BBK awards over BD 1 million to 119 winners from Al Hayrat

Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK), the leading retail and commercial bank in Bahrain, hosted a handover ceremony to conclude the 2024 Al Hayrat campaign. The event celebrated the distribution of prizes exceeding one million Bahraini Dinars to 119 fortunate winners, marking the largest handover ceremony in the history of BBK. The draw took place on 30 January 2025.
The first grand prize of BD 500,000 was awarded to Mohamed Jawad Kadhem, who expressed immense joy and gratitude for this life-changing opportunity, and affirmed how this unexpected prize would serve as a significant milestone, bringing transformative changes to his life.
The second grand prize of BD 200,000 was awarded to Khawla Abdulaziz Alahmed, while the third grand prize of BD 100,000 went to Prisha Prakash Bhatia. The fourth grand prize, valued at BD 50,000, was presented to Nazha Abdulnabi Yusuf.
In addition to the grand prizes, five winners received special prizes of BD 10,000 each, namely Esraa Abdulnabi Sabah, Jaafar Mahdi Alshabbaq, Katarzyna Joanna Munfaradi, Lulwa Mohamed Alkhaja and Nancy Mohamed Althawadi. Furthermore, 10 winners were honored with loyalty prizes worth BD 1,000 each. An additional BD 100,000 was distributed among 100 winners, with each receiving BD 1,000, ensuring broader participation and recognition of the Bank's loyal customers.
"We are delighted to announce the successful conclusion of the 2024 Al Hayrat campaign, where 119 winners were celebrated with grand prizes totaling over one million Bahraini Dinars. These awards represent the largest prizes ever distributed in the history of the Bank," commented Mr. Yaser Alsharifi, Group Chief Executive of BBK.
'The 2024 Al Hayrat campaign has been a remarkable journey, filled with prizes that have brought joy and meaningful change to the lives of our valued customers. Over the course of the year, extending into January 2025, BBK awarded BD 2.5 million to more than 350 winners.
Mr. Alsharifi encouraged the Bank's customers to stay tuned to the upcoming 2025 Al Hayrat campaign, which will be revealed soon, and said that this year promises exciting surprises designed to reward their trust in BBK and strengthen its position as their preferred banking partner.

Largest prize pool With a total prize pool of USD 4 million in 2025, the Al Barakat scheme stands as the largest of its kind in Bahrain's Islamic banking sector. The bank said the programme is designed to strengthen customer trust by blending consistent saving habits with chances to win valuable rewards. The Al Barakat Investment Account is available via the Bank's mobile app with a minimum deposit of BD 50 or USD 135. Accounts can also be opened for minors through a legal guardian. All cash prizes are awarded under Shari'a guidelines, reinforcing Al Baraka's promise of ethical banking that uplifts its community.

The issue date of the bills is June 4, and the maturity date is September 3. The weighted average rate of interest is 5.20% compared to 5.23% of the previous issue on May 28. The approximate average price for the issue was 98.703% with the lowest accepted price being 98.701%. This is issue No.2072 (ISIN BH0005A32176) of Government Treasury Bills. With this, the total outstanding value of Government Treasury Bills is BD 2.110 billion.
