'Kucing 3': Fans LOL At Scalper's Translation Fail While Reselling G-Dragon KL Concert Tickets
Ever since pre-sales for K-pop icon G-Dragon (권지용)'s upcoming concert in Kuala Lumpur went live, all hell broke loose. Concert organiser Star Planet has faced heavy backlash after fans discovered that the majority of pre-sale tickets had been purchased in bulk by foreign buyers using a bypass. In addition, both local and international scalpers have already begun reselling the tickets online. Speaking of scalpers, two individuals stood out for entirely different reasons. One openly admitted to their illegal activity, while the other didn't try hard enough to convince a fan to buy a ticket. Here's what happened: Let's begin with the more light-hearted case. G-Dragon fans have been actively warning others about scalpers, as they could potentially be scammers. One local Twitter user, @/95sflo, shared a screenshot of a DM (Direct Message) they received from a scalper who attempted to trick them into buying Category 3 (CAT 3) tickets for the idol's two-day 'Übermensch' concert at Axiata Arena. However, the scalper's message made it obvious that they are a foreigner, as they had used a translation tool without checking if the translated text was accurate. The DM read: 'Adakah anda masih berminat dengan ticket kucing 3?', a sentence in which the short-form 'CAT' had been mistranslated to 'kucing', the Malay word for 'cat', as in the animal. This led to the fan's hilarious response, asking if the scalper was selling an 'oyen' (orange cat). The post quickly went viral, with many amused by the scalper's failed attempt to deceive the Twitter user. Even TV presenter Hani Fadzil found the situation hilarious. A few suggested that Malaysian fans respond in their regional dialects to confuse foreign scammers, who may be relying on translation tools to convince potential victims. As for the other viral scalper, many took to Twitter to expose an individual named Aqil Zubir, who fans claimed to be notorious for running an unauthorised ticketing service. He posted on his Instagram Story that he had successfully bulk-purchased G-Dragon tickets and planned to resell them at RM900 above the original price. One fan managed to show their conversation with the scalper, where he admitted to using a bypass to secure the pre-sale tickets. Aqil has since made his account private after receiving backlash from fans over his unauthorised ticket purchases. At the time of writing, Star Planet has still yet to address the ticketing and scalping issues, despite being bombarded with messages from fans online. Let's hope the situation doesn't get worse during the General Sales that will go live tomorrow (Thursday, 29th May) from 2pm onwards. Sources: Twitter (1)(2)

#NSTviral: Malaysian fans frustrated by G-Dragon concert pre-sale glitches, claims of ticket scalping
KUALA LUMPUR: The much-anticipated ticket pre-sale for South Korean rapper G-Dragon's "Übermensch" concert in Kuala Lumpur has left many local fans disappointed and frustrated following technical glitches and allegations of ticket scalping. Pre-sale tickets for the two-day concert went live yesterday from 4pm to midnight, with a second round of pre-sales for Hong Leong Bank cardholders scheduled for 3pm today. However, fans reported multiple issues on the ticketing platform, including website crashes and allegations of overseas buyers dominating purchases. A check on social media platform X under the hashtag #GDRAGONinKL revealed widespread dissatisfaction, with numerous fans alleging that foreign bots had bypassed the ticketing system, blocking Malaysian IP addresses in the process. One fan even took to Instagram to voice concerns directly to G-Dragon, whose real name is Kwon Ji-yong, claiming that the majority of the pre-sale tickets were secured by non-Malaysian buyers. The fan accused the organiser of failing to implement adequate safeguards to prevent mass ticket purchases by bots. "It's shocking and deeply disappointing. How can something like this happen? These were not sold by fair means," the fan wrote, while urging the organiser to investigate. "We, the Malaysian fans, demand full transparency and a thorough investigation into the G-Dragon Kuala Lumpur membership pre-sale, including who secured the tickets and how many were allocated to Malaysian fans. We are disappointed with the event," wrote user @t_o_p_class. Another check on the hashtag at around 7pm showed users promoting resale of the concert tickets, with some offering between two and nine tickets each. Adding to fans' frustration were reports of both local and foreign scalpers offering the tickets for resale online—some at face value, others at inflated prices. Screenshots shared on X showed tickets being listed on secondary marketplaces, with sellers claiming to offer discounted rates. Despite the temptation, many fans have urged others to avoid unauthorised resellers, citing past incidents of scams involving fake tickets and invalid entries. As of press time, the organiser has yet to issue an official statement addressing the ticketing concerns. G-Dragon's "Übermensch" concert is set to take place in Kuala Lumpur this July.

M'sian Fans Slam Organiser Over Ticketing & Scalping Issues For G-Dragon's Upcoming KL Concert
Ever since ticket details for G-Dragon (권지용)'s upcoming 2-day 'Übermensch' concert in Kuala Lumpur were announced, fans have been eagerly waiting on their screens to secure seats. Pre-sales went live yesterday (Monday, 26th May) from 4pm to midnight, and will be followed by the HLB pre-sale, which goes live later today (Tuesday, 27th May) at 3pm. However, just like before, fans were left deeply dissatisfied with the ticketing website. Not only did the online service keep crashing, but local concertgoers discovered that most of the tickets had allegedly been purchased by overseas fans. Here's the story: Last night, a fan wrote to G-Dragon on Instagram to inform him about the ticketing situation for his upcoming concert in Kuala Lumpur. According to the fan, most of the tickets had allegedly been purchased by overseas buyers using a bypass to block Malaysian IP addresses. 'It's shocking and deeply disappointing. How can something like this happen? These were not sold by fair means,' the user wrote, while calling out the organiser, Star Planet Malaysia, and accusing them of allowing foreign bots to mass-purchase the tickets. Other Malaysian fans echoed the claims, with many coming forward to criticise the organiser and the ticketing website, with some suspecting that the tickets had been sold to insiders. Fans also compared the situation to Taeyang's concert, noting that the ticketing process for his show was not as frustrating as for his fellow BIGBANG member's. To add insult to injury, Malaysian fans not only had to deal with overseas buyers but also had to report local and foreign scalpers for mass-buying tickets and reselling them online. As seen in the screenshots above, many have claimed to have secured seats for the 'Power' artist's two-day concert and are now offering to sell them, supposedly at original prices. Some have also started reselling them on Viagogo at supposedly discounted prices. Of course, as much as they would love to see their idol live, fans are not so easily fooled by these unauthorised ticketing services, as there have been multiple reports of them turning out to be scammers. At the time of writing, Star Planet Malaysia has yet to address the ticketing issues, but we do hope that true Malaysian G-Dragon fans will get the chance to see the rapper live on stage this July.
