In the WhatsApp message, which has now surfaced on social media and is catching everyone's attention, he allegedly threatened to attack stray dogs near his residence with a hockey stick. He went on to warn animal lovers to take the dogs home or deal with the consequences.
Tinnu's message sparked widespread outrage among animal rights activists, locals, and social media users, who heavily criticised his tone. Aanchal Chaddha, a resident of the same society, took action by filing a complaint at the Versova Police Station, prompting the police to intervene in the matter.
The message read, 'Have come back after a horrifying shoot to be greeted by terrifying dogs barking and not knowing who to bite next… Challenge taken. Have a hockey stick to face them… am warning all dog lovers hereon… take them home OR then face my wrath… my society is given advance notice'.
The message triggered massive backlash from social media users. Actor Shweta Gulati also commented on the post, writing, "Had such massive respect for this man, which is lost today. What a fool. Let's pray he gets beaten soon'. Karishma Tanna shared, 'To all those animal haters n supporting this veteran actor. It's heartbreaking and shameful to see people supporting violence against innocent dogs — and even worse, threatening to harm them. This isn't just inhuman, it's a complete failure of empathy. Animals can't speak, but we can — and we must. If you find joy in hurting or hating those who only know love and loyalty, it says more about your darkness than theirs'.
According to The Free Press Journal, Mumbai Police officer and senior animal rights activist Sudhir Kudalkar said that the police have asked the actor to issue an apology letter.
The Dabangg actor reacted to the hate coming his way while talking to The Free Press Journal. He said, 'This is absolutely what I meant because my daughter has broken her wrist and she's been treated since the last one month and it cost me ₹90,000 for her being operated twice now. Her pet dog was attacked by 3 stray dogs in our society and in trying to save her dog she fell and broke her wrist. I want to talk to these dog lovers. If they doubt these dogs so much they feed them, they look after them, then why not put a leash on them? Ask the convenience store near the society- his delivery man has been attacked twice and now they have stopped delivering because they don't want to be attacked by the dogs".
Tinnu added, 'I'm 80 years old and if any dog attacks me, I have every right to defend myself. That is what I meant. That is what these people should have understood anyway. Everyone's got diuretic fingers, you know, moving towards the mobiles, typing away messages, which is fine with me because I'm ignoring it completely because I know what I have written. This is not the first case where dogs have attacked. There's so many cases when these incidents have happened. It's not to attack dogs, it's just to defend myself and I have every right to'.

‘My earnings vanished because of ignorance': Chandigarh Rapido driver loses ₹4,000 after being conned by customer
A Reddit user claiming to be a Rapido driver from Chandigarh alleged that he lost nearly four days' earnings after a customer scammed him. The man posted that he thought he was helping a person whose wife was in the hospital, but he ended up losing ₹4,000 to a QR code scam. The man wrote on Reddit that he got a ride request from a passenger who said his wife was inside a hospital and needed to be dropped off at the railway station. 'He is paying 4200, and I can take my amount and repay it at her ID as it was not getting done from his account (sic),' the customer allegedly told the driver. 'Then he said he sent 4000 and I checked my account there was 4000 received but I didn't check the date of receipt. He said his wife is inside and I should send money on QR which he sent on WhatsApp and I did. As I saw 4009 received I wasn't worried but he said he is sending more money to transfer where I got doubt and disconnected,' the driver wrote. Initially, the driver was happy that he had escaped a scammer, but the joy was short-lived when he realised the receipt he saw was an older one. 'I was happy that I escaped until I saw the date of receipt of 4000. It was a friend who sent me 4000 yesterday. I was scammed, being understanding everything and being smart and educated. My earnings of 4-5 days vanished in a minute because of lil ignorance (sic),' the driver continued. The post on scam sparked a conversation. An individual wrote, 'The exact same happened with a Rapido driver, I know. The exact hospital and the exact story. He did go to the police station, and the number was found to be from Rajasthan. But nothing much happened.' Another person shared detailed steps for lodging a complaint at the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. The individual strongly suggested that the OP make an official complaint, adding, 'In my opinion, that's all you can do from your end.' A citizen can report a crime related to women or children. Under this section, there are two options: to identify yourself and report or to file the complaint anonymously. HC drops drug trafficking case against actor's son over unfair merging of charges
Mumbai: Calling it "preposterous", Bombay high court on Monday dismissed a drug trafficking case registered in 2021 against Dhruv Tahil, son of actor Dalip Tahil . The court held the law prohibits a merging of several minor aberrations over 18 months into one charge, a move that led to Tahil "being charged with an offence of a higher magnitude". Holding the Bandra Anti-Narcotic Cell's action as impermissible after analysing sections 218 and 219 of the erstwhile CrPC, the HC said: "Prosecution cannot be permitted to decipher and follow its own procedure for levying of charge of such a serious nature which is impermissible under the provisions of (law)." Pointing out that Tahil was not even arrested in possession of contraband, Justice Milind Jadhav said: "Prima facie when section 218 (of CrPC) is read, such charge by prosecution on the face of record appears to be preposterous… The procedural law does not permit the prosecution to assimilate more than three charges into a singular charge over a period of 18 months to be tried together and invoke a singular precipitative action. " The ANC, Bandra unit, in May 2021 arrested Tahil, then aged 30, after a co-accused, Muzammil Shaikh, held in Bandra (E) with 35 gm of mephedrone (MD), alleged that he had "in the past" supplied to him and various others. Police said it recovered WhatsApp messages between Jul 2019 and Jan 2021, which allegedly pertained to purchase of 1 gm or 2 gm of MD on various occasions, totalling 44 gm from Shaikh worth roughly Rs 25,000, to justify its invocation of serious charges of drug trafficking against Tahil in alleged conspiracy with Shaikh. HC noted that for small quantities, the punishment is less -- maximum 1 year in jail; but for intermediate quantities (less than commercial) invoked against him, it is 10 years. Justice Jadhav said "the prosecution was aware" each single act of alleged procurement was "less than small quantities" and Tahil would get the benefit of doubt, and hence it combined all the alleged transactions without following the tenets of the exception carved under the law. Tahil had challenged a 2023 rejection of his discharge plea by a special NDPS court. Justice Jadhav, after hearing Tahil's counsel Ayaz Khan, who alleged non-application of mind by the police and "mala fide intentions" in invoking the charges, and after hearing prosecutor H Dedhia, said, "From the material available on record and invocations of charge… no case is made out for the applicant to stand trial." HC also said "the alleged WhatsApp chats... in my opinion cannot translate into admissible evidence" during trial. HC said the state failed to comply with CrPC mandate and it led to Tahil "being charged with an offence of a higher magnitude". That too, under a special law like NDPS, which attracts higher punishment and fine and stringent conditions to get bail, HC noted adding, stringent laws require reciprocal duty on police to strictly comply with the law and its aspects that may have a negative impact on the accused.
