M'sian Fans Slam Organiser Over Ticketing & Scalping Issues For G-Dragon's Upcoming KL Concert
Ever since ticket details for G-Dragon (권지용)'s upcoming 2-day 'Übermensch' concert in Kuala Lumpur were announced, fans have been eagerly waiting on their screens to secure seats. Pre-sales went live yesterday (Monday, 26th May) from 4pm to midnight, and will be followed by the HLB pre-sale, which goes live later today (Tuesday, 27th May) at 3pm.
However, just like before, fans were left deeply dissatisfied with the ticketing website. Not only did the online service keep crashing, but local concertgoers discovered that most of the tickets had allegedly been purchased by overseas fans. Here's the story:
Last night, a fan wrote to G-Dragon on Instagram to inform him about the ticketing situation for his upcoming concert in Kuala Lumpur. According to the fan, most of the tickets had allegedly been purchased by overseas buyers using a bypass to block Malaysian IP addresses. 'It's shocking and deeply disappointing. How can something like this happen? These were not sold by fair means,' the user wrote, while calling out the organiser, Star Planet Malaysia, and accusing them of allowing foreign bots to mass-purchase the tickets.
Other Malaysian fans echoed the claims, with many coming forward to criticise the organiser and the ticketing website, with some suspecting that the tickets had been sold to insiders. Fans also compared the situation to Taeyang's concert, noting that the ticketing process for his show was not as frustrating as for his fellow BIGBANG member's.
To add insult to injury, Malaysian fans not only had to deal with overseas buyers but also had to report local and foreign scalpers for mass-buying tickets and reselling them online. As seen in the screenshots above, many have claimed to have secured seats for the 'Power' artist's two-day concert and are now offering to sell them, supposedly at original prices. Some have also started reselling them on Viagogo at supposedly discounted prices.
Of course, as much as they would love to see their idol live, fans are not so easily fooled by these unauthorised ticketing services, as there have been multiple reports of them turning out to be scammers. At the time of writing, Star Planet Malaysia has yet to address the ticketing issues, but we do hope that true Malaysian G-Dragon fans will get the chance to see the rapper live on stage this July.

M-bike rides are grandma's cancer ‘therapy'
Compiled by ARFA YUNUS, and R. ARAVINTHAN NEITHER age nor illness has slowed down 56-year-old Syarifah Mohamed, who rides solo across hundreds of kilometres on her motorcycle. A mother of four and breast cancer survivor, Syarifah turned to biking as a form of therapy after being diagnosed with stage-three cancer in 2016. According to Harian Metro, she underwent 23 sessions of chemotherapy between 2017 and 2019, which forced her to resign from her job as a petrol station cashier. 'During recovery, while I was still weak, I stumbled upon a motorcycle community online and felt inspired to explore the country on two wheels,' she recalled. Syarifah began with a humble Honda EX5, later riding her children's Yamaha bikes before buying a SYM Jet 14 scooter of her own. Now a grandmother of five, Syarifah enjoys her weekend rides alone, relishing the freedom to stop wherever she wants, whether to eat, pray or take in the scenery. Last October, she upgraded to a Modenas Dominar D400, seeking better comfort for longer journeys. Though she still experiences occasional numbness after extended rides, Syarifah no longer takes medication and continues with regular health checks. 'Riding makes me feel alive and gives me a sense of freedom. After surviving cancer, I've realised I want to spend my time doing what truly brings me joy,' she said. > Singer Nabila Razali celebrated her husband Nik Iruwan's birthday with a touching post on Instagram, expressing gratitude for leading their family with his love and tenderness. 'Thank you for being the man who leads our family with compassion,' she wrote, as quoted by Kosmo!. The 33-year-old reflected on how fatherhood has softened Nik Iruwan, once known for his stoic demeanour. Since the arrival of their son five months ago, even the smallest things like baby socks and yawns have begun to stir his emotions. 'Fatherhood has gently transformed your soul in the most beautiful way. I've witnessed this new side of you over the past few months,' she shared. Nabila praised his selflessness and devotion, recalling quiet moments when he checks on both her and the baby in the middle of the night, and still finds ways to make her laugh despite only getting two hours of sleep. 'You've embraced this new chapter with love and strength. I fall in love with you all over again, every day,' the post continued. Nabila and Nik Iruwan, a businessman from Kelantan, tied the knot on Nov 18, 2023. They welcomed their baby boy in December, though they have kept his name and face private for now. ‘Flying roti canai' wins over food lovers at Osaka expo
OSAKA: The 'Flying Roti Canai' is not just being flipped into the air; it has soared to stardom at Expo 2025 Osaka, becoming a sensation at the Malaysia Pavilion. With dough spinning through the air like edible art and the buttery aroma drawing crowds from across the globe, this humble flatbread is stealing the spotlight and appetites. Some visitors are willing to queue for up to two hours just to get a taste of the roti canai, expertly hurled by Muhammad Muiz Ruzaini and Mohamad Zul Imran Zulkifle in a dazzling display of culinary acrobatics. 'Many have praised the deliciousness of the roti canai and given very positive feedback, both in terms of taste and our presentation. 'After eating, many would come up and say 'oishi' (delicious). Some even repeat it seven times,' said Muhammad Muiz, adding that most of the visitors were from Japan, South Korea and China. The Kedahan said he did not expect to be selected as part of the Malaysian delegation to Expo 2025 Osaka, where he has been proudly showcasing the rich flavours of Malaysian cuisine on the world stage, Bernama reported. Flipping fantastic: Muhammad Muiz in action at the Malaysia Pavilion Cafe during Expo 2025 Osaka which runs from April 13 to Oct 13. — Bernama Each roti canai is served piping hot with chicken curry and dhal, all for 1,680 yen (RM49.82). Daily sales average between 1,000 and 1,600 pieces, underscoring its growing popularity among visitors. Roti canai is a pan-fried flatbread and a popular breakfast staple in Malaysia, made from a mixture of flour, water, salt, butter and eggs. The dough is skilfully stretched, flipped, and spun in the air to create a layered texture, crispy and flaky on the outside, but soft and fluffy on the inside. In 2023, TasteAtlas, a global food database, ranked roti canai among the 'Top 100 Best Street Foods in the World'. Mohamad Zul Imran, a roti canai maker from Penang, expressed hope that the growing popularity of the dish at the Expo would help elevate it on the global culinary map and inspire more tourists to visit Malaysia. 'I hope the Malaysia Pavilion roti canai becomes the number one dish at Expo 2025,' he said. Japanese visitor Yoko Yoshinaga described the dish as 'sweet, with a unique texture and addictive qualities'. 'This is my second time having roti canai. I first saw it on X, and the unforgettable taste brought me back. I lined up again just to relive the experience,' she said. Yoshinaga, who visited Malaysia 30 years ago, praised the nation's development, calling it a peaceful and modern country. Another visitor, Hanako Sekimukai, who tried roti canai for the first time, said she was pleasantly surprised by its flavour. 'I've been to Malaysia before, but I never had the chance to try roti canai. The chicken curry served with it wasn't too spicy, which made it even more enjoyable,' she said, adding that the cultural performances at the pavilion brought back fond memories of her time in Malaysia. Spanning 2,654.52sq m across three floors, the Malaysia Pavilion reflects the nation's diverse culture and dynamic economy. Under the theme 'Weaving a Future in Harmony', the pavilion highlights Malaysia's commitment to a sustainable, inclusive and forward-looking future.
