Elemis' £49 spa cleansing balm has thousands of 5-star reviews – I compared it to Boots £7.50 dupe everyone raves about
AS a dedicated skincare enthusiast, I'm always on the lookout for that perfect balance where effectiveness meets affordability. For what feels like an age, the beauty world has been abuzz with endless praise for the Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm, a product often dubbed a 'spa-worthy' luxury cleanser. 4 And, I won't deny it - it truly is a delight to use. The experience of the Elemis balm is truly an undeniable one. It begins as a rich, solid balm, melting seamlessly into a sumptuous oil as it warms on the skin, before finally evolving into a delicate, hydrating milk upon contact with water. And there's no denying that it dissolves every trace of makeup, daily grime and impurities. It certainly leaves my skin feeling soft, nourished, and pampered. The formula itself is a boasts exceptional ingredients such as Elderberry and Padina Pavonica, complemented by a meticulously crafted essential oil blend that elevates the cleansing process into a truly indulgent evening ritual. However, with a price tag of £49.00, from Boots for a modest 100g jar, it's undeniably a splurge - one that, for many, myself included, simply isn't sustainable for day-to-day use. This led me to a recent discovery that has completely shifted my perspective and won my heart: the Boots HABI Moisture Melt Cleansing Balm. Beauty fans have taken to internet to praise it for being a "dupe" to the Elemis product, and a "great alternative." At an astonishing £7.50 for a generous 100g pot, the HABI Moisture Melt Cleansing Balm offers everything I desire in a cleansing balm, without the hefty price tag. And like the Elemis cleansing balm, it's nothing short of a revelation. Even the design of the pot is something else. You can twist the lid for it to come out bit by bit, or use the provide spoon to scoop it out onto your hands. From the moment I scoop out a small amount, I'm greeted with a smooth, gel-like balm that feels wonderfully indulgent. As I dot it onto my dry face and gently massage it in, the texture transforms beautifully. I've come to realise that these extras, while lovely, aren't strictly necessary for achieving a great cleanse Yasmin Harisha Under the warmth of my fingertips, it melts into a silky, lightweight oil that glides effortlessly across the skin. This transformation is key - the oil works its magic, dissolving even the most stubborn waterproof mascara and lifting away the day's build-up of dirt and pollutants. Like the Elemis product it turns into a milky texture after water is applied to it. Once I felt I had immulsified it enough on my face, I grabbed a soaked flannel and wipe it off. After rinsing, my skin feels immaculately clean, soft, and comfortably refreshed, with no tightness, greasiness, or unpleasant residue. It delivers a thorough and satisfying cleanse every time - exactly what I look for in a cleansing balm. While the Elemis balm does offer a more aromatic experience and a slightly more intricate texture transition, I've come to realise that these extras, while lovely, aren't strictly necessary for achieving a great cleanse. Especially when the price difference is so stark. The HABI balm proves, without question, that you don't need to spend a small fortune to achieve beautifully clean, happy skin. It's straightforward, exceptionally effective, and wonderfully affordable, making it a true unsung hero of skincare - perfect for daily use. For me, the Boots HABI Moisture Melt Cleansing Balm is the undisputed winner. It excels in its primary purpose - cleansing - and does so at a price point that's accessible to all. Why spend nearly seven times more for a few extra essential oils when HABI delivers impeccable results for just £7.50? It's now my absolute go-to cleansing balm, and I genuinely cannot recommend it highly enough. If you're searching for a budget-friendly skincare gem that doesn't compromise on performance, HABI is the answer. Viral £24 pads that reduce acne scars are hailed by acne sufferers for 'instant results'
Shoppers have raved about these pads that help to even out skin texture from acne scarring, reduce dark spots and control shine for those who suffer with skin issues For those who suffer with bad skin, it can be tricky to find products that actually work to help improve skin texture and stop the breakouts. However shoppers think they have found the answer to acne scarring. Working to help even out texture, minimise pores and clear the skin, these handy pads work to cleanse skin beyond the barrier. For £24, the 70 dual-sided pads are pre-soaked and powered by a mix of ingredients including AHA fruit complex, salicylic and lactic acids, the formula minimises the appearance of pores and excess oils as well as working to control shine levels, leaving behind a mattified appearance. They are best applied on clean skin morning and night, and use the woven textured side over the facer and neck in a circular motion - and you don't need to rinse off afterwards. The pads exfoliate the skin and leave a smoother apperance almost straight away, and shoppers call them 'fantastic' and give 'instant results'. One user said: "I had been recommended these by a friend and was so excited to see them available on LF! They are fantastic for reducing pores and tightening skin, I was so surprised that I saw a difference over night." While a second gushed: "I already noticed big difference in my skin texture. Literally my face is looking like a doll. Product it's very easy to apply. Ingredients are amazing and gently for my sensitive skin. I would really truly recommend this to anyone fighting with their skin problems." A third chimed: "I love these but they are quite strong on my skin." Powered by salicylic acid, these ultra-soft pads work to dissolve pore blockages, reducing the look of breakouts while preventing new ones from forming. Elemis also launched the Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Pads (£46). Endometriosis symptoms you've never heard of as X Factor's Ella Henderson announces diagnosis
The singer opened up about her diagnosis, saying she thought it was all in her head at first Former X-Factor star, Ella Henderson, has opened up about her recent diagnosis, calling it "devastating" but "validating". Talking about her health online, she revealed she shares the same condition as Love Island's Molly Mae and Anton Du Beke's wife, Hannah. The 29-year-old revealed she has been diagnosed with endometriosis - a painful and debilitating condition which affects around 1 in 10 women across the UK. Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the womb grows outside of it. It is most commonly found in the pelvis, around the ovaries, fallopian tubes and lining of the pelvis. This misplaced tissue can cause inflammation, pain and potentially fertility issues. Despite some people knowing the main symptoms such as heavy and painful periods, stomach pain and bloating, there are also signs that people don't know and may brush off as something else. But what are they? Endometriosis symptoms you may not know about Common symptoms include: Pelvic pain Painful periods that interfere with everyday life Heavy menstrual bleeding Pain during or after sex Painful bowel movements/when having a poo Pain when urinating/peeing Difficulty getting pregnant – up to 70% of those with endometriosis will be able to get pregnant naturally Fatigue, with one or more of the above symptoms Symptoms you may not think are endometriosis but could be include: Leg pain Thigh pain Brain fog Bleeding from the bowel Dragging-like sensation around thigh area Rib pain Back pain Depression Diarrhea and/or constipation Hot flushes Shooting pain around bum Nausea Endometriosis 60-second test If you are not sure whether you have 'endo' you can take a 60 second test. You can do this through the Symptom Checker on the Endometriosis UK website. What are the different types of endometriosis? Endometriosis UK states there's 4 different types - and it's possible to have more than one type. The different types refer to the location, amount and depth of endometrial lesions. Peritoneal (superficial) endometriosis - is found mainly on the pelvic peritoneum – a thin film that lines the inner surface of the pelvis and surrounds the pelvic organs. Ovarian endometriosis (endometrioma) – is when endometriosis cysts are found in the ovaries. Deep endometriosis - is found in locations such as the bladder, bowel and recto-vaginal septum (tissue separating the vagina and the rectum). The lesions of endometriosis are at a deeper level than peritoneal (superficial) endometriosis. Extra-pelvic endometriosis - is when endometriosis is found outside of the pelvis, such as the thorax (chest) and caesarean scars.
