Andy Cohen had the ‘ultimate family vacation' at Disney, then things took a turn

Miami Herald22-04-2025

Fun in the sun? Sort of, kind of.
Besties Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen took their kids to Disney World in Orlando for spring break. The reviews? Mixed.
The trip to the so-called Greatest Place on Earth started out great for the single dads who have two kids apiece.
The Bravo chief's children are Lucy, who turns 3 on April 29, and Ben, 6; the CNN anchor coparents Sebastian, 3, and Wyatt, who turns 5 April 27, with ex Benjamin Maisani.
While Cooper, 57, doesn't document much of his personal life on social media, Cohen, 56, posted two snippets from the getaway.
One picture saw the New Year's Eve revelers on the themed park's famed Tron Lightcycle, which zips through a digital cosmic landscape.
'It was the ultimate family vacation,' said the caption. 'What a joy!'
The age restriction for the ride is 8, but the little ones got to enjoy a different area of Disney — Magic Kingdom, where Lucy is seen in dad's Insta pic hugging Daisy Duck. The hilarious caption says they had 'squashed their beef.'
Cohen appeared on the 'Today' show Tuesday explaining that his daughter found the beloved cartoon character to be 'bossy.'
The 'Real Housewives' creator also admitted that things were on the four-day sojourn good, until they weren't.
The group's breaking point came on the last day at the OG ride, the Tower of Terror at Hollywood Studios.
'[I was] sitting there eating my eighth Mickey ice cream pop and I was disgusting and I smelled like humanity,' Cohen told Jenna Bush Hager. 'The children, who I had formerly found adorable, were screaming, and I was like, 'Who am I? Get me out of here!''
Plan B: To escape back to the hotel.
'We called it,' Cohen added. 'I was in the pool an hour later.'

‘From the World of John Wick: Ballerina' leaps into first position at the box office

The latest installment in the 'John Wick' series leaped into first position at the box office. 'From the World of John Wick: Ballerina,' pirouetted to the No. 1 spot Friday, its opener, raking in $10.65 million, according to The Numbers. The thriller, which The Post said 'has good fights, bad everything else,' is the fifth installment of the 'John Wick' franchise starring Keanu Reeves — and features Ana de Armas as a ballerina who doubles as an assassin. Landing in second was the live-action remake 'Lilo & Stitch,' with sales of $9.3 million. The film, which was slated to be a direct-to-streaming title on Disney+, went on to set the record as the biggest four-day Memorial Day weekend domestic opening of all time. 3 In 'From the World of John Wick: Ballerina,' Ana de Armas plays a ballerina who doubles as an assassin. ©Lions Gate/Courtesy Everett Collection 'I and the other filmmakers always believed that it could be a big, perfect summer blockbuster to go see on a huge screen,' its director, Dean Fleischer Camp, told Variety. 'I'm proud of how hard it delivers on that. It's super funny, it's action-packed, and it's super emotional.' Taking third was 'Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning' with $4 million in revenue. 3 Maia Kealoha made her film debut in 'Lilo & Stitch.' ©Walt Disney Co./Courtesy Everett Collection Tom Cruise's stunts in the film just earned him the Guinness World Record for most burning parachute jumps by an individual. 'The star leapt out of a helicopter 16 times while strapped to a parachute pre-soaked in fuel and lit ablaze, before cutting away the charred remnants of the first chute and safely deploying a backup. No other actor or stuntman has come close to that amount of death-defying drops,' the record book stated on its website. 3 Tom Cruise earned a Guinness World Record for his stunts in 'Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning.' ©Paramount/Courtesy Everett Collection Wes Anderson's 'The Phoenician Scheme,' which Slate called the filmmaker's 'worst yet,' was in fourth, with a $2.55 million dollar take. 'Karate Kid: Legends,' which The Post said was 'awful,' fought its way to fifth, earning $2.45 million.

Miley Cyrus Says Disney Stopped Her from Singing ‘Hannah Montana' Songs After Series Ended: ‘Not Like I Wanted to'

Miley Cyrus is opening up about her music career after leaving Hannah Montana behind. In a recent interview on The Ringer podcast, the 32-year-old pop star and actress revealed that following the end of the hit Disney Channel series in 2011, she was banned from performing any songs associated with the teen sitcom. 'It's not like I wanted to, I mean performing 'The Best Of Both Worlds' between 'We Can't Stop' and 'Wrecking Ball,' wouldn't have really made sense.' But it wasn't easy being cut off from music so tied to her early identity. 'It was still sad knowing those songs have my voice, my face, and I wasn't allowed to sing them,' she said. That changed in August 2024, when Cyrus was officially inducted as a Disney Legend during a ceremony at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. 'After being inducted as a Disney Legend, I was given permission to perform those songs in the future, which is pretty cool,' she told The Ringer. Hannah Montana debuted in March 2006 and quickly became a cultural phenomenon, premiering to a record-breaking 5.4 million viewers, the highest in Disney Channel's history at the time. Cyrus, then 13 years old, played Miley Stewart, a teenager living a secret double life as a Malibu student by day and global pop star by night. Under her TV alter ego, Cyrus charted 20 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 as Hannah Montana. 'He Could Be the One' became the biggest hit, reaching the top 10 in 2009. The show's theme song, 'The Best of Both Worlds,' also made the chart, reaching No. 92 in 2006. Cyrus also earned three No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 as Hannah Montana: Hannah Montana, Hannah Montana 2/Meet Miley Cyrus, and Hannah Montana: The Movie soundtrack.
