Chicago Sky star Angel Reese may be nearing a return to the court after missing most of the second half of the season with a back injury. The second-year forward has been upgraded to questionable and is considered a game-time decision for Tuesday night's matchup against the Seattle Storm.
Head coach Tyler Marsh said Reese looked strong in practice and continued to show progress during shootaround.
"She looked good in practice yesterday, and she came in today feeling pretty good at shootaround," Marsh said Tuesday morning. "Spirits are high, and they're hopeful. It is a game-time decision for her to play tonight, but it's looking pretty good right now."

Photo byReese has appeared in just two games since the All-Star break as the Sky managed her recovery from back tightness. She last played on July 29 in a 103-86 loss to the Washington Mystics, where she posted 22 points and 13 rebounds but was visibly hampered by both foul trouble and discomfort.
"It was ugly, ugly for me, but I tried to push through as much as I could for my teammates because I know they need me out there," Reese said after the game. "When I am out there, I don't think about an injury. It can happen anyway, anytime. If I'm thinking about it too much, it's gonna happen again."

The Sky, who enter Tuesday at 8-25 and eight games back of the final playoff spot with 11 games remaining, have been cautious in handling Reese's injury. Marsh noted previously that the team saw little reason to rush her return given the long-term risks associated with back issues.
Despite her recent setback, Reese's sophomore campaign has been defined by historic production. She became the first player in WNBA history to record multiple double-double streaks of at least 10 games, and her current run of 11 straight is still active. Over that stretch, she has averaged 16.9 points and 13.1 rebounds while shooting 50.9% from the field.
Reese also earned her second All-Star selection in July and recorded her first career triple-double in a win over the Connecticut Sun earlier this season.

Whether she takes the floor against Seattle will ultimately depend on how she responds after going through a pre-game workout, but Marsh's optimism suggests the Sky could have their star back in the lineup as they continue their late-season push.

WNBA breaks single-season attendance record that had stood since 2002
NEW YORK (AP) — With 2 1/2 weeks left in the WNBA's regular season, the league has already broken its single-season attendance record. League officials announced Thursday that the league's 13 teams have drawn a total of 2,501,609 fans over 226 games this season, surpassing the previous mark that was set in 2002 when the league had 16 teams. It also took the WNBA 256 games to reach the milestone in 2002. The popularity explosion in women's college basketball, spurred initially by the Caitlin Clark-Angel Reese rivalry, carried over to the WNBA last season when Clark and Reese were rookies. Sold out arenas became the norm for Clark and the Indiana Fever. While Clark and Reese have both been hurt this season, ticket sales haven't slowed thanks to the arrival of rookie guard Paige Bueckers in Dallas, the curiosity over the expansion Golden State Valkyries and expanded television coverage. And after expanding last year's 40-game schedule to 44 games this season, the WNBA is on pace to shatter the previous attendance record. ___ AP WNBA: The Associated Press

Chicago Cubs increasing season ticket prices for 2026 by an average of 6%
The Chicago Cubs' return to contention in 2025 has made home games a hot ticket at Wrigley Field, and to no one's surprise, the team's success on the field means another sizable ticket price increase in 2026. Season tickets for Cubs games will go up from 5-8%, the team announced Thursday in its renewal letter to season ticket holders, with an average increase of 6%. Meanwhile, season ticket holders who renew through 2028 will be guaranteed tickets to the 2027 All-Star Game, Home Run Derby and all other All-Star events at Wrigley, with a maximum ticket increase of 3% in 2027 and 2028. Cale Vennum, senior vice president of Marquee Sports & Entertainment, said the All-Star Game is a 'once in a lifetime event' where demand will likely make it difficult to get in without the guarantee of a season ticket package. 'I would imagine there would be very, very limited tickets available on a single game basis,' he said. 'The demand for this game, we expect it to be through the roof.' Those who don't renew for the entire three years and prefer to go year-to-year might have access to the All-Star Game and events, Vennum said, but there aren't any guarantees. MLB controls most of the tickets for big events and Wrigley is one of the smaller venues. If the 2027 All-Star Game is postponed due to a labor stoppage, the game played on the North Side would likely be delayed until 2029, sources said. 'If for any reason the games need to be rescheduled for a later year, we would honor our commitment to the season ticket holders,' Vennum added. The Cubs already have among the priciest tickets in baseball and demand has surged this season with a team that spent nearly four months in first place until being passed by the Milwaukee Brewers. They began Thursday ranked sixth in average attendance at 37,479 per game. Bleacher tickets for 2026 will likely be around the highest range of the increase — about 8%. Chicago Cubs fans are 'really excited' for Wrigley Field's 2027 All-Star Game. But how much will tickets cost?'The bleachers have been sold out for almost every game this season,' Vennum said. 'It's certainly been the place to be.' A postseason ticket renewal means paying for tickets for all possible home games, with the option of refunds or a credit toward next year for any games not played. The deadline to place a deposit for postseason tickets is Sept. 17. The Cubs are still in good position for a wild-card spot with a 99% chance, according to If the Cubs finish as the top wild-card team, they would host all the first-round wild-card games in a best-of-three series. If they are the second or third wild-card team, they would play their first-round games on the road and have to hope to get to the best-of-five division series.
