BBC Scotland's Home of the Year presenter Danny Campbell has completed a 10k run wearing Crocs in memory of his younger brother who died from cancer.
Mr Campbell, an architect and presenter, ran the Glasgow Men's 10k in 50 minutes and 18 seconds, handing out copies of his younger brother Duncan's memoir The Suicide Notes throughout the race.

He wore Crocs during the race to "defy expectations" and to encourage people to "show up for yourself" after his 31-year-old brother's death last year, and regularly wears them during his appearances on television.

In 2024, Mr Campbell spoke openly about losing his younger sibling to an aggressive form of brain cancer, despite trying sonodynamic therapy in New York, describing his brother's health battle as "heroic".
The race, which started at the Riverside Museum and ended in Glasgow Green, is designed to get men of all ages talking about their mental health.
Mr Campbell, a father-of-three, said: "I ran the race in my brother's honour. Every squeaky step, Dunk was with me.

"He faced life's hardest challenges with humour, courage, and zero regard for convention. He made sure we laughed, even when things got impossibly hard. I'm just trying to follow in his footsteps.
"My Crocs are now a symbol of not giving a toss about other people's expectations.
"It's about showing up as yourself - and creating space for other people to do the same.

"Thanks to everyone who donated, cheered, or just shook their head in disbelief. I hope it made people smile. And maybe think about someone they could check in on today."
Writing on a JustGiving page, he said: "I'm doing this in memory of my little brother and to encourage others to share their struggles.
"Dunk fought a tough battle with cancer and had a profoundly positive impact on so many people. He was charismatic, quick-witted, honest and caring."

Mr Campbell, an ambassador for The Social Hub Glasgow, said that doing the race in Crocs was "a silly way to say something serious".
He raised £750 for the Mental Health Foundation, which praised his efforts at "normalising conversations around mental health".
Julie Cameron, associate director for Scotland at Mental Health Foundation, said: "We're incredibly grateful to Danny for taking on this challenge, raising both awareness and vital funds for the Mental Health Foundation.

"His message encouraging people, especially men, to talk about their struggles and seek support is more important than ever.
"While awareness has grown, stigma still holds many back from opening up about their struggles.
"Normalising conversations around mental health is crucial, and if an architect running a 10K in Crocs sparks those discussions, that's a win."

EXCLUSIVE BBC and TNT Sports SNUB Boris Becker for Wimbledon TV work despite now being allowed to return to UK after he was jailed and deported for £2.5m tax evasion

Boris Becker will not be part of the BBC 's Wimbledon coverage - even though he can now apply to return to the UK. The German has not worked for the Beeb at SW19 since he was jailed in April 2022 for hiding £2.5million in assets and loans to avoid paying debts. Becker was released after serving just eight months of his 30-month sentence, but was then deported from the country, barring him from even attending the All England Club. Under the terms of his conviction and deportation, the three-time Wimbledon champion has been eligible to apply to the Home Office for re-entry since October 2024 – and had hoped to be back at SW19 this summer. However, Mail Sport understands that the BBC has resisted the temptation to rehire Becker, even in the 40th-anniversary year of his famous first Wimbledon title. Becker – who remains the youngest men's singles champion following his 1985 victory aged just 17 – first joined the Beeb's team in 2002 and was a popular pundit and commentator for the broadcaster for two decades. Becker was deported from the UK in 2022 after serving eight months of a 30-month sentence for hiding £2.5million in assets and loans to avoid paying debts Since his release from prison, the 57-year-old has worked on TV again for TNT Sports, most recently appearing at the French Open earlier this month. But TNT also has no plans to use Becker at Wimbledon - despite the pay-TV channel now holding daily highlights rights, as well as sharing live coverage of the singles finals with the BBC. It remains unclear whether Becker will work for another broadcaster during the tournament or appear as a guest at the All England Club. The 57-year-old, who is releasing a book about his time in prison this September, has remained coy about a Wimbledon return in recent interviews. However, in April 2024, Becker admitted he was hopeful of making his commentary comeback at SW19 in 2025. 'I'm working hard with the authorities to have all the applications ready to be back for next year,' he said. 'I miss Wimbledon. It's part of my life. It's in my DNA. I don't think anyone alive knows Wimbledon as well as I do. But let's see who I'm working for there. 'After October 2024, I can be given permission from the Home Office. They decide, I don't decide.' It remains unclear whether Becker, who is releasing a book about his time in prison, will work for another broadcaster during the tournament or attend the Championships as a guest The BBC plan to unveil their Wimbledon line-up later this week, with Nick Kyrgios also omitted following his controversial stint last year. The Beeb faced strong criticism from senior MPs and women's campaigners for hiring the Australian bad boy in 2024, a year after he admitted assaulting an ex-girlfriend.

Naga Munchetty's row with 'devastated' mum over 'wicked' decision

BBC Breakfast star Naga Munchetty has opened up on a huge decision she made with her husband which has impacted her mum Naga Munchetty has confessed that her decision not to have children with husband James Haggar caused a "rift" with her mum before the duo eventually managed to smooth things over. The 50-year-old BBC host spoke to Ateh Jewel on HELLO!' s Second Act podcast about how her mother was originally "devastated" that Naga would not be giving her any grandchildren. However, Naga has said that her mum "gets it now" after seeing her daughter "thrive" in her television career and living a good life with her other half. She recalled: 'My mum was devastated; she was from a different generation. ‌ "(But she) gets it now. She is so proud of me and so happy to see me happy and thriving. It was a conscious (decision) and I am doing lots of other things and living a very fulfilling life. She doesn't think I've wasted an opportunity. My mum has evolved in that sense.' ‌ Naga and her husband James tied the knot in 2007 after dating for several years. He also enjoys a successful broadcasting career as a television director and broadcast consultant, directing Sky News' panel programme The Pledge. Before joining Sky, he had a long-term position as a senior director at CNBC International. He was also the senior director for Five News and OK TV for seven years prior to his role at CNBC, as well as a stint with ITV studios. The pair mutually decided to not have children due to their prosperous careers. Speaking to The Times, Naga previously shared her thoughts on the life choice. ‌ She said: "We never tried and I never miscarried, we just never really wanted them. We kept putting the decision off, then life got better for us, we became more selfish . . . and just didn't find the time." She also addressed strong opinions others had about her choice, telling The Sun that she was branded "wicked" for "denying" her mother of grandchildren, adding: "It's quite interesting, isn't it, how people react?" ‌ Naga also discussed why she thinks the conversations surrounding women deciding to not have kids have changed in recent years. She said: "Once-up-on-a-time it used to be thought that if you had a career you were being selfish because you were just focusing on the career. "I don't think that is the attitude now. ‌ "Now it is just too hard, it's too expensive with childcare, and (lack of) flexibility in workplace. It is hard. "I am not saying you shouldn't have children, but there are more barriers to having children enjoyably." Naga has also candidly opened up about her health issues due to adenomyosis, which is a gynaecological condition that sees the lining of the womb grow into the muscular wall. The presenter suffered with painful heavy bleeding, fainting, vomiting and severe aching every two and a half weeks for 32 years before she finally received a private medical diagnosis of adenomyosis. Naga now takes medication "to suppress the production of my hormones" which helps with the symptoms she struggled with.

Credit: BBC Zoe, played by Michelle Ryan, is back but some viewers are convinced she's not here for a cosy family catch-up. Instead, they think she's got unfinished business with Ross and stepson Joel, who rocked up alongside Vicki Fowler earlier this year for Martin Fowler's funeral. Since landing on the Square, teen Joel has been ruffling feathers - and while fans have uncovered a string of his dark secrets, one mystery remains... who's his real mum? EastEnders' Michelle Ryan reveals emotional secret reunion with soap cast before Zoe Slater's bombshell return 'It all happened at the right time. 'I'd already been thinking about a return because I'd met up with Kacey Ainsworth (Little Mo) and Kim Medcalf (Sam Mitchell) and we were reminiscing our fond memories of the show, and I'd also joined social media and saw that there was still a lot of love for the character. 'It just so happened that at the same time, EastEnders had announced a new Exec who was keen to explore the potential of a return as he was such a massive fan of Zoe and the Slaters, so both of our worlds aligned at the right time, and I'm so excited to be back. 'When I was pitched the storylines, and when I read the scripts, I knew it was the right decision.' EastEnders new boss, Executive Producer Ben Wadey added: 'Before I even stepped into the role, Zoe Slater was on my wish-list of returnees as, although we haven't seen her on screen for twenty years, her character has transcended time due to her popular storylines.'
