Several players who stood out in recent Texas A&M practice video

USA Today2 days ago
Entering Thursday, Texas A&M's nine remaining preseason practices present an opportunity to continue improving before the 2025 season-opener against UTSA on Saturday, August 30. So far, so good, as the offense, led by starting quarterback Marcel Reed, who has continued to improve as a passer, while the secondary, specifically the revamped cornerback room, has also been under the radar.
On Thursday, the Aggie media team released a video of what looked to be the latest practice closed off from the media, featuring an 11 11 run-through that included several interesting notes, starting with two changes on the offensive line that could come to fruition at some point during the 2025 campaign.
In the video, senior left tackle Trey Zuhn is seen taking snaps at center. At the same time, center Kolinu'u Faaiu also reps at guard, which proves that coach Mike Elko and OL coach Adam Cushing have continued experimenting across the offensive line this month.
However, Marcel Reed's connection with the revamped wide receiver room has continued, as the redshirt sophomore connected with new wide receivers KC Concepcion, Ashton Bethel-Roman, and Izaiah Williams, while freshman running back Jamarion Morrow also reached the endzone. For Bethel-Roman and Morrow, the proverbial drumbeat has only gotten louder with 15 days before the opener.
At cornerback, thanks to GigEm247 beat writer Carter Karels for his keen eye, cornerbacks Will Lee III, Georgia transfer Julian Humphrey, and junior CB Jayvon Thomas all stepped up, as Lee and Thomas both reeled in interceptions, while Humphrey recorded a pass breakup.
Texas A&M will not hold another scrimmage after last Saturday's event, but will have a mock game-like practice next Thursday as one of the final preseason practices before game week arrives.
