KTR slams Congress govt for crippling farm & education in Telangana
Hyderabad, June 13 (UNI) Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) launched a scathing attack on the Congress-led Telangana government, accusing it of gross negligence towards agriculture and education sectors.
In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), KTR alleged that the Congress government has failed to show any commitment to the farming community or the state's education system. He said that even as the monsoon season begins, there is no clarity or preparedness regarding the implementation of the farmer assurance schemes.
KTR criticised the government's inaction on several fronts, including what he termed as a 'meagre loan waiver,' the absence of farmer assurance and pending insurance dues, and the stalling of key agricultural projects.
He expressed concern that agriculture, which he described as having become a "festival" during the BRS's decade-long rule, is now facing severe setbacks under the Congress regime in just over a year.
Highlighting the plight of the education sector, KTR said that despite schools reopening, the government continues to display a negligent attitude. He lamented that the robust welfare gurukul system, which flourished under BRS with the establishment of over a thousand residential schools, is now struggling due to a lack of proper support and planning.

Whereas the city president of the NCP (SP), Prashant Jagtap, said, 'Supriya Sule has made it clear that there will be no alliance with the BJP or Ajit Pawar-led party. We are prepared to contest the municipal elections and ready to face them.' For the last few weeks, there have been rumours about the likelihood of both NCP factions coming together. Recently however, both parties celebrated 'Foundation Day' in Pune, sending out a clear message that there will be no merger of the two factions. It is now clear that the two NCP factions will contest the upcoming civic elections separately and against each other.

Bawankule meets protesting Bachchu Kadu, Cong backs his stir
Nagpur/Amravati: Guardian minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Friday met ex-MLA Bachchu Kadu at Amravati and urged him to end his indefinite fast, which has continued for six days now. On Friday, the Congress also threw its weight behind Kadu's ongoing agitation for farmers, just a day after NCP (Sharad) MLA Rohit Pawar drove down to the Amravati protest site where Kadu is on indefinite fast. Earlier this week, Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange, and ex-minister Anil Deshmukh too met Kadu. Bawankule's visit to Kadu is seen as an important development as the monsoon session of the legislature is scheduled from June 30. Congress state president Harshwardhan Sapkal said, "Congress has decided to back Kadu's ongoing agitation, which addresses various farmers' issues. The concerns raised by Kadu are real. Earlier on Friday, high drama unfolded at the protest site, when a member of Kadu's Prahar Janshakti Party consumed poison, and was rushed to the hospital by the medical team present on site. The activist, identified as Ajay Bhagwatrao Chaudhary, has been admitted to a private hospital at Warud. Chaudhary, like many other Prahar activists, had turned restless on Friday citing 'government's apathy' towards Kadu's Annatyag Andolan, now into its sixth day, at Gurukunj Mozari (about 30km from Amravati city). Kadu's agitation raises issues related to farmers, divyangs, widows, fishermen etc. Before Bawankule's visit too the govt has tried to persuade Kadu to withdraw the agitation. Ministers Bharat Gogawale, Pankaja Munde and Jaykumar Gore held online meetings with Kadu, who expressed his resolve to continue the agitation as no concrete assurance reportedly came out of these meetings. As the monsoon session of the legislature is set to begin later this month, NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar has already hinted that Kadu's agitation will be an issue discussed there. Air India Plane Crash: Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Union government has set up a high-level committee to investigate the Air India plane crash that killed 241 people on board near Ahmedabad airport in Gujarat on 12 June. The Committee will examine the existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines issued to prevent and handle such occurrences and suggest comprehensive guidelines for dealing with such instances in the future, the Ministry of Civil Aviation said on Friday night. All passengers – except one – on board the Air India flight bound for London Gatwick Airport that crashed shortly after take-off from Gujarat's Ahmedabad airport on 12 June afternoon died. There were 242 passengers and crew on board the plane, including 169 Indian nationals, 53 Britons, seven Portuguese nationals, and one Canadian. One passenger, Vishwashkumar Ramesh, a British national of Indian origin, miraculously survived the crash. The Committee will not be a substitute for other enquiries being conducted by relevant organisations, but will focus on formulating SOPs for preventing and handling such occurrences in the future. 'The committee will have access to all records, including, among others, flight data, cockpit voice recorders, aircraft maintenance records, ATC Log and witness testimonies,' the Ministry said in the order. The committee will publish its report within three months. The government said that the panel will be headed by the home secretary and will include representatives from the state and central governments, not below the rank of joint secretary.
