First picture of passenger killed at Jim Clark Rally with driver in Edinburgh hospital
A co-driver who was killed in a crash at the Jim Clark Rally in The Borders on Saturday has been named.
Dai Roberts, 39, was pronounced dead at the scene after a collision at the event at around 10.50am on May 24. Emergency services were called to Edrom Mains Road near Duns, reports the Daily Record.
The driver, James Williams, was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with serious injuries. The event was cancelled, along with the Reivers Rally which was scheduled for Sunday.

A statement from James William Rallying reads: "Update from the Team. It is with a heavy heart, we have to share this sad news this afternoon.
"The motorsport community is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our beloved Dai Roberts - who lost his life in an incident at the Jim Clark Rally on Saturday 24 May 2025.

"James has been taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with serious but not life-threatening injuries. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Roberts family at this difficult time. We will provide updates as and when we have them.
"Please respect the privacy of the families and team at this time."
Tributes have since poured in for Dai from the motor sporting world.
Writing online, Sambo Collis said: "Can't believe I'm typing this. The first time I met Dai was on the classic tracks some 20 years ago, he made us feel very welcome competing in South Wales, from then on I was happy to class him as a mate.
"A wicked sense of humour, a fantastic co driver & a lunatic behind the wheel! What rallying has put the poor Roberts family through certainly makes you question things."

The BBC reports that Dai survived a previous crash at the Ulster Rally in 2014 which killed 20-year-old driver Timothy Cathcart. Tragically, his brother Gareth died competing in a rally in Sicily in June 2012.
Nick Young said: "Rest in peace Dai, you're finally reunited with Gareth Roberts, Craig Breen, and Timmy, My thoughts are with your family and friends sir.
"It was a pleasure to know you. James Williams Rallying I wish you a speedy recovery."
Superintendent Vincent Fisher said: "Our thoughts are with the family of the man who has died and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."

Edinburgh firefighters rush to scene of incident on residential street
Firefighters rushed to the scene of an incident on a residential street in Edinburgh. The incident took place on Wednesday, June 4 around 12.53pm. The Scottish Fire Service received a call for help around 12.53pm. They dispatched three appliances and one special appliance to East Claremont Street. Blake Lively drops two claims against Justin Baldoni
The actress Blake Lively has attempted to withdraw two of the claims she made about director Justin Baldoni. Both have been engaged in a legal dispute since Lively sued Baldoni in December 2024 after they worked together on the film It Ends With Us, accusing him of sexual harassment and a smear campaign. Baldoni's legal team asked Lively to release her medical records, including therapy notes, as part of its defence against her claims she suffered "severe emotional distress and pain, humiliation, embarrassment", Variety said. Lively is trying to drop claims of intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligent infliction of emotional distress, the publication added. The court will decide if it will dismiss the claims or compel Lively to hand over information related to her mental health. Variety approached Baldoni's lawyers, who have declined comment. The BBC has also approached both parties for comment. Documents filed by Baldoni's legal team on Monday said: "Instead of complying with the Medical RFPs [Request for Proposal], Ms Lively's counsel recently advised us, in writing, that Ms Lively is withdrawing her [infliction of emotional distress] claims." They wrote that Lively had refused their "reasonable request that the withdrawal of such claims be with prejudice" opening up the possibility they could be refiled. Lively's lawyers told Variety Baldoni's filing was "a press stunt" and said her defence was "streamlining and focusing" her case. They added: "The Baldoni-Wayfarer strategy of filing retaliatory claims has exposed them to expansive new damages claims under California law, rendering certain of Ms Lively's original claims no longer necessary. "Ms Lively continues to allege emotional distress, as part of numerous other claims in her lawsuit, such as sexual harassment and retaliation, and massive additional compensatory damages on all of her claims." In January this year, Baldoni counter-sued Lively and her husband, the actor Ryan Reynolds, on claims of civil extortion, defamation and invasion of privacy. Lively and Baldoni have been locked in a dispute since It Ends With Us, which is an adaption of a best-selling Colleen Hoover novel, was released last summer. In the film Lively played the main character, Lily Bloom, a young woman who grew up witnessing domestic abuse, and winds up in the same position years later. The singer Taylor Swift had been summoned to a US court last month, after it was alleged she encouraged Baldoni to accept script rewrites by Lively. Representatives for Swift said at the time "she was not involved in any casting or creative decision" and "never saw an edit or made any notes on the film". The subpoena was dropped about two weeks later, after Swift's legal team objected that the legal order amounted to an "unwarranted fishing expedition", Variety said.
