According to the Daily Mail, Gruffudd and Evans ignored each other during the court meeting. Gruffudd reportedly sat on the opposite side of the room from his ex-wife, while his current wife sat three rows behind him.

Gruffudd and Evans were married from 2007 to 2021. Despite finalizing their divorce in July 2023, the exes have continued to battle over child and spousal support. Days before the court hearing, Gruffudd and Wallace attended the LA premiere of 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' on July 21. The actor played Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic in two of the franchise's films.
In recent court documents obtained by People, Evans asked the court to increase Gruffudd's child and spousal support payments from the $4,500 a month that he's currently paying.
The 'Lost' actress reportedly claimed that she and her daughters were evicted from their LA home because she couldn't afford the $6,500 monthly rent.

Evans, per People, also alleged that she 'burned through' her savings to pay for legal fees and living expenses. She claimed she had to borrow money from friends and set up a GoFundMe account to make ends meet.

In the court docs, Evans accused Gruffudd of being able to afford more in support.

In his legal response, the 'Titanic' actor claimed Evans 'purposely got herself evicted' and was 'intentionally ceasing paying rent and instead taking the children on a vacation trip to Europe,' according to People.
Gruffudd stated that Evans' motive was to 'support her false public narrative of financial destitution in an attempt to further harm my reputation… as a fraudulent way to strong-arm me into paying more support than I can afford.'

In addition, Gruffudd reportedly claimed he's received 'dozens of stressed messages' from his children about Evans' 'false and manufactured claims of becoming homeless in the immediate future' that have left him 'mortified.'
Gruffudd was ordered by a court in October to pay Evans $3,000 per month in child support and $1,500 per month in spousal support.
Evans currently has full custody of her daughters.

'Superman' Blows Past Zack Snyder's 'Man of Steel'

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors Is "Superman" the better movie, or is 2013's "Man of Steel" superior? You don't have to look far to find plenty of heated and often unfriendly debate on the subject online. But while the answer to which film is better is subjective, on Tuesday Forbes reported on a purely objective fact: the domestic box office earnings for "Superman" have just passed those for "Man of Steel," making the former movie the highest domestic grossing solo Superman film ever. Read More: 'Eyes of Wakanda' - Everything We Know So Far Of course, as Forbes notes, there are some caveats. On one hand there is the matter of inflation. "Man of Steel" made $291 million in 2013 and while "Superman" has passed that number, that $291 million in 2013 would be $407 million today. David Corenswet in "Superman". David Corenswet in "Superman". Warner Bros And on the other hand while "Superman" may be leaping tall buildings domestically, internationally its numbers remain soft. While "Man of Steel" ended its theatrical run earning $379 million overseas, "Superman" is only at $214 million internationally. So while "Superman" may have defeated "Man of Steel" domestically, Forbes argues that it's unlikely James Gunn's film is going overtake Zack Snyder's overall box office once the current theatrical run ends. As far as why "Superman" is having a much weaker time overseas than its 2013 counterpart, Gunn has offered a couple of possible reasons. He's argued that Superman isn't as much of a "known commodity" across the globe, though that begs the question of why "Man of Steel" did so well. "It also affects things that we have a certain amount of anti-American sentiment around the world right now," Gunn said. "It isn't really helping us." Regardless of how "Superman" plays out at the box office, critically it's been a hit with reviewers and fans. The film currently enjoys an 83% critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with a 91% audience score. "Superman" is currently playing in theaters. The film is written and directed by James Gunn. "Ex-Lover" of Jennifer Aniston's Hypnotist Boyfriend Tell-All Interview

You know how Jennifer Aniston is newly dating a man the internet has dubbed "Hypnotist Jim" (real name Jim Curtis)? The pair have been stealthily together since at least May, and now one of his ex-girlfriends—sorry, ex-lovers—is coming out of the woodwork to dish. Alyssa Pettinato, who dated Jim a "few years ago" and had him on her podcast, MissJudged, just gave a tell-all interview to the Daily Mail. "We went on a few dates. He's just a nice guy," she said, noting that she "ghosted" him. "We didn't work out. It's my fault. But he's a good guy. I think he's definitely a really great guy. I think he would be a fantastic partner to somebody... The type of person that can get along with most people." She also added that he's "easy to have a conversation with," "unproblematic," "mindful," and a "pragmatic and calm person." Apparently, Alyssa got in touch with Jim after they dated to ask him to come on her podcast, saying "We're just acquaintances. But I have nothing bad to say about him.' 'I think everything happens for a reason and I feel like we're both where we're supposed to be." She also joked, "I call him Uncle Jesse. He's got a nice face. He is a successful guy. He is really smart. I think that a lot of women are drawn to that."

Disney Stock Slides Despite Box Office Win

Disney (NYSE:DIS) shares slipped nearly 1% Friday despite The Fantastic Four: First Steps pulling in $118 million domestically and $220 million worldwide this opening weekend, on track to top its $300 million budget. The film matched analysts' estimates but missed a $130 million best?case projection, yet it remains the best?performing Marvel movie of 2025 and the highest?grossing non?sequel in six years. Warning! GuruFocus has detected 7 Warning Sign with DIS. Disney stock dipped 0.9% even as the company has seen box office boosts from Lilo & Stitch's $1 billion haul, Captain America's $415 million run and Thunderbolts' $382 million take, offsetting 2025 flops like Snow White and Elio. Year?to?date DIS is still up 8.4% and has climbed 31.8% over the past 12 months, showing investor faith in its content pipeline. Why it matters: When a clear hit fails to lift the stock, it underscores how much investors are balancing theatrical wins against streaming performance, park attendance and broader cost pressures. Investors will be watching Disney's upcoming quarterly update and next weekend's film releases for signs that hits can translate into sustainable share gains.
