SolarEdge Expands U.S. Manufacturing in Salt Lake City, Utah

Business Wire25-06-2025
SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SolarEdge Technologies, Inc. ('SolarEdge' or 'the Company') (Nasdaq: SEDG), a global leader in smart energy technology, today announced the ramp up of its new manufacturing site in Salt Lake City, Utah. The site started manufacturing and shipping the SolarEdge 'USA Edition' Home Battery in Q1, marking a key milestone in the company's commitment to strengthening its domestic supply chain and supporting U.S. energy independence.
This new manufacturing site reflects SolarEdge's long-term strategy to expand its U.S. manufacturing footprint, fulfill the rising demand for American-made energy storage solutions, and help customers meet domestic content requirements. The Salt Lake City site joins previously announced facilities in Florida and Texas, contributing to over 2,000 newly created jobs. SolarEdge will now produce its full U.S. residential inverter, Power Optimizer, and battery product suite on American soil, supporting high-skill, local manufacturing jobs while bolstering America's clean energy infrastructure with domestically produced technology.
'In Utah, we are eager to be a part of our nation's energy solutions,' said U.S. Representative Celeste Maloy (R-Utah-2). 'It's time to build again in America, and this new manufacturing of battery storage solutions right here in Utah's 2nd Congressional district is evidence that our state is leading the charge.'
The SolarEdge Home Battery is a high-capacity energy storage system that integrates seamlessly with the Company's optimized inverters and power optimizers. Manufactured in the Salt Lake City facility, the battery features a dedicated SKU for simplified tracking and is designed to support compliance with domestic content requirements across a wide range of solar-plus-storage installations. The SolarEdge Home Battery is part of SolarEdge's advanced lineup of solar products that deliver smart, reliable, and incentive-ready solar-plus-storage solutions that help homeowners, TPOs, and commercial operators maximize energy savings, particularly during peak rate periods.
'We're proud to be part of the manufacturing resurgence in America, as our investments represent a strategic commitment to the domestic market,' said Marty Rogers, General Manager, SolarEdge. 'This expansion not only supports our growth objectives, but reinforces our promise to customers: reliable, high-quality technology with shorter lead times and greater supply chain stability. The American energy tax credits have enabled the company to onshore its manufacturing and add to the critical energy infrastructure needed to meet growing U.S. energy demand. As Congress considers changes to clean energy tax credits, we encourage lawmakers to recognize how vital these incentives are for businesses to continue investing in domestic manufacturing and drive America's future energy dominance.'

Tesla's new 3-row Model Y L may never hit US roads, Musk hints

Tesla TSLA.O CEO Elon Musk said the company's new six-seat Model Y variant, launched in China this week, might never enter production in the United States, citing the rise of self-driving vehicles. The Model Y L, built at Tesla's Shanghai factory, features a longer wheelbase and three rows of seats, and is priced at around $47,200. It went on sale in China on Tuesday, where Tesla faces mounting competition from domestic EV makers such as BYD and Xiaomi "This variant of the Model Y doesn't start production in the US until the end of next year," Musk said in a response to a post from an X user. "Might not ever, given the advent of self-driving in America." Musk did not elaborate on how the rise of autonomous driving would negate the need for a six-seater vehicle. Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment. New Tesla model announced: Tesla says longer, three-row Model Y L 'coming soon' to China Gas-powered SUVs with three rows have long been popular among American families. However, making profitable three-row EVs is still a challenging business for automakers. Recent policy changes by the Trump administration are also set to make electric vehicles more expensive, prompting automakers to focus more on smaller, cheaper variants. Tesla is also preparing to launch a cheaper Model Y variant, likely with fewer premium features, later this year, which Musk has described as "just a Model Y". Tesla has increasingly shifted focus in the U.S. to its robotaxi ambitions. The company launched a limited robotaxi service in Austin in June and aims to scale operations to half of U.S. population by the end of this year. Musk told investors last year that building traditional vehicles would be "pointless" in a self-driving future. Next year, Tesla is set to start production of the Cybercab, a dedicated two-seater robotaxi model without a steering wheel and pedals. Nitrogen Unveils AI Meeting Center, Delivers Free Upgrades to Advisors Using Investment Research & Proposal Generation Products

AUBURN, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Nitrogen, the leading developer of integrated risk tolerance, proposal generation, investment research, and planning software for advisors, today announced the availability of its Q3 2025 product release. During the launch event, Nitrogen showcased AI Meeting Center along with significant upgrades to Firm Controls, Risk Center, Planning Center, and Research Center—continuing its mission to equip advisors with the tools they need to deliver personalized advice at scale. 'Our mission is to empower the world to invest fearlessly, and that means building technology that removes friction, speeds up workflows, and strengthens client relationships,' said Justin Boatman, Chief Product Officer at Nitrogen. 'This release is packed with advisor feedback brought to life, from making meetings more efficient with AI Meeting Center to giving firms deeper visibility into their holdings, risk alignment, and portfolio optimization.' Highlights from the Q3 2025 Product Launch AI Meeting Center – A purpose-built, compliant meeting assistant that automatically generates curated, categorized, and editable meeting notes without storing transcripts or recordings. Integrated with Zoom, Google, Microsoft, Salesforce, and Redtail (with Wealthbox coming soon), AI Meeting Center is available at no additional cost for Nitrogen Complete users and as an add-on for other plans. This tool helps advisors save time, reduce administrative burden, and maintain compliance during client meetings. Firm Controls – Firm Controls redefines firm-wide oversight by seamlessly integrating advisor-defined households from Risk Center into a unified, turnkey dashboard. Designed to eliminate onboarding friction and minimize data inconsistencies, this evolution turns a historically manual implementation process into a fully automated, intelligent integration. Risk Center – Known for its risk alignment and proposal tools, Risk Center now includes: Asset Class Drill-Downs to identify the holdings driving exposure in each category. Smart Template Matching for file imports, letting AI detect and map formats automatically, no template selection required. Planning Center – The platform's financial planning tool now offers a more flexible interface with collapsible timeline events, making it easier to model client goals and retirement income streams. Research Center – Nitrogen's investment analytics and research hub now offers two major enhancements designed to help advisors evaluate and optimize portfolios more efficiently: Allocation Optimizer calculates the most efficient portfolio allocations to meet a client's target Risk Number. Advisors can set parameters, compare solutions, and implement changes instantly and all within the same workspace. Sandbox to test adjustments directly within the Stats tab without overriding existing data or leaving the page. Advisors can experiment with changes to an existing Portfolio or Model in real time, making Sandbox a popular tool for fine-tuning portfolio attributes before committing to a proposal. These updates come at a time when wealth management firms are under pressure to deliver more personalized advice, prove their value to clients, and navigate increasing regulatory scrutiny. AI Meeting Center addresses the industry-wide challenge of meeting administration, freeing up advisor time for higher-value client interactions. Expanded oversight tools like the Holdings Dashboard respond to firms' need for more transparency and control over portfolio risk. 'Technology that's built for advisors, not retrofitted from other industries, can directly impact client trust, growth, and retention,' Boatman added. 'We believe these capabilities will become table stakes for leading advisory firms in the next few years.' The Q3 2025 release is available now.
