NYC Exhibit Celebrates The Solo Artistry Of BTS Member Jimin

The exhibit offers insight into Jimin's solo artistry. 'The Truth Untold,' an exhibit that celebrates the musical journey of BTS member Jimin, can be seen in New York City this June. Jimin is a singer, songwriter and member of the world's most popular k-pop band. He's recognized globally for his many contributions to the band's chart-topping hits, which include 'Butter,' 'Fake Love' and 'Permission to Dance." Jimin not only adds his voice to the band's distinctive sound, but with a background in modern dance he plays a prominent role in BTS' exceptional choreography. The personal and immersive exhibit documents Jimin's journey as a solo artist. His own solo discography includes 'Lie,' 'Serendipity,' and 'With You,' which was on the soundtrack for the hit Korean TV series Our Blues. Jimi also recorded 'Vibe' in collaboration with k-pop icon Taeyang. Jimin's first solo album 'Face,' released in March 2023, made him the first South Korean solo artist to top the Billboard Hot 100. 'The Truth Untold" exhibition incorporates various installations, such as a large media wall and distortion mirrors, visually representing the album's themes of introspection, confusion, and vulnerability. It features the main track, 'Who,' a song that spent 44 weeks on Billboard's Global 200. The exhibit's vintage-style listening room evokes the aesthetic of his "Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco)" music, while video and diverse photo zones are designed to provide visitors with memorable, interactive encounters. The exhibit features his handwritten production diaries and lyric notebooks, which offer insight into his creative process, as well as a curated display of his iconic fashion and props worn during various performances and music videos. There are trophies and awards that Jimin received for his solo work, plus recreations of music video sets from "Like Crazy" and 'Set Me Free.' The exhibit is organized by BigHit Music and Hybe, hosted by Paradise E&A and promoted by the global content agency MondayMorningCreativeLab (MMCL). 'The Truth Untold' will run from May 31 to June 29, 2025 at 30 Wall Street in New York City. The exhibit was previously displayed in Los Angeles.

M'sian Fans Slam Organiser Over Ticketing & Scalping Issues For G-Dragon's Upcoming KL Concert

Ever since ticket details for G-Dragon (권지용)'s upcoming 2-day 'Übermensch' concert in Kuala Lumpur were announced, fans have been eagerly waiting on their screens to secure seats. Pre-sales went live yesterday (Monday, 26th May) from 4pm to midnight, and will be followed by the HLB pre-sale, which goes live later today (Tuesday, 27th May) at 3pm. However, just like before, fans were left deeply dissatisfied with the ticketing website. Not only did the online service keep crashing, but local concertgoers discovered that most of the tickets had allegedly been purchased by overseas fans. Here's the story: Last night, a fan wrote to G-Dragon on Instagram to inform him about the ticketing situation for his upcoming concert in Kuala Lumpur. According to the fan, most of the tickets had allegedly been purchased by overseas buyers using a bypass to block Malaysian IP addresses. 'It's shocking and deeply disappointing. How can something like this happen? These were not sold by fair means,' the user wrote, while calling out the organiser, Star Planet Malaysia, and accusing them of allowing foreign bots to mass-purchase the tickets. Other Malaysian fans echoed the claims, with many coming forward to criticise the organiser and the ticketing website, with some suspecting that the tickets had been sold to insiders. Fans also compared the situation to Taeyang's concert, noting that the ticketing process for his show was not as frustrating as for his fellow BIGBANG member's. To add insult to injury, Malaysian fans not only had to deal with overseas buyers but also had to report local and foreign scalpers for mass-buying tickets and reselling them online. As seen in the screenshots above, many have claimed to have secured seats for the 'Power' artist's two-day concert and are now offering to sell them, supposedly at original prices. Some have also started reselling them on Viagogo at supposedly discounted prices. Of course, as much as they would love to see their idol live, fans are not so easily fooled by these unauthorised ticketing services, as there have been multiple reports of them turning out to be scammers. At the time of writing, Star Planet Malaysia has yet to address the ticketing issues, but we do hope that true Malaysian G-Dragon fans will get the chance to see the rapper live on stage this July. Generate Key Takeaways [Source] NASA astronaut Jonny Kim, the first Korean American to fly to space, recently shared a video of himself preparing and eating a burger made with Taeyang gochujang aboard the International Space Station (ISS). In an Instagram post dated April 30, the 41-year-old introduced his 'ranger burger,' writing, "If you've lived on MREs (military-issued meals ready to eat), you've probably tried some creative field recipes." The ranger burger is a simple hamburger that U.S. soldiers make as instant food, similar to Korea's 'gundaria.' Kim's version featured steak, cheese and potato gratin stacked on wheat snack bread, topped generously with gochujang. 'I miss my family's cooking, and this was quite fitting,' he wrote. He took a photo of the floating meal inside the Unity module, which connects the U.S. and Russian segments of the station. The module contains a shared table where astronauts and cosmonauts often gather for group meals. Taeyang to host 1st solo fan meetup tour

Taeyang of Big Bang is set to host his first solo fan meetings in Japan and Korea, announced agency The Black Label on Tuesday. He is set to greet fans in Seoul on July 26 before heading over to six cities in Japan — Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Osaka, Shizuoka, Tokyo and Miyagi — through late November. The event's title, '01,' signifies both his first event that places fans at the forefront and "eternity." When combining the Korean word for zero (yeong) with "one," it reads as "yeongwon," the Korean word for eternal. Taeyang's return to fans in Japan comes less than a year after holding concerts in Tokyo and Osaka for his 'The Light Year' tour. Launched in August last year and ending with an encore gig in February, the tour was his first as a solo act in seven years.

‘I was too shy to tell Bieber how much I loved him': Lisa from Blackpink's honest playlist

The first song I fell in love with I'm an only child. My older cousin would come round to play at my house, and she was a big fan of Britney Spears. She put on … Baby One More Time and I was like: 'What is this song? I love it.' I watched the music video and fell in love with her. The first record I bought I was a big fan of K-pop band BigBang before I moved from Thailand to Korea. I bought Taeyang's first solo album Solar from Myeongdong, Korea's famous shopping and fashion district where all the tourists go. The song that gets me up in the morning Snooze by SZA is not too slow and not too upbeat, so it's really nice to hear when I've just woken up and am trying to get ready. Then I'll put on a bit of Eternal Sunshine by Ariana Grande. The song I do at karaoke When I was younger, my friend and I used to love singing Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen. It's a fun song. The song that makes me cry There are a lot of different styles on my new album, but Dream is the only one that's sad. It's about a girl who can't meet a certain person, so she can only dream about them. If you can relate to that, I guess it would make you cry, too. The song I know every lyric to Everyone knows the lyrics to Baby by Justin Bieber and Ludacris, don't they? I think everyone was a Bieber fan when they were young. I met him a few years ago, but just for a quick hi. I didn't tell him how much I loved him because I'm too shy. The song I can no longer listen to This is a bit savage, but probably Boombayah by Blackpink. Not because of the song, it's just that the dance moves are really aggressive. There's a lot of whipping your head, so it's really intense to perform. The song that changed my life I auditioned for Blackpink in Thailand by singing Ice Cream Freeze (Let's Chill) by Hannah Montana, so Miley Cyrus. There must have been 1,000 people, so I never thought I would get picked. It's a fun song and good to dance to, so I think it really suited my style. I love them too, but a bit more secretly low-key. The best song to play at a party Work by Rihanna lifts everyone's feelings up. Have I met her? Actually, yes, and I did tell her how much I love her. The song I streamed most recently Someone from my team put on Hello Miss Johnson by Jack Harlow and I loved it. I was like: 'Oh, that's my vibe.' Lisa's solo album Alter Ego is out now.
