UTT Season 6: Dabang Delhi eye revenge against Dempo Goa in 2024 final rematch
Dabang Delhi head into their blockbuster rematch against Dempo Goa Challengers with momentum on their side. After a dominant opening against Jaipur Patriots, Delhi's key players look dialled in: Sathiyan Gnanasekaran swept Jeet Chandra and partnered seamlessly with Maria Xiao in mixed doubles while Diya Chitale justified her top billing as the highest-valued Indian player in the auction with an upset win over World No. 42 Britt Eerland. With Izaac Quek, 19, also stunning three-time Olympian Kanak Jha in his debut, Delhi's top order is firing early.
Their challenge for Delhi now is a Goa squad that opened with authority. Led by Harmeet Desai, who showed composure in his win over Ricardo Walther, the defending champs bring form and depth. Tiago Apolonia and Zeng Jian hit the ground running, and Krittwika Sinha Roy added to their firepower with a strong win over Ayhika. It's a clash of two balanced line-ups, with early-season supremacy on the line.
In the evening tie, Kolkata ThunderBlades will look to build on a powerful debut led by their star trio - Aruna Quadri, Adriana Diaz, and breakout teen Ankur Bhattacharjee. Ankur's clinical takedown of Olympian Kirill Gerassimenko reaffirmed his status as one of the sport's most exciting young talents. Aruna and Diaz, ranked 27 and 17 respectively, played with calm authority, while Selena Selvakumar showed promise despite a tough draw.
PBG Pune Jaguars stand in their way—dangerous and primed to back up the comeback win in their opening match. Olympian Alvaro Robles and debutant Dina Meshref will be keen to bounce back, but the real spark came from Anirban Ghosh and Reeth Rishya, who carried the side in the opener, highlighting the depth of Indian talent on display in the league. Expect both Pune and Kolkata to go all-in for back-to-back wins in this early-season tone-setter.

Ramayana: Amitabh Bachchan to be part of Ranbir Kapoor, Nitesh Tiwari's epic saga? Likely to play the role of... Nitesh Tiwari is grabbing headlines with his much-awaited upcoming film Ramayana, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash in the lead roles. According to recent reports, Amitabh Bachchan will play an integral role in the magnum opus- not just as a character but as a narrator. An insider told Midday, 'We're exploring the idea of having Bachchan as the sutradhar. His voice adds gravitas that no one else can match. The makers are keen that the film opens with his voice. It's still at the discussion stage. While the clash is a concern, there will be ways to work it out on a creative level. Having him open the film and be the spiritual narrator will have a strong impact.' The actor will be doing the voiceover for the character of Jatayu. Helmed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana boasts a stellar cast with Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. Bankrolled by Madhu Mantena and Allu Aravind, Ramayana is expected to be one of the most magnificent projects ever made in Indian cinema. On July 3rd, 2025, the makers unveiled the first looks of Ranbir, Sai Pallavi and Yash from the highly-anticipated project. 'Ten years of Aspiration. Talking about Ramayana, Nitesh Tiwari, director of the film said, 'Ramayana is a story we've all grown up with. It carries the soul of our culture. Our aim was to honour that soul — and present it with the cinematic scale it truly deserves. As a filmmaker, it's both a huge responsibility and a heartfelt honour to bring it to life. . It's a tale that has endured across millennia because it speaks to something deep and eternal within us. We are not simply making a film. We are offering a vision — one rooted in reverence, shaped by excellence, and made to transcend borders.' Ramayana will be released worldwide: Part 1 in Diwali 2026 and Part 2 in Diwali 2027.

'They have complained about three people. One is Gautam Gambhir…': Dinesh Karthik lifts lid on India vs England letters
In a light-hearted exchange during the broadcast of The Hundred, former India wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik revealed that UK fans had written complaints to broadcasters about India head coach Gautam Gambhir not smiling throughout the recently concluded Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy between India and England. India head coach Gautam Gambhir(AP) Speaking to Trent Rockets coach Andy Flower after their seven-wicket win over Manchester Originals at Trent Bridge, Karthik jokingly said, 'All of the UK has complained and tweeted about it, written to SKY Sports... Three people over the summer, they haven't found a way to get them to smile... One is Gautam Gambhir, two is Nasser Hussain in the commentary box and the third person is you. Why aren't people able to see you smiling when you wear the coach's hat in that dugout?" Flower, who was previously England's head coach and is currently leading the Rockets in The Hundred, responded with a chuckle: 'DK, people misunderstand me completely, you know that for sure.' 'I surely do,' replied Karthik even as former England pacer Dominic Cork could not control his laughter. Gambhir, known for his intensity on the field, maintained a stern expression through the high-stakes Test series, prompting fans in the UK to take notice. While his serious demeanour is typical during matches, those familiar with the Indian dressing room know that the former opener does have a lighter side that often surfaces behind closed doors. Gambhir was under a lot of presure after India lost back-to-back Test series against New Zealand (at home) and Australia (away) but under new captain Shubman Gill, a relatively inexperienced Indian side put up a stellar show against England to draw the five-match series 2-2. Karthik and Flower, who were part of Royal Challengers Bengaluru's support staff during their triumphant IPL 2025 campaign, share a strong rapport. The exchange was a continuation of that camaraderie, giving fans a rare glimpse into the personalities behind the coaching roles. Despite the public perception of being stoic, Gambhir has often engaged in playful banter with players and support staff. However, during the intense India-England series, the high-pressure environment left little room for light moments on camera. Former England captain Nasser Hussain, the third name on Karthik's list added to the trio of 'serious faces' that caught fans' attention during the English summer.
