Taste of Picklesburgh allows Downtown Pittsburgh restaurants and shops to get in on the pickle-themed fun a little early and also help highlight the business that Picklesburgh brings to the city.
23 different retailers and restaurants are participating in Taste of Picklesburgh this year, which begins today.
The Downtown Partnership says that places like Emerson's, the Space Bar, the Original Oyster House, and PAIR Charcuterie and offering pickle-themed specials and giving away free Heinz pickle pins with a purchase.
Picklesburgh will begin on Friday and this year, for the 10th anniversary, the festival is going to have an expanded layout on the Roberto Clemente and Andy Warhol bridges, in Allegheny Landing on the North Shore, along Fort Duquesne Boulevard and a stretch of 6th Street, in the Heinz Hall courtyard, in Market Square, and in PPG Plaza.
As Picklesburgh has grown in popularity, the event has evolved from a simple street festival to one that takes over Downtown.
Since starting a decade ago, the Downtown Pittsburgh Partnership said that there has been a nearly 1000% increase in attendance, a 114% increase in vendors, 95,000 pickle beers served, 14,000 pickle balloons sold, and 800 quarts of pickle juice consumed.
A new attraction is being introduced this year with "pickle riding" putting festivalgoers atop a mechanical bull-style gherkin stationed near PPG Plaza.

2025's edition of the Mid-Summer Classic turned out to be a first of its kind on Tuesday night. At the center of it was a player who is no stranger to the dramatic. The NL jumped out to a 6-0 lead heading into the seventh inning, but the AL came storming back. The game remained tied at the end of nine innings. The result turned out to be the first ever home run swing-off. Each team had three batters with three swings each. Whoever hit the most home runs was to be declared the winner. Netflix boss doesn't regret The Residence axing despite Emmy nominations
Netflix boss Bela Bajaria doesn't regret cancelling The Residence despite its Emmy nominations. The streaming giant's chief content officer has reflected on her decision to scrap the murder mystery comedy - which starred Uzo Abuda as police consultant Cordelia Cupp - after the show received a number of nominations for this year's Primetime Emmy Awards. Asked if she has second guessed the decision to pull the plug, Bela told The Hollywood Reporter: "No, because I always knew she'd be recognised." Uzo was shortlisted in the Best Actress in a Comedy Series category, while the show's first episode The Fall of the House of Usher has been nominated for Outstanding Special Visual Effects In A Single Episode. The episode is also in the running for Outstanding Production Design For A Narrative Contemporary Program (One Hour Or More). Bela insisted she "loves" the series, and has no regrets about the news of its cancellation dropping two weeks before the Emmy nominations. She said: "No, I don't really look at when the news or not the news… I think was is great is — we love The Residence. We championed it, we made it. "Uzo [Aduba] has been part of the Netflix family for a long time and has been recognized before for awards. So, she gave an incredible performance. "Not surprised at all by her nom. We thought that she would and should absolutely get it. So, to me, that's great, that work. That work was completed and people loved it, and she was amazing and then gets recognised for it." She claimed the focus is more on how "great" the programme and Uzo both were. Bela also claimed Netflix will back cancelled shows in award season just as much as those on air. She added: "We're gonna support— yeah! I mean for her and the show, like, we did — of course. "Here's the thing: I think what people forget is, like I said before, we developed it, we championed it, we really marketed — we did all of the things. "And they're all people involved who we work with and continue to work with and will continue to — so we're always going to support that, for sure."

Tish Cyrus got 'too high' at Miley's birthday party
Now sober, the podcaster admitted she made several errors of judgment in her hard-partying years. Appearing on the Boyfriend Material with Harry Jowsey podcast, Tish, 58, revealed she had accidentally consumed too much cannabis at one of Miley's birthday parties, held at Beachers Madhouse in Los Angeles. Tish explained, 'Miley would have parties there and it was a whole thing, but this was actually before I smoked, and I ate some brownies at the party.' After taking herself home, Tish woke up two hours later to realise, "everything was spinning and I was coming freaking unglued", she recalled.
