more intense drama, and a deeper dive into the game's shadowy backstory.

It ranked low compared to other releases in the first half of this year, with 5.3 million views, according to Netflix's semiannual report. 'Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within," a documentary short film that centres on a small orphanage in Uganda's Masaka region, is also set to release this year. Archewell is also in production with Netflix on a feature adaptation of Carley Fortune's novel 'Meet Me at the Lake." Actor Piloo Vidyarthi has shared her disappointment after learning that a large portion of her role in 'Sarzameen', directed by Kayoze Irani, was removed from the final cut of the film. Speaking to News18, Piloo reflected on the performance of rookie actor Ibrahim Ali Khan, son of actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh. While she praised his kind nature, she noted that he still has a long way to go in terms of acting depth. 'Acting depends on your life experiences—how you have lived your life," she reflected. 'He was very nice to me, clicked photos. But I think he needs to have some depth. Star kids are also under a lot of pressure to live up to their parents. And Ibrahim comes from a family of big achievers. They have seen attention since forever. No one is bad," she said. In the same interview, Piloo revealed that nearly 80% of her scenes were left out. 'They didn't retain even 20% of what was shot,' she said. 'I was disappointed, so I'm not promoting the film. Yes, we can talk about it since it has released, but I wasn't used at all.' 'Beech mein main phas gayi hoon, na sar hai na zameen hai,' she added, using a Hindi phrase that means she felt stuck and confused by the end result. Piloo, who had prepared seriously for her part, added that it was upsetting to see her efforts reduced to almost nothing. 'These things happen in our journey, so that's okay. But yes, it's disappointing when you prepare for a role, and it's reduced to nothing.' Sarzameen has faced criticism since its release, and Piloo's comments have now added to the conversation around the film's production choices and performances.
