
Changes announced in DSC exam dates
Vijayawada: The State government has decided to celebrate International Yoga Day on June 21 in a grand and prestigious manner.
In view of this, the dates of the DSC exams that were scheduled to be held on June 20 and 21 have been revised, announced Mega DSC–2025 Convenor M V Krishna Reddy in a statement on Saturday.
He stated that the change has been made to avoid any inconvenience to candidates who would otherwise face travel disruptions during the Yoga Day celebrations.
The revised dates for these candidates are July 1 and 2.
The updated hall tickets reflecting the new exam dates and centres will be made available on the AP MEGA DSC–2025 official website: https://apdsc.apcfss.in from June 25, 2025.
Candidates are requested to take note of the changes, download the revised hall tickets and attend the examinations as per the new schedule, urged M V Krishna Reddy, Convenor, Mega DSC–2025.

NDMC to host International Yoga Day events at 8 spots in Lutyens' Delhi
The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) will celebrate the International Day of Yoga on 21 June by organising mass yoga sessions at eight iconic locations in the Lutyens' Delhi area. The sessions, scheduled from 6:00 am to 8:00 am, will follow the 2025 theme 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health', which promotes holistic well-being and environmental consciousness. According to an official statement issued on Friday, the Mass Yoga Protocol Programme will be held at the lawn at Shanti Path in Chanakyapuri, Lodhi Garden, Talkatora Garden, the south lawn of Kartavya Path, IAS Residential Complex in New Moti Bagh, Sanjay Jheel in Laxmi Bai Nagar, Central Park in Connaught Place, and Pandara Park. Local residents, government officials and members of the general public have been invited to participate. NDMC officials noted that the yoga sessions aim to encourage citizens to incorporate yoga into their daily routines, highlighting its role in promoting resilience, mental balance and environmental stewardship. 'This is the first occasion when, on behalf of the Delhi government, I myself, my cabinet colleagues, all MPs, MLAs and officers will participate together in a historic event of yoga,' she wrote, noting that the event echoes the Prime Minister's message of 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health'. A celebration of India's ancient wellness tradition Celebrated annually on 21 June, the International Day of Yoga honours yoga as an ancient Indian discipline that nurtures physical, mental and spiritual well-being. The idea to observe an international yoga day was first proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address to the United Nations General Assembly in 2014. He recommended 21 June—the Summer Solstice and the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere—as a symbolic date to promote health, harmony and global unity through yoga.

Delhi: Lodhi Garden, Shantipath among NDMC's 8 yoga event venues
New Delhi: The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) will celebrate the International Yoga Day (IYD) 2025 on Saturday at eight iconic venues, including Lodhi Garden and Shantipath, the civic agency's Vice Chairperson Kuljeet Singh Chahal said. Chahal inspected several designated venues on Friday to review the on-ground preparations and said the main yoga day events will be held at Kartavya Path (South Lawn), Lodhi Garden, Talkatora Garden, Lawn at Shantipath, Central Park (Connaught Place), Pandara Park, New Moti Bagh (IAS Residences), and Sanjay Jheel (Lakshmi Bai Nagar). During the inspection he assessed logistical arrangements, venue readiness, signage, participation planning, and coordination with yoga partner institutions. Chahal emphasised that this initiative is part of NDMC's broader commitment to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, wherein health and wellness are fundamental to achieving national goals. 'Promoting yoga strengthens the foundation of a healthy and aware citizenry. A fit and mindful population is the real strength of a developed India,' he said. He said prominent personalities and VVIPs are expected to participate at various locations to perform yoga alongside citizens. 'It is our responsibility to ensure that every site is thoroughly inspected, and all necessary arrangements are in place, particularly from the safety and security point of view,' he said. These sessions will be conducted in collaboration with leading yoga organizations, including Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, Art of Living, Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Gayatri Parivar, among others. Each venue is expected to see participation ranging from 300 to 2,000 individuals, representing a vibrant cross-section of the community. Chahal appealed to citizens to participate wholeheartedly in the IDY celebrations and adopt yoga as a daily practice. 'A physically, mentally, and spiritually healthy society is essential to realize the dream of Viksit Bharat by 2047,' he added.

Students of Gnyana Sudha PU Science College in Karnataka's Bidar dist. excel in NEET 2025
Students of the Gnyana Sudha PU Science College have delivered an exceptional performance in NEET-2025, earning laurels for the institution and bringing pride to Karnataka's Bidar district. Among the standout achievers, Shreya Uday Patil secured an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 7,245 with a score of 520 out of 720, qualifying for free medical admission. Another student, Shrikanth Bhapurao, achieved a notable AIR of 674 under the CAT category, scoring 521 out of 720. In total, 15 students from the college have qualified for free medical seats this year.
