EXCLUSIVE Michelle Heaton reveals why her Dominican Republic family holiday to celebrate four years sober was so magical
Last month, Michelle Heaton was looking better than ever as she flaunted her abs on the beach in the Dominican Republic.
To celebrate four years of sobriety, the Liberty X singer, 45, was spending a week at Casa de Campo Resort and Villas with her husband Hugh Hanley, and their two kids, Faith, 13, and 10-year-old AJ.
And now, in an exclusive interview with MailOnline, Michelle has revealed why their family holiday was even more 'magical' than usual.
She tells us: 'Obviously, the first thing that made it special was where Casa de Campo is, and everything being so luxurious.
'It feels like you're somewhere that you're not meant to be. Like, could this be real?
'But, for us as a family, I was coming up to four years sober as well, so every time we go away now, it's just more magical, and we have moments that eclipse the moments in the past, which is great.
'We're making new memories together.'
'This was also the first holiday where the kids' iPads never came out and we had adult conversations,' Michelle continues. 'Faith had a phone because she likes to take photos and post them, now she's 13, but there was no screen time apart from the evenings when we were getting ready for bed.
She says: 'It feels like you're somewhere that you're not meant to be. Like, could this be real? But, for us as a family, I was coming up to four years sober as well, so every time we go away now, it's just more magical, and we have moments that eclipse the moments in the past'
'It was just brilliant!'
One of the largest resorts in the Caribbean, the 7,000-acre Casa de Campo is home to 255 villas, three miles of beaches, four marinas, football fields, a ranch with horses, three world championship golf courses, six restaurants, three pools, and so much more.
It's so big, in fact, that every room comes with a golf buggy – which Michelle laughs 'didn't go very fast'.
'It's insane how much is available, and how much is included in the all-inclusive price of the resort,' she adds. 'We did not tick all the boxes, we didn't do everything that we wanted to do, there just wasn't time!'
And Michelle says the reason Faith and AJ never asked for their iPads was due to how much was on offer, with the family throwing themselves into a huge range of activities, from clay pigeon shooting to speed boat rides and golf.
The highlight for Michelle was a boat trip to Isla Catalina, where the family spent the day snorkelling.
'That was the first time, we'd all gone snorkelling as a family,' she says. 'And that was really good fun to be able to do that together.
'Usually, one of the kids won't want to go in the sea, or I don't want to, and this time we really just all wanted to do the same things which was great.
'We even saw a stingray when we were snorkelling near some rocks – although we didn't get too close.'
The evenings, with the family all sat having dinner, were also Michelle's favourite part of the holiday, due to the 'exquisite' food available at the restaurants, all of which is included.
'The food is just another level,' she adds. 'It's just wonderful. Even at the buffet, for breakfast or lunch, you get served your food, so it doesn't feel like a buffet.'
'Also, being at the beach with the kids was so special,' she continues. 'A private beach makes such a difference in the Caribbean.
'There wasn't anybody coming up asking you if you want to buy constantly, which was a real nice breath of fresh air when you're on holiday.
'It definitely felt less touristy and a lot more local there, even though it's a resort.
'Because it's so big, it was so sparse, and you see different people all the time.'
Despite this, Michelle and her family still managed to make some friends at Casa de Campo, after AJ and Faith met another set of similar-age siblings at the resort's teenage camp, where 'the kids could go off and use the pool table and play darts and just come and go as they wished'.
She says: 'We spent the last couple of days together, us two families, which was lovely, and we had a final meal with them too.
'That makes a holiday for the children, when they make friends.'
Michelle and her family had such a good time at Casa de Campo they're already looking to return next year during the school holidays.
'We are definitely going back 100%,' she finishes. 'We could go back and experience all new things and still not be done with what's available.
'It was just the perfect trip. You couldn't wish for anything more.'

Michelle Keegan shows off her figure in a high street Sicilian-inspired dress
The yellow bandeau maxi dress has 'holiday to Italy' written all over it... Looking at Michelle Keegan, you'd never know she only gave birth a couple of months ago. The star looks like the epitome of health and happiness in new holiday snaps from her sun-soaked escape to Spain with her husband, Mark Wright, and baby daughter Palma. And though we have plenty of questions we'd like to ask Michelle – largely to do with her hair, skincare and fitness regime – we also instantly needed to know where her gorgeous yellow crochet dress is from. Posing for a sunset snap, Michelle pens the caption: "Wore my latest Very collection every night on holiday, which was perfect because my holiday packing was done months ago". Though she hasn't yet shared the link to the dress, we can confirm the exact piece is Very's Crochet Bandeau Midaxi Dress from Michelle own summer 2025 collection. The f lattering midaxi will set you back £80, despite looking like it could be a designer piece for hundreds of pounds more. If there's one way to channel holiday glow without hopping on a plane, it's slipping into Michelle's crochet dress. Drenched in a sunshine-yellow hue that practically radiates serotonin, this fitted and flattering number is the gown equivalent of golden hour. The bandeau neckline is perfect for showing off bronzed shoulders, and the crochet texture gives it a Mediterranean holiday feel. Like you've nipped into a fancy boutique and picked up the latest dress. Fit-wise, it's a knockout. The flattering fit-and-flare silhouette hugs in all the right places (your waist), while the midaxi length keeps it classy enough for a posh lunch or a rooftop cocktail party. Whether you're pairing it with strappy heels or dressing it down with espadrilles, it's one of those rare pieces that does all the talking while you sip your spritz. Though Michelle might be inclined to share her love for the piece since it has her name on it, customers don't have the same loyalty – and they're still sharing how much they love the holiday essential dress. One happy buyer pens: "This is such a lovely dress .it's such a lovely colour and fit and I cant wait to wear it to a wedding i have in Sicily." Another adds: "Bought this for summer party. Arrived promptly and is better than I expected. Size is accurate and quality is exceptional, zip is almost invisible and lining attached to the crochet all signs of a well made item. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this dress to everyone," while a third points out that the crochet "isn't for her", but that it's still a lovely piece. We've been keenly keeping an eye on Michelle this past month to see if we can get any new-mum styling tips from her, and so far we've been treated some great outfit links to rival this one. Just the other week, she stepped out wearing Very's Faux Suede Blonde Jacket, £60 online, and had us all running to pick up our own version of it. So if all this rain means you've been looking for a new lightweight jacket, Michelle's faux suede piece is the perfect way to nail the suede trend. Soft, stylish and easily layerable, it's got a vintage-meets-modern style that all the top fashion girls are loving right now. Away from Michelle's wardrobe, we're also loving Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid's Faye Double Cloth Dress from Boden. She wore it this week to host the morning show, and highlighted its striking floral print in hues of blue, yellow, red, pink and green.

EXCLUSIVE Woman captures moment brazen 'thief' tries to break into car while filming TikTok video
A woman captured the moment a brazen 'thief' tried to break into her mother's car whilst she was filming a TikTok video. Madison Bush, 19, was cleaning her room on Tuesday and recording a video for a friend when she noticed a man and woman standing outside her home in what appeared to be a heated argument. But the scene quickly took a dramatic turn as the hairdressing student from Ashurst, Kent, glanced out of the window, only to spot the man allegedly trying to break into her mother's car in broad daylight. Acting on instinct, Madison threw open her window and confronted the suspected thief, interrupting the brazen attempt as the situation unfolded just metres from her family home. Speaking to MailOnline, the 19-year-old said: 'I was just sending a video to my boyfriend's sister of me cleaning my room and jamming and saw the two people outside. 'It was a man and a woman, and they were standing outside my house, and it looked like they were arguing. 'I thought nothing of it at first because they walked awa,y but then the guy came back around my house. 'He tried the door to my [mum's] car, and I literally had the adrenaline rush of opening my window to shout at him. 'He was clearly trying to find any cash or things of value that he could take because he wouldn't have been able to take the car without the keys.' In the video, which was shared on social media, the man, wearing a black hoodie, black trousers and some white trainers, seemingly tried to open the car. After seeing this, she quickly opened her window and shouted: 'Erm... Excuse me.' At this, the man casually walks away, and when she tries to get his attention, he lifts his hand, which prompts her to say: 'Thought so mate, keep walking.' She said: 'When I shouted at him, he just lifted his hands up as if to say he didn't have anything. 'I would have gone out to speak to him, but he just walked away.' The 19-year-old explained: 'A lot of stuff happens in my area. I guess there are just some idiotic people who think they can do whatever they want to do. 'It's quite scary that they feel like they can do this in broad daylight. I can't understand why people do it. 'He looked like a crack head. 'If I hadn't been there, I don't know what would have happened, but I am glad I was there.' Despite the shocking encounter, she did not report this to the police, saying: 'If something had been stolen, but because he just walked away, I didn't.'

Loose Women 'axing huge beloved part of show' in desperate bid to save money
ITV have decided to axe a huge part of Loose Women in a desperate bid to save money, it has been reported. It has been claimed that the show will be scrapping its live studio audience when it returns with a reduced schedule next year. This will come as a major blow to its panellists, who enjoy interacting with the audience as part of the programme. The decision to eliminate the studio audience is reportedly a cost-saving measure, with insiders revealing that it's a pricey feature due to being managed by an external company, which also provides security and a warmup person. However, for the presenters, this change is predicted to be a 'disaster'. This move follows ITV's announcement of significant budget cuts to their daytime schedule, from reducing Lorraine to 30 minutes and only broadcasting the show during school term times, to slashing Loose Women's output to 30 weeks a year. Sources have informed MailOnline that key talent on Loose Women are 'upset' about the loss of the live studio audience, as it's what distinguishes the show from Lorraine and Good Morning Britain. There are concerns that viewers may 'switch off' completely. * This is a breaking showbiz news story.
