Inter Milan & Atalanta Stalemate Over Lookman Likely To Hold Until Next Week

Yahoo07-08-2025
The stalemate between Inter Milan and Atalanta in talks for Ademola Lookman is likely to continue to hold until the start of next week.
This according to today's print edition of Milan-based newspaper Libero, via FCInter1908.
The explosive transfer saga with Atalanta and Ademola Lookman has come to define Inter's summer.
Inter have made two offers for Lookman. And Atalanta have flatly rejected both of them.
Lookman himself reacted furiously to his club's refusal to sell him to Inter.
The Nigerian international very publicly demanded a transfer to Atalanta last weekend. This after Atalanta had rejected a second offer from the Nerazzurri.
Then, Lookman took things a step further. The 27-year-old – who had already scrubbed all traces of Atalanta from his social media accounts – began no-showing training.

Right now, Inter and Atalanta are taking a fairly patient and cagey approach.
The Nerazzurri are waiting for a signal on the valuation for Lookman. Meanwhile, La Dea are waiting for another offer from Inter, or a bid from abroad.
It is only Lookman himself who is really losing patience.
However, Libero report, right now the stalemate is not going to end anytime soon.
The newspaper anticipate that there is unlikely to be a decisive development before this week.
On the contrary, Libero anticipate, the decisive next move may not come until the start of next week.

Report – Nicola Zalewski Deal Could Help Unlock Talks Between Inter Milan & Atalanta Over Nigeria Forward

Inter Milan could use the recent transfer of Nicola Zalewski to unlock talks with Atalanta over Ademola Lookman. According to Corriere di Bergamo via FCInter1908, this could be Inter's last chance to sign the Nigerian forward. Despite almost giving up on their pursuit of the 27-year-old, Inter may reignite negotiations before the transfer window closes. Indeed, Inter and Atalanta have just finalized Nicola Zalewski's switch to Bergamo for a reported fee of €17 million. That deal shows the strong working relationship between the two clubs and could pave the way for further negotiations. Manchester United linked with surprise move for €40m La Liga midfielder

Manchester United are in the market for a midfielder this summer, and could turn to La Liga to fill that need. The Red Devils have been closely linked with Brighton and Hove Albion man Carlos Baleba, but they could be priced out of a move. It seems Ruben Amorim is keen to have someone through the door that can glue things together in the midfield though, and Sevilla man Lucien Agoume has emerged as a surprise candidate for a move. Agoume, who arrived from Inter 18 months ago, initially on loan, started Matias Almeyda's first game on Sunday and scored a brilliant goal in their 3-2 defeat to Athletic Club. Manchester United renew interest in Agoume Image via AFP7 / Europa Press It was reported by Caught Offside that United had an interest in Agoume back in January, but the trail went rather quiet thereafter. However Orgullo Biri have reported that United are again looking at Agoume as an option for this summer. Sevilla paid €8m to make his loan move permanent last summer, and this year purchased another 40% of his rights, leaving Inter with just a 10% sell-on fee. That interest has been backed up by 365 scores in Saudi Arabia. Although they do add that no negotiations are underway. How much are Manchester United willing to spend? As reported earlier this year, Agoume has a €40m release clause, and Ficherio add that Sevilla Sporting Director Antonio Cordon has made it clear that this is the price for the 23-year-old. Meanwhile Manchester United are willing to make an offer of around €25-30m for the Frenchman. Under the radar at Sevilla Agoume has been relatively low-key at Sevilla, although in no small part due to the chaos around him in midfield at Sevilla. He has shown sequences of his ability though too. Strong on the ball and adept at stepping in to win it back, Agoume is also capable of moving the ball quickly on to more incisive teammates. He has all the raw attributes of a holding midfielder, but is yet to put it together on a consistent basis.

Report – Inter Milan To Record €3M In Capital Gains From Albania Star's Transfer To Bologna

Inter Milan flop Kristjan Asllani is reportedly close to joining Coppa Italia winners Bologna on a permanent basis. According to Calcio e Finanza via FCInterNews, the Albanian midfielder's exit will bolster Inter's coffers. Kristjan Asllani signed for Inter in 2022 on loan from Empoli before signing a permanent contract in 2023. However, he has never established himself as a permanent first-team fixture at San Siro. Instead, the 23-year-old has spent most of his career with the Nerazzurri as a substitute. Inter Milan Set to Record Capital Gain from Kristjan Asllani Move to Bologna PASADENA, CALIFORNIA – JUNE 17: Kristjan Asllani of FC Internazionale Milano in action during the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 group E match between CF Monterrey and FC Internazionale Milano at Rose Bowl Stadium on June 17, 2025 in Pasadena, California. (Photo by) Asllani's stock has gradually dropped due to his restricted playing time. Indeed, his price tag last summer was approximately €15.7 million, only to slump to €7.2 million this year. However, with Bologna agreeing to pay Inter around €10 million for his services, the Nerazzurri will record a capital gain. It's not much, though, considering it's only €2.8 million. It's not bad either, considering Inter will be able to get his €2.4 million gross salary off the books.
