Oman signs RO 56 million in tourism development for major projects across the Sultanate
Post Views: 56 The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has signed three usufruct contracts valued at over RO 56 million to develop major tourism projects aimed at boosting Oman's hospitality and adventure tourism sectors. The contracts cover the development of integrated tourism complexes in the Wilayats of Khasab and Nakhl, and the transformation of Wadi Al Shab in Sur into a premier adventure tourism destination. The agreements were signed under the patronage of H.E. Salim Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism. The first project focuses on the enhancement of Wadi Al Shab, a prominent natural attraction in the Wilayat of Sur, South Al Sharqiyah Governorate. The initiative includes the construction of an adventure park featuring zip lines, mountain climbing trails, suspension bridges, swimming areas for both adults and children, as well as restaurants and cafés. The project is designed to attract both local and international tourists year-round while promoting environmental sustainability. The second contract was signed with Khasab Development and Investment Company for the establishment of the 'Sandan – Khasab Pearl' integrated tourism complex. Spanning 43,658 square meters in the Wilayat of Khasab, the project will feature a 4-star hotel with 200 rooms and 450 residential units available for ownership by Omanis and foreign nationals. The third project, 'Hamyan Village,' will be developed by Hamyan Investment and Project Development Company on a 201,031 square meter plot in Halban, Wilayat of Nakhl, South Al Batinah Governorate. Represented by Saud Hamad Al Ta'ei, the company will build a 4-star hotel with 156 rooms, 535 residential units including apartments and villas, and a variety of amenities such as a market, restaurants, water park, and other recreational services.

Oman: Tax Forum 2025 discusses digital transformation
Muscat: The second edition of the Tax Forum 2025, organized by the Tax Authority, discussed comprehensive developments in the tax system, developments in transfer pricing, and the implementation of value-added tax in the Sultanate of Oman. Nasser bin Khamis al Jashmi, Chairman of the Tax Authority, said the forum provides specialists at the Tax Authority with the opportunity to benefit from the opinions and proposals discussed at the forum, which serve the tax process in the Sultanate of Oman. Idris bin Hamoud al Rashidi, Director of the Electronic Invoicing Project at the Tax Authority, said the forum discussed several important topics related to the tax field, including electronic invoicing. The Authority seeks to completely transform voting, which will contribute to the level of transparency and tax compliance and support the government's digital transformation efforts in general. Officials said the authority places great importance on strengthening bridges of trust with taxpayers, which has positively impacted the Authority's position in terms of transparency and efficiency in managing the tax system. The forum featured the presentation of several working papers on the most significant structural changes within the Tax Authority aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and the ongoing improvements to electronic services provided to facilitate taxpayers' compliance. SOHAR Port and Freezone concludes Youth Camp in supply chain and logistics managment
Suhar, Oman – SOHAR Port and Freezone in collaboration with The Youth Centre has successfully concluded its Youth Camp for Supply Chain and Logistics Management, a transformative initiative equipping 170 Omani youth with advanced logistics skills and leadership capabilities. Notably, 80 participants have advanced to an intensive second phase, where they will delve deeper into leadership and innovation, contributing to the sustainable development of Oman's logistics sector. 'The conclusion of the Supply Chain and Logistics Camp marks the end of an intensive journey of learning and growth in one of the most critical sectors driving our national economy,' said Alia bint Saeed Al Shanfari, Executive Director of the Youth Center.
