If you sign onto a Mission: Impossible film, you're not just joining a franchise, you're strapping in for a ride that might literally throw you off a cliff. The Final Reckoning , which brings Ethan Hunt's saga to its adrenaline-fueled climax, pushed its cast to the limit in the best and most brutal ways possible.
Tom Cruise is, of course, the high priest of practical stunts. At this point, he's made a career out of cheating death on screen. But it wasn't just Cruise dangling off helicopters this time. Every member of the IMF team got a taste of chaos, fire, and freezing cold.
Pom Klementieff, who returns as a fierce assassin-turned-IMF recruit, tackled two particularly punishing sequences, one of which involves a gritty prison brawl, the other inside a building literally on fire.
'They were both very challenging in different ways,' Klementieff told GamesRadar+. 'The first one was the restriction with handcuffs. I had to do high kicks and also, I was wearing less clothing, so when you fall hard on the ground, it hurts more. I did all the fight for that, too.'
Then came the heat. 'The one with the fire, with the real flames, where we had to be in sync with the other characters, with Tarzan and with Simon... I was wearing winter clothing, but it was hot inside and there was a real fire,' she said. 'Fighting all day long like that, it was exhausting and very hot, but I think it also shows on our face, the struggle, and it seems real. That was amazing to shoot too.'
Greg Tarzan Davis, who plays Degas, had the bruises to prove just how real those fights were. 'I was getting kicked by Pom, repeatedly,' he said. 'I had bruises on my side. Granted, I did ask her to do it to make it look realistic. I just forgot how strong a Pom kick can be. She was like, 'Oh my gosh, are you okay?' I'm like, 'I'm good. Just keep kicking.''
But it wasn't all flame and fury. Sometimes, the challenge came in the form of frozen breath and polar bears. Hayley Atwell found herself in the unforgiving Arctic, filming in negative 40-degree weather—and loved every second of it.
'I loved it,' she said. 'I didn't find it difficult as such because I found it really fulfilling and satisfying every day to be there... I never thought in my life that I would be in such a remote landscape, let alone working with Sled Dogs and filming a huge franchise movie. I think it will always stay with me. A set being interrupted by the presence of a polar bear walking past is not something that you see every day.'
Even amid the exhaustion, danger, and crazy temperatures, the team still found time to enjoy the perks of flying with Cruise. Simon Pegg recalled wanting to ride in helicopters during Fallout , only to realize he got his wish this time, just not in the way he expected.
'Tom used to fly us back to number ones when we were doing the scene, when we drove up the mountain,' Pegg said. 'We got to the top of the mountain, and then we'd all bundle into this helicopter, me, Hayley, Tarzan, and Pom and then we'd fly through this canyon back to number ones... I guess I did that already!'
Klementieff chimed in saying: 'Yeah, it was amazing. Or [Tom] would fly us from the studio back to central London with the sunset. It was beautiful.'
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning hits theaters on May 23rd.

Snow White Maine Coon's ‘Funky Feet' Are Just Incredible

Snow White Maine Coon's 'Funky Feet' Are Just Incredible originally appeared on Parade Pets. Weird feet are a very real thing. Some people have them, some animals have them. Luckily for humans, we can typically hide our weird feet with shoes and socks, but animals aren't quite so lucky. Their feet are out in the open for all to see! On June 4th, one crisp, snow-white Maine Coon's "funky" feet were capturing people's hearts. It looks like his feet are wearing oven mitts! Name something cuter than that (spoiler alert, you can't): The Maine Coonies don't all have funky feet, but this boy does, and I love him for it. They're gorgeous! I'd kiss them if I could. I bet he makes excellent biscuits! This Maine Coon cat's name is Casper (because he looks like a ghost). He's one of three Maine Coons in his house, but if you ask me, he might just be the best one. I mean, so you see those absolute flippers? Casper doesn't even have extra toes or anything, his feet are just Like That! When he's not busy showing off his foot-thumbs, he's typically lounging around with his bestie, Dexter. They also have a sister, but she must think she's too good for them or something! Girls rule! Maine Coons grow to have absolutely massive paws, mostly because they end up being pretty massive cats. Their paws are not only huge and often equipped with cute little thumbs: they're usually very fluffy. So fluffy, in some cases, that their parents opt to shave around their digital pads (which is the government name for "toe beans"). You don't have to shave your Maine Coon cat anywhere if you don't want to, but it can have its advantages: Sanitary shaves around their backside reduce the probability of something getting caught in their fur. Shaving/clipping down the fur around their digital pads can help with maintaining a good grip on the floor. If they get to go outside, it reduces the possibility of dirt getting caught in their fur. Casper doesn't get shaved at all: he's perfect as he is, funky feet and everything included! 🐶🐾🐾 Snow White Maine Coon's 'Funky Feet' Are Just Incredible first appeared on Parade Pets on Jun 10, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade Pets on Jun 10, 2025, where it first appeared.

Tom Cruise So Tired By One ‘Mission: Impossible' Stunt 'He Had To Be Carried Off The Plane'

Tom Cruise was so physically exhausted after a day of stunt work on his latest Mission: Impossible film he had to be carried by his crew. His longtime stunt coordinator and second unit director Wade Eastwood told The Times of London newspaper how drained the actor was by one particular stunt in the eighth (and apparently final) instalment of his hit franchise Mission: Impossible – Final Reckoning – one which involved him walking on the wing of a small biplane mid-air. The wind hitting him, and the blast of the propeller, particles hitting him. It was the hardest workout you could ever do, it was very dangerous and very exhausting for him. Many times we were carrying him off the wing because he was so tired. And he was flying all day.' Eastwood has worked alongside Cruise since 2013 when they met on the set of Edge of Tomorrow. Eastwood said of Cruise's appetite for risk and doing his own stunts: 'Tom doesn't show fear, Tom shows competence. He had fun during all his stunts, even when it was exhausting. He's always positive, he'll always put on a smile, and he genuinely enjoys it.' Eastwood has served as stunt coordinator on the last four Mission:Impossible films and recalls his favourite moment of all, which came in the seventh film Dead Reckoning Part One – Cruise rode off a cliff-edge on a motorbike. Eastwood revealed that the actor had trained for over a year in motocross and skydiving to perform the stunt, which involved more than 500 skydives and 13,000 motocross jumps. Asked if Cruise would soon retire from such physical demands, Eastwood demurred: 'No, no chance. He's a machine. He acts like a 20-year-old. And there's no magic there, it's just hard work and discipline with his food, nutrition and training.'
