Monaco CEO clarifies Eliesse Ben Seghir transfer stance
L'Équipe reported towards the end of the last Ligue 1 campaign that the forward felt frustrated towards the end of the season as he began to play a more bit-part role, often off the bench. He did, nonetheless, make 46 appearances in all competitions and played at least some part in 33 of Monaco's 34 matches in Ligue 1.

Perhaps it was in response to this frustration that Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro defended Adi Hütter's usage of the player. 'At the end of last season, he had a vision that doesn't reflect the reality. He played more than 2,000 minutes, which is a lot. He scored lots of goals and made lots of assists. It is our job too to show that the plan is going on. A football career is a process, not an act,' he said in a press conference attended by Get French Football News.
'I think Ben Seghir's prime is to come' – Scuro
Scuro then set out the Principality club's stance on a sale this summer. 'He is a special talent, a special player. We have the intention to keep developing him here. I think his prime is to come. It is our intention that he stays,' said the Brazilian.
Ben Seghir had been attracting interest from Manchester City, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and Bayer Leverkusen, all of whom made enquiries.

PSG's pursuit of Lucas Chevalier hits stumbling block
Lucas Chevalier (23) has reportedly already agreed to a five-year contract with reigning Ligue 1 and UEFA Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain. However, the capital club's negotiations with Lille OSC have stalled. According to a report from L'Équipe, Lille warned PSG during negotiations that they would only sanction a departure for the France international once they had signed his replacement. The club are keen to avoid a similar scenario to when Mike Maignan left for AC Milan, which saw Léo Jardim and Ivo Grbić fail to fill the void. Lille have made multiple approaches in the last few days, but appear to have missed out on Robin Roefs (22), who is close to joining Sunderland AFC. However, the Dutch U21 reportedly was not at the top of Lille's shortlist, which also includes Toulouse FC's Guillaume Restes, Olympique de Marseille's Jeffrey de Lange, and Tottenham Hotspur's Antonín Kinský.
