Rahul Bhatt gets emotional, says ‘stamped as David Headley's friend', still gets daily DMs calling him traitor

Fitness trainor and actor Rahul Bhatt, implicated in investigations related to the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks due to his friendship with mastermind David Headley, got emotional on the Hindi Rush podcast while speaking about the case.
Calling the incident and experience 'devastating', Rahul Bhatt got emotional talking about how he is treated by people despite being a witness in the case and not an accused.
'That case created the most devastating trauma, which I didn't show, which I kept within. I said: 'I am this big, larger than life, physical male', but I suffered the most damage… because my identity and I were butchered,' he said.
'My character was assassinated... for what? for nothing. I didn't do anything, if I had, I would have confessed and gone to the gallows, I'm a man, I'd take it on my chin… and what I was made to got through. I remember to this date,' he said.
On whether the social impact still persists, Rahul Bhatt said that he gets at last 20 direct messages everyday on social media.
'Everyday there are at least 20 DMs … you get used to it, but then it hurts. At the end of the day it hurts when youre called a traitor, when you have done nothing. (I am a) human being, how much will you take?' he said wiping tears.
He added that this has made him distrustful and paranoid. '… you start distrusting human beings … I do feel secure, believe in myself, but I am paranoid. I can't just relax,' he said emotionally.
Rahul Bhatt said that investigating agencies have been fair and he has the truth on his side. 'I have not faced any problems from the agencies. They have been fair. They go by facts. Dudh ka dhudh, paani ka paani… the only thing that has saved me is the truth and the truth and the truth,' he claimed.
On the media coverage he admitted that some were sensationalised. 'It was selected media … but everything is out — I was never a accused, I was a witness... If I was involed, would I be sitting here with you? It's a big case... do you think they would have spared me?'
He also added that the case has had long lasting impact on his life. 'I am stuck with the stamp 'that's Headley's friend'. What can I say, he was my friend. I didn't know his real intentions.'
Rahul Bhatt added that he has no regrets. '… no hard feelings and I don't have any regrets, if I have to go through everything again I will. I learnt life lessons. Adversity has taught me, and I have no fear now.'

Pehle toh aise kar rahe the jaise humara janam janam ka rishta hai (He was behaving as if we have a bond of many lifetimes). We spoke for three hours." However, the actor revealed that the superstar behaved coldly during their second meeting for an ad shoot and said, "The second time I met him to shoot an advertisement, he was very rude. After completing the shoot, I went and told him, 'I consider myself very fortunate to be able to work with you twice.' But he didn't even look at me, he kept staring at a painting and said, 'Bhagwan kare aapko tisbara mile' (May God give you a third chance also).' Saanand went on to say that no one is really friends in the industry and further agreed with Paresh Rawal's statement that people are only colleagues in the business. 'Amitabh Bachchan was rude to me when I met him second time,' says 'Bhabhiji Ghar Pe Hai' actor Saanand Verma: 'Pehli baar mile toh lagaa Abhishek Bachchan main hi hu'

Actor Saanand Verma known for playing Saxena in the popular show 'Bhabhiji Ghar Pe Hai' had once done a shoot for 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' with Amitabh Bachchan . He also got the opportunity to work with the legendary actor for a commercial shoot again. In a recent interview, he revealed that he's also interacted with many other stars like Jeetendra, but the only time he felt that superstar aura was when he shot with Bachchan. He recalled how contradictory both his meetings were with the superstar. He revealed that during their first encounter, he chatted with Big B for three hours and he was so nice to him. Verma said in an interview with Hindi Rush, "Mujhe unka aura feel hua when I first met him. Second time mila toh woh rude the kaafi. Pehli baar mila toh lagaa Abhishek Bachchan main hi hu. Unka beta main hi hu. (I felt his aura when I met him first. During our second interaction, he was pretty rude but when I met him for the first time, I felt like I was only Abhishek Bachchan. He spoke to me like I was his son)," laughed Verma. He further elaborated on what had happened during their second interaction. "We were shooting for an ad and I went up to him and said, 'Main bohot zyada bhagyashaali mehsoos karta hu joh aapke saath dobara kaam karne ka mauka mila.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Buy Brass Idols - Handmade Brass Statues for Home & Gifting Luxeartisanship Buy Now Undo Toh unhone dekha hi nahi meri taraf. (I told him, 'I'm quite lucky to work with you for the second time' but he didn't reply, he kept looking at the painting. He then responded, 'May God give you the opportunity even for the third time.'" Verma added he's not complaining about Bachchan, but just pointing out the contradiction in his behaviour during both the meets. He added, "I'm talking about the contradiction. Ek baar kuch zarurat se zyada hi dhyaan diya unhone and doosri baar ignore maar diya. Yeh contrast hai. Yeh ullekhniya tha. Mujhe Amitjee se shikayat nahi hai. Main unki respect karta hoon bohot and unke jaisa kalaakaar koi hua nahi hai. Par yahan koi dost nahi hai. (The first time, he paid more attention to me than required and the second time he just ignored me. I have no complaints with him. I respect him immensely and one will never ever see an artist like him again but all I'm saying is, nobody is a friend here)." Saanand further said that Paresh Rawal said something very right recently in an interview that when you're working with someone, they are colleagues, not friends. Rawal had said that reflecting upon his statement about Akshay Kumar where he called him a colleague and not a friend. Actor Saanand Verma grew immensely popular after he starred in the superhit TV show, Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain. Despite having worked with the best actors in the Indian entertainment industry, he only felt starstruck in front of one actor- Amitabh Bachchan. When Verma first worked with Bachchan, the veteran actor treated him like a 'son". However, their second time working together was starkly different. Verma said Bachchan was rude to him during the shoot. In a recent chat with Hindi Rush, Saanand Verma opened up about his contrasting experience with Amitabh Bachchan. He said, 'I have spoken to many stars, but I didn't think much about them. But I felt Amitabh Bachchan's aura when I was shooting Kaun Banega Crorepati's promo. The first time I met him… he was like… I felt like I am Abhishek Bachchan. I felt like I am his son. We spoke for three hours." His second time was not as great. Recalling his cold interaction, he said, 'However, the second time I met him to shoot an advertisement, he was very rude." I don't think there is another actor like him in Hindi film industry but yes nobody is friends in the film industry." Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan is gearing up for the shoot for Kalki 2.
