The Cast of MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - THE FINAL RECKONING Talk Bruises, Blizzards, and That Helicopter Commute — GeekTyrant
Tom Cruise is, of course, the high priest of practical stunts. At this point, he's made a career out of cheating death on screen. But it wasn't just Cruise dangling off helicopters this time. Every member of the IMF team got a taste of chaos, fire, and freezing cold.
Pom Klementieff, who returns as a fierce assassin-turned-IMF recruit, tackled two particularly punishing sequences, one of which involves a gritty prison brawl, the other inside a building literally on fire.
'They were both very challenging in different ways,' Klementieff told GamesRadar+. 'The first one was the restriction with handcuffs. I had to do high kicks and also, I was wearing less clothing, so when you fall hard on the ground, it hurts more. I did all the fight for that, too.'
Then came the heat. 'The one with the fire, with the real flames, where we had to be in sync with the other characters, with Tarzan and with Simon... I was wearing winter clothing, but it was hot inside and there was a real fire,' she said. 'Fighting all day long like that, it was exhausting and very hot, but I think it also shows on our face, the struggle, and it seems real. That was amazing to shoot too.'
Greg Tarzan Davis, who plays Degas, had the bruises to prove just how real those fights were. 'I was getting kicked by Pom, repeatedly,' he said. 'I had bruises on my side. Granted, I did ask her to do it to make it look realistic. I just forgot how strong a Pom kick can be. She was like, 'Oh my gosh, are you okay?' I'm like, 'I'm good. Just keep kicking.''
But it wasn't all flame and fury. Sometimes, the challenge came in the form of frozen breath and polar bears. Hayley Atwell found herself in the unforgiving Arctic, filming in negative 40-degree weather—and loved every second of it.
'I loved it,' she said. 'I didn't find it difficult as such because I found it really fulfilling and satisfying every day to be there... I never thought in my life that I would be in such a remote landscape, let alone working with Sled Dogs and filming a huge franchise movie. I think it will always stay with me. A set being interrupted by the presence of a polar bear walking past is not something that you see every day.'
Even amid the exhaustion, danger, and crazy temperatures, the team still found time to enjoy the perks of flying with Cruise. Simon Pegg recalled wanting to ride in helicopters during Fallout , only to realize he got his wish this time, just not in the way he expected.
'Tom used to fly us back to number ones when we were doing the scene, when we drove up the mountain,' Pegg said. 'We got to the top of the mountain, and then we'd all bundle into this helicopter, me, Hayley, Tarzan, and Pom and then we'd fly through this canyon back to number ones... I guess I did that already!'
Klementieff chimed in saying: 'Yeah, it was amazing. Or [Tom] would fly us from the studio back to central London with the sunset. It was beautiful.'
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning hits theaters on May 23rd.

Fox News' Dana Perino Insists Newsom's Trump Trolling Is ‘Cringe' and ‘Just Not Funny'
The California Governor claps back against "DING DONG DANE" with another all caps Trump parody Fox News personality Dana Perino was adamant on Tuesday's episode of 'The Five' that she gets what the joke is with Gavin Newsom's parodies of Donald Trump social media posts. She thinks 'it's just not funny.' Newsom has recently started doing ALL CAPS parodies of Donald Trump's social media posts, only from his own POV, which has drawn a lot of attention to the California governor. On Monday, Perino dismissed Newsom's efforts to mock the president and promote his own agenda in this way, saying in part that he is 'making a fool of yourself, stop it,' and that 'he has to be a little bit more serious' if he wants to be President of the United States. 'South Park': Towelie Returns to Visit Trump's White House, Militarized DC in Episode 3 Trailer Watch: 'Severance' Director Ben Stiller Shares Britt Lower's Audition Tape, Praises It as 'The Best I've Seen' Setting aside the fact that the current president didn't have to 'be a little bit more serious' to get his job, people mocked Perino for those comments, accusing her among other things of not getting the joke. And so it is on Tuesday's 'The Five' she waded into it again. 'California's got a huge amount of problems. And if you think about Mamdani, his authenticity is what rocketed him to the top. And now you have Cuomo trying to copy him, and it's just cringe. And that was my point. Is that if you're doing this and it's not authentic and you're trying to do somebody else who you say is Hitler and you think that we don't get the joke, oh no, we get the joke, it's just not funny,' Perino said in part. Watch part of that below: Shortly after the episode aired, Newsom clapped back with another Trump parody. 'DANA 'DING DONG' PERINO (NEVER HEARD OF HER UNTIL TODAY!) IS MELTING DOWN BECAUSE OF ME, GAVIN C. NEWSOM! FOX HATES THAT I AM AMERICA'S MOST FAVORITE GOVERNOR ('RATINGS KING') SAVING AMERICA — WHILE TRUMP CAN'T EVEN CONQUER THE 'BIG' STAIRS ON AIR FORCE ONE ANYMORE!!! TRUMP HAS 'LOST HIS STEP' AND FOX IS LOSING IT BECAUSE WHEN I TYPE, AMERICA NOW WINS!!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER. — GCN,' Newsom said. We'll keep you updated if this disagreement goes into day three. Meanwhile, Newsom explained last week in a press conference what his strategy is. 'I hope it's a wakeup call. The President of the United States — I'm sort of following his example. And if you've got issues with what I'm putting out, you sure as hell should have concerns about what he's putting out as president,' he said in part. He continued: 'So to the extent it's gotten some attention, I'm pleased. But I think the deeper question is: How have we allowed the normalization of his tweets, Truth Social posts over the course of the last many years to go without similar scrutiny and notice?' Hotter Summers and Overcrowding Threaten Europe's Tourist Economies
The Montesol is Ibiza's oldest hotel. Built in 1933, it's a neoclassical monolith on a leafy boulevard between the port and the old town of the Spanish island's capital city. For the last three-quarters of a century, the hotel has hosted generations of Hollywood elite and giants of the music business, while outside Ibiza was transformed from a laid-back haven for 1950s beatniks and bohemians into a Fantasia of mega-clubs, neon lights, giant LED screens and thumping electronic music. When the French luxury hoteliers Experimental Group took over the property in 2021, they undertook a refurbishment that reflects a new and challenging reality for Ibiza's tourist industry.
