New Delhi: Sooraj Pancholi opened up about his mother Zarina Wahab's strained relationship with father Aditya Pancholi in a recent interview with Hindi Rush. Sooraj shared his thoughts on why his mother hasn't divorced Aditya Pancholi till now despite his extra-marital affairs are already discussed in public. Sharing about his mother's struggles and "will" to stay in this marriage, Sooraj said he's not in a position to comment on their "arrangement." What Sooraj Pancholi called his mother Zarina Wahab a binding factor. "She holds the entire family together, and she has really been through a lot because of us. I have never, ever seen her break down. She has never complained about anything," said Sooraj to Hindi Rush. Sooraj shared his mother has been working since 16 and she didn't have a strong "backup" which would enable her to walk out of the marriage. "She has been acting since the age of 16. She almost 65 now. She is self-made. She has four homes of her own. She doesn't come from money. If she wanted to leave, she could have done it long back. Safe, accessible, and direct, they quickly became the preferred medium for stars looking to engage audiences without red carpets or studio lights. And by the time the world reopened, podcasts weren't just a backup plan—they were a permanent part of the media landscape. In fact, they had become so influential that, as actor Sooraj Pancholi recently revealed, getting featured on a top podcast could cost you a cool ₹30 lakh. Speaking to Hindi Rush, he said, 'I have heard that there are a few actors who charge about ₹30 lakh to do a podcast. Is this true? I have come here for free, at least give me ₹30,000." The ripple effect has reached India too. Several Indian celebrities have launched their own podcasts to take control of their narratives. Neha Dhupia, Kalki Koechlin, Navya Naveli Nanda, and Rhea Chakraborty are among those using the format not just for interviews, but for storytelling, vulnerability, and brand building. For Rhea, Chapter 2 marked a redemptive comeback, where she candidly opened up about life after Sushant Singh Rajput's death and the media trial that followed. It's a trend now for actors to make appearances on popular podcasts. In a recent interview however, Sooraj Pancholi said that actors pay to appear on podcasts, in many cases. Sooraj recently was seen in 'Kesari Veer' which starred Suniel Shetty . Sooraj has been elated for his comeback film, after he finally was acquitted from Jiah Khan 's death case in 2023. As he appeared on a recent podcast, he joked first about actors charging money for these interviews. He said on Hindi Rush, "I have heard that there are a few actors who charge about ₹30 lakh to do a podcast. Is this true? I am just wanting to know because I have come here for free. Pay me at least ₹30,000." The podcasters laughed and said that the tables have turned now. He responded, "Yes, I have heard that too, that the podcasters who have good viewership charge ₹30 lakh to get you on their podcast. I have received such offer too. But it makes sense as they give you viewership. They have put immense hard work to grow their page so I think why not.' In the same podcast, Sooraj also spoke about his time in Jail. He said, "They put me where they put Ajmal Kasab . I didn't even have a pillow; I'd sleep on newspapers. They treated me terribly, like I'd committed some horrible crime. I'm not exaggerating. It was only after four or five years that I understood what I'd been through. It felt like a dream when it was happening. The CBI investigation happened… They kept me in the 'anda cell'.
