Artificial rain may fill Jaipur's Ramgarh dam after two decades, American firm to use drones and AI
The experiment is expected to take place in August, with preparations already underway. The Agriculture Department has partnered with an American company to carry out this ambitious plan.
Senior scientists from the U.S.-based firm have arrived in Jaipur and are finalising the groundwork. Notably, this may be the first time in India that artificial rain will be created using drones and AI technology.
According to sources, specially designed drones -- ordered from Taiwan -- will fly thousands of feet above the ground and release sodium chloride into moisture-laden clouds, triggering rainfall.
Previously, cloud seeding in India has been carried out using aircraft. A high-level meeting was recently held under the Jaipur District Administration, where officials from the Water Resources Department, Meteorological Department, and Pollution Control Board met with representatives of the American firm.
However, the project is still awaiting approval from the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in New Delhi. Once clearance is granted, final preparations will be taken up in full swing.
Agriculture Minister Kirori Lal Meena held discussions with the American company in June to push forward this experimental initiative.

India may stun everyone by rejecting Su-57 fighter jet to buy F-35 from US due to..., move may prove game changer for IAF because...
The F-35 Fighter jet-Image for representational purpose American F‑35 fighter aircraft news: As India phases out its old MiG‑21 fighter jet fleet amid growing threats from China and Pakistan, the Indian Air Force is exploring options to quickly acquire fifth-generation fighter jets. Among the top options that India has been offered are the American F‑35 and the Russian Su‑57, both seen as game-changers. It was earlier reported that India may go for the purchase of Russian Su‑57 fighter jets but as of the recent update, reports suggest that India may purchase the American F‑35 fighter aircraft. Why India may choose American F‑35 fighter aircraft? Taking about the while the F‑35 offers cutting-edge stealth and combat technology, it comes with limitations such as lack of weapons integration flexibility and possible restrictions on technology sharing. On the other hand, the Su‑57 is more compatible with India's existing defence systems and may offer opportunities for co-production under the 'Make in India' initiative. Choosing between the two could significantly influence India's defence posture and global alignments. However, reports now say that India may surprise everyone and buy US's F-35 fighter aircraft because it uses world's most advanced stealth technology, has world class network-centric warfare capabilities and this aircraft has proven itself in war. Another advantage of the F-35 aircraft is that it is extremely effective in carrying out surgical strikes against Pakistan on terrorist hideout. India's 5th-generation stealth fighter jet gets key clearance Meanwhile, the government of India, in a major push towards Atmanirbharta (self-reliance), approved the Execution Model for the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) programme recently. As per a report by IANS news agency, the AMCA project clearance marks a critical step towards realising India's goal of joining an elite club of nations in designing and producing its own fleet of next-generation combat aircraft. The project will be helmed by the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), said the Defence Ministry in a press release. Designed with low radar cross-section and supercruise capability, the AMCA is seen as the successor to the frontline Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter jets. Some reports suggest that its mass production is likely to commence by 2035. (With inputs from agencies)

She accused them of living in worse conditions than the country's poor, just to go back and call India 'pathetic.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Sleep Apnea Ruined My Life – Then I Found This Simple Trick Health Insight Undo The YouTuber fired back with a post on X (formerly Twitter), saying he wasn't 'slumming it.' He was staying in 5-star hotels and still ended up catching four strains of Salmonella. 'Only ate in 5-star hotels and still contracted 4 types of Salmonella,' he wrote. The reason? According to him, the hotel likely sourced eggs from a chicken farm next to a literal mountain of trash. 'Not Racist to Talk About Hygiene' Tyler insisted that criticising India's sanitation issues isn't racism, it's reality. 'There are serious hygiene issues that must be addressed in India. It is NOT racist to address the poor quality of life most Indians are subjected to while the upper caste insulates themselves from reality,' he posted. Live Events To back up his claims, he even attached medical reports proving his illness. But that didn't stop the flood of angry comments calling him out for 'defaming India.' The $100-a-Night Argument When people accused him of travelling on a budget, Tyler clarified: 'The 5-star hotels were about $100 a night. It was budget travel relative to American standards.' He even took a dig at India's wealth gap: 'Ambani has a billion-dollar tower overlooking the slums. Your anger is misplaced,' he said. The internet remains divided. Some Indians echoed his concerns, saying it's time India stops being defensive and starts fixing real problems. Others slammed him for reducing an entire country to a bad stomach bug.
