L'Oréal launches 2025 employee share ownership plan

Fashion United4 days ago

L'Oréal has launched its fifth annual global employee share ownership plan, offering employees an opportunity to purchase company shares under specific terms. This 2025 initiative allows for employee participation in shareholding.
Available in 62 countries where permitted by local regulations, the 2025 plan offers up to 300,000 shares, an increase from the previous year. Employees can subscribe through a model where investment performance is tied to L'Oréal's stock price. Employer contributions will also be provided, subject to the plan conditions.
CEO Nicolas Hieronimus noted that over 45,000 employees are currently shareholders, representing approximately half of the workforce, and stated the intention to continue this initiative annually.
Shares acquired will be subject to a holding period, with exceptions adhering to the applicable laws in participating countries. These new shares will be listed on Euronext Paris under the existing ISIN code and will be fungible with current shares upon listing.
This plan aligns with L'Oréal's strategy to connect financial participation with the company's performance and growth. In 2024, L'Oréal reported 43.48 billion pound in sales and employed over 90,000 people globally. The company focuses on the intersection of beauty and technology, investing in research and innovation with global research centers and specialists."

L'Oréal eyes Medik8 for one billion euros

French beauty giant L'Oréal is reportedly poised to acquire cosmetics brand Medik8 for one billion euros, the Financial Times reported on Wednesday. Specialising in 'anti-ageing' skincare, Medik8 would sit within L'Oréal's dermatological beauty section alongside brands like La Roche-Posay and Vichy, which saw its revenue increase by 3.5 percent in the first quarter, to 2.1 billion euros. L'Oréal acquired Australian luxury cosmetics brand Aesop in 2023, then valued at 2.5 billion dollars. The French group, which owns brands Garnier, Maybelline and L'Oréal Paris, concluded partnerships the following year with Italian luxury group Prada around the Miu Miu brand and by increasing its stake in the Swiss laboratory Galderma. Medik8's main shareholder since 2021 has been the investment fund Inflexion, which supported the British brand in the launch of a new research centre and in its development in the US, according to its website. Founded in 2009 by Briton Elliot Isaacs, Medik8 has over 300 employees and boasts a 'made in the UK' product range. This article was translated to English using an AI tool. On the salon's launch day last week, guests were treated to a showcase of L'Oréal's 2025 trending hair colour 'Mocha Mousse'. This was combined with a knowledge-packed presentation. This presentation was given by L'Oréal Colleges' professional lead, Vikki Millar. (Image: Supplied) It detailed the collaboration between the prestigious beauty brand and the college. Lucky visitors were also offered a tour of the facility, as well as free consultations and goody bags packed full of prizes, including selfie ring lights, beauty products, and treatment vouchers. Dr. Siôn Peters-Flynn, the principal of Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor and Coleg Menai, officially opened the new addition. (Image: Supplied) After his welcome speech, he handed the mic to Vikki Millar, who detailed how the partnership with L'Oréal helps learners refine their skills and support their career growth. Next up was L'Oréal education consultant Emma Holmes. She works closely with the college's staff and students. (Image: Supplied) She gave a presentation on the trending 'Mocha Mousse' colour, illustrating its application in modern styles using L'Oréal products. This was done with assistance from their hair and beauty learners who modelled their work with clothes sponsored by Dolgellau boutique CoCo. In between tours and consultations, guests were treated to canapés made by the college's hospitality students. (Image: Supplied) These included creative flavours of profiteroles like 'banana and biscoff' and 'chocolate orange'. "We are all extremely pleased with the success of the hair and beauty salon launch in collaboration with L'Oréal," said Eifion Owen, Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor's service industries manager. "The facility has been refurbished to match the style and flexibility of one of the top salons in Manchester which learners visited before COVID. "We're very grateful to L'Oréal for our ongoing collaboration which allows our learners to develop their skills to the highest standards, and to CoCo clothing Dolgellau who kindly sponsored our event. "Overall, the launch was a very successful and professional experience for all our learners and guests."
