‘I was too shy to tell Bieber how much I loved him': Lisa from Blackpink's honest playlist
The first song I fell in love with
I'm an only child. My older cousin would come round to play at my house, and she was a big fan of Britney Spears. She put on … Baby One More Time and I was like: 'What is this song? I love it.' I watched the music video and fell in love with her.
The first record I bought
I was a big fan of K-pop band BigBang before I moved from Thailand to Korea. I bought Taeyang's first solo album Solar from Myeongdong, Korea's famous shopping and fashion district where all the tourists go.
The song that gets me up in the morning
Snooze by SZA is not too slow and not too upbeat, so it's really nice to hear when I've just woken up and am trying to get ready. Then I'll put on a bit of Eternal Sunshine by Ariana Grande.
The song I do at karaoke
When I was younger, my friend and I used to love singing Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen. It's a fun song.
The song that makes me cry
There are a lot of different styles on my new album, but Dream is the only one that's sad. It's about a girl who can't meet a certain person, so she can only dream about them. If you can relate to that, I guess it would make you cry, too.
The song I know every lyric to
Everyone knows the lyrics to Baby by Justin Bieber and Ludacris, don't they? I think everyone was a Bieber fan when they were young. I met him a few years ago, but just for a quick hi. I didn't tell him how much I loved him because I'm too shy.
The song I can no longer listen to
This is a bit savage, but probably Boombayah by Blackpink. Not because of the song, it's just that the dance moves are really aggressive. There's a lot of whipping your head, so it's really intense to perform.
The song that changed my life
I auditioned for Blackpink in Thailand by singing Ice Cream Freeze (Let's Chill) by Hannah Montana, so Miley Cyrus. There must have been 1,000 people, so I never thought I would get picked. It's a fun song and good to dance to, so I think it really suited my style.

The song I secretly like
You Were Beautiful by K-pop band Day6, who everybody loves. I love them too, but a bit more secretly low-key.
The best song to play at a party
Work by Rihanna lifts everyone's feelings up. Have I met her? Actually, yes, and I did tell her how much I love her.
The song I streamed most recently
Someone from my team put on Hello Miss Johnson by Jack Harlow and I loved it. I was like: 'Oh, that's my vibe.'
Lisa's solo album Alter Ego is out now.

Pop singer Jessie J says she has been diagnosed with early breast cancer
The English pop singer Jessie J says she has been diagnosed with breast cancer and will undergo surgery after her performance at the London music festival Capital's Summertime Ball next weekend. Jessie J, 37, shared the news in an Instagram video on Wednesday. 'I was diagnosed with early breast cancer,' she said in the clip. ' Cancer sucks in any form, but I'm holding onto the word 'early'." 'It's a very dramatic way to get a boob job. I am going to disappear for a bit after Summertime Ball to have my surgery, and I will come back with massive (expletive) and more music.' The annual Summertime Ball will be held at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, June 15. She told her social media audience that she felt compelled to share her diagnosis. 'I just wanted to be open and share it,' she said. 'One, because, selfishly, I do not talk about it enough. I'm not processing it because I'm working so hard. I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support and also their own stories. I'm an open book. It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much similar and worse – that's the bit that kills me.' The Grammy-nominated Jessie J has long been celebrated for her robust soprano and R&B-informed pop hits, like the 2014 collaboration with Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande, 'Bang Bang,' and 2011's 'Domino.' She has released five albums across her career, most recently, 2018's Christmas album, 'This Christmas Day.' She has been releasing new music in 2025, including the singles 'Living My Best Life' and 'No Secrets.' A new album is expected later this year. She has a son, Sky Safir Cornish Colman, born in 2023. A representative for Jessie J did not immediately respond to The Associated Press' request for comment.
