Chris Brown arrested in England 2 years after alleged assault
Chris Brown was arrested Thursday in Manchester, England, in connection with an alleged bottle-throwing incident two years prior.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ that the 36-year-old controversial singer — who has a history of assault arrests — attacked music producer Abe Diaw in February 2023 at London's Tape nightclub.
Brown was taken into custody at a Manchester hotel early Thursday morning on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, according to the outlet. Brown's slated to tour in Manchester as well as other U.K. cities next month.
'We can confirm that Chris Brown was involved in an incident with our client, and the injuries sustained are serious,' attorney Ryan J. Daneshrad, who represented Diaw in the suit, told the Daily News. 'We are pursuing all legal remedies to hold him accountable. At this time, we will let the facts speak for themselves through the proper legal channels.'
It's unclear what led to the alleged altercation and what injuries Diaw allegedly sustained.
Brown is perhaps just as well-known for his legal issues as he once was for his musical prowess and hit songs like 'Forever' and 'No Air.'
Most infamously, in 2009, Brown viciously attacked then-girlfriend Rihanna, who was hospitalized as a result. He was charged with felony assault and making criminal threats, ultimately taking a deal in which he pleaded guilty to felony assault by means likely to cause great bodily injury.
Brown at the time was sentenced to five years probation, 180 days of community labor and a year of domestic violence classes and ordered to pay fines. In the aftermath, Brown was denied a visa to the U.K.
In the years since assaulting Rihanna, Brown has been arrested on suspicion of multiple other assaults in different cities.
Earlier this year, he sued Warner Bros. for an Investigation Discovery documentary, 'Chris Brown: A History of Violence,' which identified him as a 'serial rapist,' per People.
Brown's lawyer did not immediately respond to The News' request for comment.

Cops ask public's help ID'ing muggers who stabbed, beat Bronx subway rider
Cops released surveillance photos of a trio of brutes wanted for punching, repeatedly stabbing and robbing a man on a Bronx train last month. The three muggers, believed to be in their 20s, remain on the lam after the violent May 11 attack, which left 39-year-old Alberto Abreu Contreras knocked unconscious on the E. 167th St. subway station platform in Highbridge. Surveillance photos show one mugger wearing an olive-green hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and black sneakers. 'I was sitting on the train, and a guy grabbed me by my chain through my hoodie,' Contreras told The News a day after the assault. 'He dragged me out onto the platform, I held onto the guy for dear life. There was two more guys that came to help him. They said, 'Let him go'. He was saying, 'I'm sorry, I'm sorry' in Spanish, and he ran down the escalator.' Contreras was unconscious following the beatdown and said he woke up at Lincoln Hospital, where he was initially in critical condition. After surgery he was expected to recover. 'I still feel the pain,' Contreras told The News. 'They put tubes in my stomach to see if there was internal bleeding. It is what it is, this goes with the neighborhood. This can happen to anyone.' State law enforcement officials said this is all to delivering timely, accurate, and reliable work that'll impact dozens throughout the state. The state's new crime lab will be a 190,000 square-foot facility equipped with the latest forensic technology and infrastructure and is a $200 million project. They say the project is the start of something new and that every piece of evidence will be handled with integrity. Arkansas purchases $4 million-plus 19-acre site in North Little Rock for new crime lab This expansion is happening in three different parts of the state. Theodore Brown, the director and Chief Medical Examiner, says this is a part of their commitment to building a safer and stronger Arkansas. 'Everything that we are doing that we are putting into this new facility is centered solely on best serving Arkansans,' Brown said. 'How can we best provide timely accurate and reliable forensic sciences throughout our state when our families, our patients need us most?' The services at the crime lab include forensic pathology, toxicology, drug analysis, DNA analysis, ballistics, digital evidence processing, and latent fingerprint identification. L.I. man arrested after woman found fatally shot in car outside her home
A Long Island man has been arrested and charged after a woman was found fatally shot in a car outside her apartment building in Moriches on Friday, officials said. James Quininchetta, 40, of Ridge, was arrested early Saturday morning and charged with second-degree murder, a Suffolk County Police spokesperson confirmed to the Daily News. The victim, 33-year-old Rebecca Roth, was found by her mother inside a Hyundai Elantra in the parking lot of the Tall Oaks apartment complex on Long Tree Lane early Friday morning, according to police. Roth's mother, who has not been publicly identified, called 911 shortly before 8:30 a.m. Homicide Squad detectives responded and found Roth with an apparent gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Quininchetta was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday. He pleaded not guilty and was ordered held without bail, online court records show. A request for comment from his court-appointed attorney was not immediately returned Saturday afternoon. Quininchetta is due back in court on June 12. It's unclear if he had any relationship with the victim.
