Why Katie Price owes Alex Reid money after court ordered her to pay £175,000
Alex Reid recently said he was 'spearheading the campaign to expose the truth' as he leaked video footage of Katie Price waving a wad of cash while bankrupt. The former Big Brother star, 50, reacted to the video and questioned whether his legal team had seen the footage.
In the clip, Katie was seen lounging on a sofa and saying she is 'enjoying counting' the pile of cash in front of her before adding "there's loads here … I'm just sorting it out". Asked by her daughter Princess if she would contribute towards her school fees and those of her second child with ex-husband Peter Andre, Price says 'Your dad can sit on that' and lifting a middle finger.
Wearing white jodhpurs and sitting next to a Christmas tree, she adds: 'Does he go on about it a lot? Well it's tough because I'm in bankruptcy to next May now.'
Katie, bankrupted twice over debts totalling more than £3m, also referred to a property - 'my London flat' - which she claimed to own but which does not appear to have been traced by her bankruptcy trustees.
The video was released by Alex, who claimed the "truth will now be heard". Alex and Katie have a difficult relationship, with the two going back on forth over the years.
A representative for the star said: "This is a video that was shared with Katie's Trustee in Bankruptcy several months ago and Katie has fully complied with the Trustee's investigations into the same.
"The cash featured did not belong to Katie and the property referred to was dealt with in the financial settlement proceedings arising out of Katie's divorce from Peter Andre. Katie's Trustee in Bankruptcy is aware of the property and has undoubtedly investigated whether the same ought to be comprised in the bankruptcy estate."
She was bankrupted twice - first in 2019 over debts totalling £3.5m, including £970,639 to HMRC and then again last March over a second £761,994 unpaid HMRC demand for money earned while she was already bankrupt.
Creditors include Alex Reid, who is owed £175,000 in High Court damages and costs he was awarded after Price revealed a sex tape he says was filmed without his consent.
In 2018, Alex revealed he would take legal action against her after it was alleged she showed a sex tape he allegedly appeared in to the Celebrity Big Brother's Bit On The Side audience.
Katie claimed she didn't have any 'videos or sexual images on her phone' of Alex in a lengthy statement shared online at the time.
In court, High Court judge Mr Justice Warby described Katie's behaviour as "persistent, flagrant, arrogant, high-handed and inexcusable", and ordered her to pay £25,000 in damages plus £150,000 in legal costs.
Alex claimed the incident damaged his professional reputation and explained: "She was saying the most disgusting things about me... It was affecting me working continually because people were laughing at me."

Katie Price brutally mocked by BGT's Francine Lewis as she reignites rivalry with cash counting video parody and plastic surgery jibe
Katie Price was brutally mocked by impressionist Francine Lewis on Wednesday when she reignited their rivalry on social media. The comedian, who rose to fame on Britain's Got Talent in 2013, parodied a cash-counting video which was released by the TV personality's ex Alex Reid this week, and ridiculed her plastic surgery. Former cage fighter Alex, 50, shared a clip on Instagram on Monday that showed Katie, 47, who at the time had been declared bankrupt, counting a wad of notes. In response to the clip, Francine tapped up her face and shielded her eyes with a pair of oversized sunglasses while counting money. Mocking Katie, said: 'So I've just got back from Turkey. Yes! I have had another facelift, oh God, I can't believed it!' Making reference to the model's boyfriend JJ Slater, she continued: 'JJ, I think my mum was right - I did go too tight this time. Oh well! What do you think? I love it!' Francine an Katie became friends in the 90s before their relationship became rocky when the impressionist began to mimic Katie on the stage. Daily Mail has contacted Katie's representative for comment. Earlier this week, Alex leaked a video showing Katie appearing to count wads of cash, and told his followers he's 'exposing the truth' about the model, whom he was married to between 2010 and 2012. A friend of Alex's told The Sun that he decided to post the video online after repeatedly seeing four seemingly innocent words in a series of statements shared by Katie's team last week. They went onto claim that Alex's work opportunities dried up in the wake of his split from Katie, and he's grown tired of seeing her flaunt a luxurious lifestyle while he lives 'month to month'. Last week, Katie hit back at her ex Peter Andre after he shared a statement accusing her of 'baseless lies' over the past 16 years. The statement in question said: 'Kate is in a much better and clear headspace and is at peace with the situation. 'This was in the past, and she doesn't feel the need to bring up tit for tat comments, but more importantly she's dealing with this the right way and it's now in her lawyers hands. Kate will no longer be gaslighted and bullied as she once was.' Alex's friend said he was 'crushed' when he read the repeated phrase that is ex 'Katie was at peace.' The source went onto claim that Alex has grown increasingly frustrated with Katie since their 2011 split, after she took a string of public swipes at him, and particularly his cross-dressing alter-ego Roxanne. Alex also reportedly grew irate at seeing Katie show off a £1700 YSL handbag after jetting back from Turkey following yet another facelift, as well as a Van Cleef and Arpels necklace, which retails for £14,000. It's also alleged that Katie has not paid a penny of £175,000 in damages and legal costs Alex was awarded after he sued her for showing a sex tape of him on Big Brother spin-off show Bit On The Side without his consent. Daily Mail contacted representatives for Alex Reid and Katie Price for comment. The video Alex shared, which is believed to have been filmed in 2020, shows Katie saying she is 'enjoying counting' the wads of money in front of her during a conversation with her daughter Princess Andre. There is no suggestion that Katie didn't declare the cash. In the video she brags: 'There's loads here… I'm just sorting it out.' A representative for Katie Price told Daily Mail: 'This is a video that was shared with Katie's Trustee in Bankruptcy several months ago and Katie has fully complied with the Trustee's investigations into the same. 'The cash featured did not belong to Katie and the property referred to was dealt with in the financial settlement proceedings arising out of Katie's divorce from Peter Andre. 'Katie's Trustee in Bankruptcy is aware of the property and has undoubtedly investigated whether the same ought to be comprised in the bankruptcy estate.' A source close to Peter also said: 'Peter has seen the video and is totally disgusted, even more so because his young daughter has been involved in it.' His representatives added: 'Peter will be dealing with this with his lawyers.' Alongside the video, Alex said: 'For years, I've watched as stories — many false, exaggerated, or deliberately twisted — have been pushed out into the public. Fake news isn't just a headline, it destroys lives, reputations, and families. 'This has been years in the making. Countless hours of collaboration, gathering evidence, and finding the strength to finally stand up and say: enough is enough. 'I have stayed quiet long enough. Now is the time to speak. This isn't about gossip, this isn't about drama - this is about the truth. 'The announcement I'm about to make will challenge the false narratives and shine a light where it has been needed for far too long. The time for speculation is over. The truth is about to come out.'

Katie Price 'won't remain silent' as she makes vow ahead of latest podcast episode
Former glamour model Katie Price has found herself embroiled in a controversy after her ex-husband Alex Reid leaked a video of her counting wads of cash amid her bankruptcy Katie Price 's close friends have reportedly said that the former glamour model is adamant about not 'remaining silent' after her ex-husband Alex Reid leaked a video of her counting wads of cash amid her bankruptcy. In the video which was leaked a number of days ago on social media, the mum-of-five, 47, is seen lounging on the couch as she was "enjoying counting" the pile of money in front of her, saying: "There's loads here.. I'm just sorting it out." The reality TV star, who was bankrupted twice over debts totalling more than £3m, was asked by daughter Princess if she would help pay her school fees and those of her second child with ex-husband Peter Andre. Price responded: "Your dad can sit on that' before lifting a middle finger. It comes after Peter Andre's wife Emily reacts to 'cruel' Katie Price swipe in the bombshell video. Wearing white jodhpurs and sat next to a Christmas tree, she continued: 'Does he go on about it a lot? Well it's tough because I'm in bankruptcy to next May now." Katie also refers to a property - 'my London flat' - which fans believe is the property allocated to Peter Andre as part of their divorce settlement. The footage was shared this week by Price's ex, former Big Brother star Reid, who said in a statement that 'the truth will now be heard'. The Mirror understands that the one minute and 38 second video, believed to have been filmed in late 2020, has been sent to Price's bankruptcy trustee who continues to 'seek realisations from various third parties'. Following the release of the video, Katie released a statement, explaining that the cash in the video didn't belong to the Mucky Mansion star. A representative for the star said: "This is a video that was shared with Katie's Trustee in Bankruptcy several months ago and Katie has fully complied with the Trustee's investigations into the same. The cash featured did not belong to Katie and the property referred to was dealt with in the financial settlement proceedings arising out of Katie's divorce from Peter Andre. "Katie's Trustee in Bankruptcy is aware of the property and has undoubtedly investigated whether the same ought to be comprised in the bankruptcy estate." Following the now viral leaked video, Katie's close friends have said that they are surprised at how calm she is taking the whole controversy, and she isn't letting it get her down as she continues to pour herself into her work. While many others may shy away from speaking out publicly, Katie is set to continue to voice her truth as her latest podcast episode is still going ahead on Thursday - as it does every week. The former glamour model, who hosts The Katie Price show with her sister Sophie, is going full steam ahead as usual - a move which her pals think will frustrate Reid even further. Insiders told The Sun: "We're all really surprised by how calm she has been, as Alex's latest stunt would send most people into a very dark place. This isn't the first time Kate's ex husbands and partners have ganged up on her, but the last time it happened, it drove her over the edge and we were all seriously worried about her. This time around though, she is in a completely different place." "Her feeling is, if Alex Reid wants to create a drama to get himself some attention, then good for him. She is refusing to stoop to his level by coming out all guns blazing as she has in the past. That's what the old Katie would have done, but this time around Katie is in no rush to publicly comment on this latest attempt to bring her down," the source added. The insiders went on to claim that Katie 'will have her say' at some point, adding that 'you can't silence or keep the Pricey down'. Katie's podcast drop will go ahead tomorrow, but she won't be mentioning the drama surrounding the leaked video because it was recorded before it surfaced on social media. However, her pals have said that even if it had been recorded afterwards, it would not have silenced her. "She recorded this week's upcoming episode on Monday, before Alex dropped the video, but even if she had known about the video then, she wouldn't give him the satisfaction of talking about him publicly at the moment," they added. The former glamour model was bankrupted twice, first in 2019 over debts totalling £3.5m, including £970,639 to HMRC and then again last March over a second £761,994 unpaid HMRC demand for money earned while she was already bankrupt. Creditors include Alex Reid who is owed £175,000 in High Court damages and costs he was awarded after she revealed a sex tape he says was filmed without his consent. Along with the leaked footage, Alex shared a statement saying he was "spearheading a campaign to expose the truth". He said: "Over the years you have seen countless stories by Katie Price directed at me, Peter, Keiran and others. Today I want to be clear. I am spearheading a campaign to expose the truth. "This isn't about gossip but about evidence. It's not about rumour, it's about reality. After years of silence, the time has finally come to reveal all."

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) THE mystery man who is now the proud owner of Katie Price's 'cursed' Mucky Mansion has finally been revealed. James Mercer, a leading furniture tycoon and divorced father-of-two, snapped up the run-down West Sussex home back in January after Katie was booted out as part of her bankruptcy. He admitted to the Daily Mail that the home's previous owner had left it "mucky" and in need of work. It is believed that James purchased the home as part of a fresh start with his partner, Leike Qu, who is a co-owner of the house. James has been with Leike since splitting from his wife and the mother of his kids who has remained in Northern Ireland following their break-up. Speaking for the first time about owning one of Britain's most famous houses, Leike told the Mail: "We are just very ordinary and quiet people who fell in love with this country house." The couple are believed to have set aside a substantial amount of money in order to renovate the property with work already underway on turning it into a dream residence once more. Construction work is ongoing with scaffolding surrounding the mansion. Katie made a loss on the home with James paying around £200,000 less than Katie originally paid for the home. This is due to the star failing to find a buyer at the advertised price due to its conditions. Katie Price's BGT star rival reignites bitter feud as she shares video mocking under-fire star's new surgeries The former glamour model had also previously bragged in interviews that the West Sussex mansion was worth a cool £2million. Katie will not see a penny of the proceeds if this sale if it does complete, as she no longer owns it. The mum-of-five was forced out of the dilapidated house in May after failing to meet payments on two mortgages. Katie was served an eviction notice following her second bankruptcy. As a result, any money made against the house will be swallowed up by the debts she ran up against it while living there. In 2022, the star's attempts to renovate the home featured in Channel 4's Katie Price: Mucky Mansion. The show was eventually axed after two series', shortly before Katie was ordered to move out of the house via an eviction order. After the bank took possession, the Mucky Mansion - which sits in 12 acres of land - was put up for sale with a price tag of £1.5million. However, the asking price was later slashed in a bid to get it sold. The price was cut for a second time in October. The swimming pool was left empty with many of the home's rooms in desperate need of renovation. Katie also faced personal tragedy at the house with a multitude of her animals dying whilst living there. Both her horse and her German Shepherd were killed at the home as well as a dog she bought for Princess. 5 The house we left to ruin under Katie's ownership Credit: Splash
