Haryana Board issues essential repeat and improvement guidelines for 2025 class 10, 12 students: Check details here
The Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH), Bhiwani, has released an official circular outlining fresh instructions for the classification and submission of 'Essential Repeat' (ER) and 'Eligible for Improvement of Performance' (EIOP) candidates in the 2025 academic cycle. This directive applies to secondary and senior secondary students seeking a second attempt or performance enhancement in their examinations. The circular, issued under No. BSEH/ASE/2025 dated July 22, 2025, is being circulated among all school heads affiliated with the Haryana Board. It reiterates the criteria for identifying students who have either failed in one or more subjects (ER) or wish to improve their scores despite qualifying (EIOP). Mandatory compliance for heads of institutions The Board has strictly instructed all principals to ensure accurate classification and data entry of such students on the BSEH portal. The deadline for submitting details of ER and EIOP candidates is July 30, 2025. No entries will be accepted beyond this date under any circumstances, the Board warned. Categories defined As per the notification, students who appeared in the March 2025 Board Exams and failed in one or more subjects will be tagged as Essential Repeat (ER). These students will be eligible to reappear in the forthcoming supplementary exams. On the other hand, students who passed but are not satisfied with their marks may register under the EIOP category to improve their performance in specific subjects. Such candidates must adhere to the subject and attempt limits specified by the Board's exam policy. Implications and student preparedness With over 6 lakh students appearing in Class 10 and 12 Board examinations each year under BSEH, the ER and EIOP classifications impact a significant section of the student population. Schools have been urged to counsel affected students and ensure all data is correctly uploaded to avoid confusion or missed opportunities. Next steps Following the submission of entries, the Board is expected to release the supplementary exam schedule and instructions regarding admit cards, exam centers, and subject-wise guidelines. For further clarification, school authorities can refer to the official circular available on the BSEH website or contact the secondary branch directly. Ready to navigate global policies?
