Meng Ziyi addresses worries about weight loss

Yahoo5 days ago
11 Aug – Meng Ziyi recently assured that she will be fine, after netizens expressed concern with her unhealthy weight loss.
According to SETN, the actress, who has been busy filming her new drama, "Blossoms of Power", was revealed to have had her weight continuously dropping throughout filming due to its high-intensity nature.
In just three months, Meng lost nearly 5kg compared to when she was filming "Keep Running" earlier this year.
It was said that she is now 45kg, and with a height of 170cm, Meng's BMI is below the normal range at 15.4 (normal range is 18.5 to 23.9).
In response to public concern, the actress posted, "When autumn comes on 9 August, after my flowers bloom, I'll wait for all the others to wither," emphasising that her weight loss was not due to intentional dieting, but rather the result of intensive filming during the hot summer and the demands of her role.
Meanwhile, the drama's director also explained that Meng has maintained a high level of professionalism throughout the filming process in order to portray the character.

Feast Your Eyes on the Lavish Backdrops of ‘Ne Zha 2'

Ne Zha 2 has already carved out its place in animation history—this year alone, it shattered records to become the highest-grossing animated film as well as the eighth-highest-grossing film, full stop, of all time. Its reputation now precedes it as a global phenomenon, and with that momentum, A24 is set to debut the film's English-language release—featuring Academy Award winner Michelle Yeoh and anime favorite Aleks Le—in theaters and IMAX on August 22. But before the premiere, we're unveiling exclusive background art that offers a glimpse into the film's mythic, meticulously crafted world. The first Ne Zha film, released in 2020, is a story that blends elements of Chinese mythology with Buddhist, Confucian, and Daoist influences. It follows Ne Zha (voiced by Crystal Lee), who is the reincarnation of an evil demon orb born to two human parents, Lady Yin (played by Michelle Yeoh) and Li Jing (portrayed by Vincent Rodriguez III). In the first film, available to watch on Peacock, Ne Zha manages to overcome a prophecy that foretold his destruction of the world. His journey is aided by his nurturing parents, spiritual guidance from Master Taiyi (Rick Zieff), and his growing friendship with Ao Bing (voiced by Le), another child of prophecy tied to his own, who shares a dragon heritage that was once fated to be the cause of eternal enmity. Ne Zha 2 sees the boys contend with the wrath of Ao Bing's dragon father, Ao Guang (Christopher Swindle), his aunts and uncles, and his former teacher Shen Gongbao (Daniel Riordan). Meanwhile, Ne Zha is tasked with defending his hometown, Chentang Pass, while facing a series of heavenly trials full of mystical kung fu action and dazzling animation. Keep an eye out for io9's forthcoming review of the film. In the meantime, sit back, relax, and have a gander at some of the background art for Ne Zha 2. Who Is Joelle Gwynn? What to Know About ‘The Biggest Loser' Season 7 Contestant

Joelle Gwynn made her reality TV debut in Season 7 of The Biggest Loser in 2009. The show had a 'couples' theme, and Gwynn competed alongside her friend Carla Triplett. The ladies were eliminated during Week 5, but their story will be revisited in the upcoming Netflix docuseries Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser. Gywnn is one of the former contestants who was interviewed for the three-part show. Ahead of the release, scroll down to learn more about the Season 7 contestant. How much weight did Joelle Gwynn lose on The Biggest Loser? She started the show at 309 lbs. and ended at 229 lbs., for a total of 80 lbs. lost. She also began with a BMI of 47 and completed the show with a BMI of 34.8. Gwynn has not given an update on her current weight. Are Joelle and Carla still friends? No, the women did not maintain a close relationship after filming ended. They also famously bickered on the show after Gwynn lost zero pounds during a weigh-in before their elimination. 'I've known Joelle for two years. I still consider her a friend and have reached out to her many times but I don't know how she feels,' Triplett told People in 2009. As Gwynn explained, 'Carla and I were actually more of acquaintances. She did suggest for marketing purposes that we put 'best friends,' but we are still interacting in the same way that we did before and we are still working on achieving our goals; we are just doing it separately. I didn't want to come on the show and do drama. There were some things that were said publicly that were hurtful, but sometimes relationships are rocky like that.' Why was Joelle Gwynn sued by The Biggest Loser doctor? In 2016, Gwynn made bombshell claims about her time on the show. She alleged that she was given a pill that made her 'jittery and hyper' while competing to lose weight. 'I went and told the sports medicine guy,' she alleged to the New York Post in an article that has since been taken down, per The Hollywood Reporter. 'The next day, Dr. [Robert] Huizenga gave us some lame explanation of why they got added to our regimen and that it was up to us to take them.' Dr. Huizenga and Gwynn's trainer on the show, Bob Harper, vehemently denied her claims. 'Nothing could be father from the truth,' the doctor told the Post. 'Contestants are told at the start of the show that there is zero tolerance for any weight-loss drugs.' Dr. Huizenga sued The New York Post, Gwynn, and other defendants for defamation. In 2019, a judge ruled in Gwynn's favor in Dr. Huizenga's lawsuit against her. Judge Laura Taylor Swain said that the doctor couldn't prove actual malice in his case. '[He] has not averred any facts regarding his conversations or interactions with Gwynn, or even about the existence or nature of the allegedly illicit pills, that would permit the Court to draw a plausible inference that the Gwynn Statements were untrue, such that Gwynn acted with knowledge of their falsity when making them,' the judge's decision said, per THR. What is Joelle Gwynn doing now? Gwynn will appear in the Fit for TV docuseries and sometimes gives life updates on Facebook, but for the most part she is no longer a public figure. She briefly ran a YouTube channel and Instagram page called Menopause Hottie, a 'regular VLog and podcast on menopause,' in 2021. Alison Sweeney Recalls This ‘Horrible' Part of Hosting ‘The Biggest Loser'

The Biggest Loser is getting the documentary treatment with Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser. Over the course of three episodes, those closely involved with the NBC competition series reveal behind-the-scenes secrets and the show's most controversial aspects. Alison Sweeney began hosting The Biggest Loser in Season 4, taking over for Caroline Rhea. 'As host of the show, it was my job to be there for the contestants and encourage them to talk about some of the harder things that are embarrassing and hard to talk about,' Sweeney said in the documentary. The show chronicled the journey of overweight contestants as they competed to lose weight and win a cash prize. The Biggest Loser faced loads of criticism for its approach to weight loss. One of the most shocking components of the show was the temptation challenges, where contestants faced off to see who could eat the most calories in five minutes. Whichever participant won would receive a prize, which could include an extra training session before a weigh-in or an opportunity to see their family. 'The temptation challenges were the hardest part of the show for me,' the Days of Our Lives star admitted. 'It was horrible.' Trainer Bob Harper called the temptation challenges 'so dumb' and placed blame on cocreator Dave Broome and executive producer J.D. Roth for allowing those types of challenges to see the light of day. In Episode 3, the documentary touched on the Season 15 controversy where trainer Jillian Michaels gave her team caffeine pills in order to have an advantage at the weigh-in. Once the show discovered Michaels had violated the show's rules, Sweeney confronted the trainer in an episode. When Sweeney watched the moment back, she said it was 'terrifying' to revisit. The host was shocked that she had to be the one to address Michaels and give her team a four-pound disadvantage. (Michaels did not participate in the documentary.) , Streaming Now, Netflix Solve the daily Crossword
