QC postpones GAM to June 30 due to lack of quorum

The Qatar Chamber's (QC) General Assembly Meeting (GAM), which was scheduled to be held on Thursday June 12, has been postponed due to lack of quorum of members who were eligible to attend, Qatar Chamber's Chairman HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani has announced.
The second GAM will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, June 30 at the chamber's headquarters regardless of the number of attendees, Sheikh Khalifa added.
The meeting's agenda includes reviewing the report of the board of director on the activities of the Chamber for the year ended 31, December 2024.
It also includes discussing the QC's fiscal report for the year ending December 31, 2024 through the auditor's report on the final accounts and the statement of income and expenses for the year.
It also will see approving the estimated budget for the fiscal year 2025 and appointing a new auditor for the 2025 financial year.

The camp, organised by the Young Entrepreneurs Club under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, in collaboration with Qatar Chamber, was supported by Qatar Development Bank (QDB), hosted by Qatar University, and featured Snoonu as the Innovation Partner. The event offered a wide range of workshops and activities focused on startups, in addition to career exploration sessions designed for high school and university students. The camp's activities were hosted across several venues, including the Qatar Business Incubation Center (QBIC) and Qatar University, and also featured a site visit to a factory supported by QDB. The program aimed to foster entrepreneurial and innovative thinking among youth by providing an interactive educational environment for shaping ideas and developing entrepreneurial projects. It further sought to enhance leadership and teamwork skills, promote effective communication and critical thinking, and offer valuable networking opportunities with entrepreneurs and industry professionals. The camp is a comprehensive educational and training program that blends applied learning with practical engagement in an integrated entrepreneurial environment. It aimed to empower youth, refine their skills, foster creativity, and build an entrepreneurial generation capable of driving innovation. Serving as a national platform, it combines practical knowledge with real-world experience, helping school and university students in Qatar develop an entrepreneurial the closing ceremony, participants received certificates of attendance. The final day also featured a career and employment fair, offering participants valuable opportunities to engage directly with startups, entrepreneurs, and industry experts from various sectors. For her part, Fatima Issa Al Kuwari, Head of Training and Development at Qatar Chamber, affirmed that organising the event reflects the Chamber's commitment to supporting and empowering youth. She noted that the camp provided participants with a practical opportunity to engage with the business environment and gain insights that would inspire them in developing their future projects. Abdulrahman Al-Emadi, Director of Administrative Affairs at the Young Entrepreneurs Club, said that the camp's scientific and practical activities, held over the course of a full month, succeeded in providing an integrated educational environment that enabled participants to develop their entrepreneurial skills while enhancing their capacity for innovation and teamwork.

Tribune News Network Doha The Qatar Press Center has begun issuing and distributing membership cards to journalists and media professionals working in various media institutions. Qatar Press Center Director General Sadiq Mohammed Al Amari has confirmed that the membership is divided into two categories. The first is for prominent figures, pioneers, and senior media professionals, including Professor Nasser Mohammed Al-Othman, the dean of Qatari journalism, and others who have made significant contributions to the journey of journalism and media in Qatar. The second is the general membership for journalists and media professionals. Al Amari explained that the center's membership includes all journalists and media professionals working in Qatar's written, audio, and visual media, including, but not limited to local newspapers, Qatar Television, Qatar Radio, Al Rayyan Channel, beIN channels, Al Kass, Voice of the Gulf, and news platforms such as Misharib, Al Jazeera, Qatar Ndeb, Marsal Qatar, as well as several specialized radio stations, among others. He noted that the first phase of membership at the center includes journalists, media professionals, producers, and broadcasters, and all those directly involved in journalistic work, pointing out that the second phase of membership registration will include supporting roles, such as photographers, proofreaders, graphic designers, and directors, making the Center's membership a comprehensive umbrella for all those involved in media work in the State of Qatar. He clarified that the center's membership cards serve as an identification tool and an accredited identity with reliable information to facilitate journalistic and media work, noting that the membership provides its holders with certain benefits, discounts, and special prices for cardholders and their families in medical services at hospitals and private centres, among others. Agreements have also been made with several distinguished hotels to offer special rates for accommodation, restaurants, and fitness centres. He added that many more stores and companies will join the discount program in the coming period. He emphasized that the Qatar Press Center represents an umbrella for elevating journalistic and media work and serves as a hub for all those working in the journalistic and media field in the State of Qatar, through intensive activities and growing local, Gulf, Arab, and international media partnerships.
