Kristen Stewart and Dylan Meyer are officially married
ALBAWABA - Officially, Kristen Stewart and Dylan Meyer, her fiancé, are married. According to TMZ, the longtime pair held a little ceremony on Sunday in the backyard of Stewart's Los Angeles home. The couple apparently picked up their marriage license at a Los Angeles courthouse a few days prior. Photos and videos from the private wedding were released by the tabloid. The Twilight star was dressed in a white crop top, gray skirt, and shirt. Her wife, meanwhile, had her hair pulled back in a ponytail with a black ribbon and was dressed in a beige satin skirt and a sheer white blouse. The precise attendees are unknown, but according to TMZ, actors Ashley Benson and her husband, Brandon Jack James, were present. (VIA - Backgrid) The Independent's request for a response was not immediately answered by Stewart's agents. Despite meeting on a film set in 2013, Meyer and Stewart didn't begin dating until years later. Before being pictured holding hands on nights out, they began hanging out together after running into each other at a common friend's birthday celebration in 2019. In October 2019, Meyer shared a charming picture of herself and Stewart sharing a kiss in a photobooth on Instagram, writing, "Find me under the covers hiding from the happiness police." US actress Kristen Stewart (R) and fiancee Dylan Meyer (Photo by ANGELA WEISS / AFP) Stewart also talked candidly about falling in love with Meyer during an appearance on The Howard Stern Show that same year. "It was really late when I told her I loved her, and we were in a shit bar. Her friends were there or something, and they left, and I was like, 'Oh, man, I'm so f***ing in love with you.' "Like, finished," she murmured. "It wasn't like 'a thing,' and it was also obvious." The Spencer actress announced her engagement to the scriptwriter in 2021. "We are definitely going to be married. I believe I clearly defined what I wanted because I wanted to be proposed to, and she got it exactly right. During another appearance on The Howard Stern Show, she declared, "We're getting married; it's happening." She hinted that she didn't want a lavish ceremony when she talked about the wedding preparation process a year later.

HBO casting Snape as Black in Harry Potter reboot draws criticism
HBO's highly anticipated Harry Potter reboot is making waves with its latest casting decision: British-Ghanaian actor Paapa Essiedu, known for his standout performances in I May Destroy You and The Lazarus Project, will take on the iconic role of Severus Snape. While many fans are praising the move as a bold step toward inclusion, others are raising concerns about what they see as forced racial diversity and how it may unintentionally alter the character's background. Critics of the casting argue that transforming Snape into a Black character adds new racial implications to his backstory, especially his history of being bullied by James Potter and the Marauders at Hogwarts — a white James Potter tormenting a Black Severus Snape. What was once a morally gray school rivalry now risks being read through a racial lens. Without meaning to, the story introduces the dynamic of racial power imbalance into a narrative that originally centered on social exclusion, not race. James Potter bullying the only black student at hogwarts in the 70's yeah sounds like a good idea — NoSoyDany (@_NoSoyDany) March 7, 2025 James Potter and Co weren't nice to Snape but this casting will fundamentally change the whole point of those characters if you give their bullying a racist undertone. — dr. a (@academicsheep) April 14, 2025 HBO will have a very bad reputation by the time they are on Prisoner of Azkaban! Here me out. Neville is afraid of Snape, hence his boggart is: Snape. Who comes out of a wardrobe? Snape... who now happens to be black. Neville is afraid of a black man. — BlabberingCollector (@BlabberingC) March 21, 2025 I can't wait to see James Potter and his other white friends to bully Snape, who is now black. I wonder how that'll go! Leviosa... — Pacosith (@Pacosith) April 14, 2025 Critics have also pointed out that instead of race-swapping a central character, the series could have explored the stories of existing Black characters already present in J.K. Rowling's universe—such as Dean Thomas, Angelina Johnson, Lee Jordan, and Kingsley Shacklebolt—who were often underdeveloped in both the books and films. Paapa Essiedu should not have been cast Severus Snape in the Harry Potter TV series. — Goat Herder 101 (@BillyGoat838) April 14, 2025

Azealia Banks blasts J.K. Rowling amid transphobic rant
Published March 17th, 2025 - 08:02 GMT ALBAWABA - American rapper and singer-songwriter Azealia Banks recently slammed renowned Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling for her transphobic rant on social media, stating that the writer might've had personal reasons for such hate towards a specific group of people. Banks who is known for being outspoken and controversial wrote, "Maybe her husband cheated on her with a Tr***ylicious diva and that's why she's dedicated every waking moment to making sure her life's legacy is dedicated to harassing people who make up less than 1% of the Global population." She then took a more general approach targeting transphobic individuals and wrote on Musk's X (formerly known as Twitter), "Highkey all this anti-trans stuff is really just giving the weird people who solicit transwomen for sex and murder them more fuel to become murderous psychopaths." Azealia Banks further stated, "If you think a chaser psycho only limits his victims to transwomen and won't also murder females, you're f****ing r******d." Azealia Banks blasts J.K. In response, J.K. Rowling denounced Banks' comments deeming it a call for attention on social media, and wrote, "It's a matter of public record that my first husband beat me up, but you got the likes, Azealia, and I hope they were worth it." The Harry Potter author has always been vocal about her extreme stance on trans people and has voiced her opinion about the matter in question, multiple times on her socials. Moreover, Azealia Banks hasn't always been supportive of trans people and has made transphobic remarks herself in the past. On the contrary, she seems to have had a change of heart after noticing her current stance on social media. Many social media users took to Banks' defense after the rapper's response to J.K. Rowling. A user on X wrote, "Azealia Banks can be hateful af but every once in a while she channels her ability to read someone to absolute filth for the greater good." Another added, "You know you're wrong when Azealia Banks looks like the better person." On the contrary, several others took to J.K. Rowling's side and stated that a person are entitled to their own opinion about certain subjects and are free to express them on social media. © 2000 - 2025 Al Bawaba (
