Halle Berry's ex-husband David Justice lays bare details of their failed marriage… and what could've 'saved' it

Halle Berry 's ex-husband David Justice got candid about his failed marriage to the Oscar winner - and revealed what could have salvaged the relationship. The 58-year-old Monster's Ball actress previously tied the knot with the former MLB player in 1993, but the pair divorced just four years later. David opened up about the topic on Thursday's episode of the All The Smoke podcast and said while they initially were in a 'honeymoon state' after saying 'I do,' he began to question if she was 'the woman I want to have kids with.' The sports star explained that he only had 'one relationship before' marrying Halle. 'My knowledge and my understanding, my wisdom around relationships just wasn't vast.' David, 59, explained that he had been 'looking at my mom and I'm a Midwest guy. So, in my mind, I'm thinking a wife at that time should cook, clean, [be] traditional, you know? 'Then I'm thinking, "Okay, if we have kids, is this the woman I want to have kids with and build a family with?"' Daily Mail has reached out to Halle's reps for comment. David opened up about the topic on Thursday's episode of the All The Smoke podcast and said while they initially were in a 'honeymoon state' after saying 'I do,' he began to question if she was 'the woman I want to have kids with'; Halle seen in May in Cannes David added, 'At that time, as a young guy - she don't cook, don't clean, don't really seem like motherly, and then we start having issues.' He recalled the Hollywood actress asking him to marry her after only five months of dating. The baseball pro revealed that he had accepted the proposal 'because I couldn't say no' and admitted he wasn't sure 'if my heart was really into it.' 'But I didn't want to make her feel bad and say no, you know, or [if] I was just in the moment.' Months into their marriage, the former couple's differences came to light and their careers resulted in them spending a lot time away from each other. 'We spent a lot of time apart because she was doing movies in this country, that country,' David said, before sharing what he felt could have possibly kept their marriage together. 'And we honestly probably could have made it if I knew about therapy. If we knew about therapy, we probably could have made it.' Halle and David began dating in 1992 after she first saw him competing during an MTV celebrity baseball game. She later gave the sports player her phone number through a reporter that they both knew. The former couple tied the knot on New Year's Day in 1993 amid their whirlwind romance, but separated in 1996. The following year, their divorce was finalized. Halle later admitted to Parade in 2007 that she had suffered from depression following the split which led her to a suicide attempt. 'My sense of worth was so low,' the actress told the outlet, per Today. 'I had to reprogram myself to see the good in me. 'Because someone didn't love me didn't mean I was unlovable. I promised myself I would never be a coward again.' The Catwoman star later married Eric Benet in 2001 but the former couple divorced in 2005. She also tied the knot with Olivier Martinez in 2013 but their divorce was finalized in 2016. Halle is mom to daughter Nahla, 17, whom she welcomed with ex Gabriel Aubry and also shares son Maceo-Robert, 11, with Olivier. David has also since moved on following his separation from Halle and married Rebecca Villalobos in 2001. The couple share three children together. Earlier this year in February, Halle hit back at comments saying that she 'can't keep a man.' While appearing on The Drew Barrymore Show, the topic of dating was brought up and the actress said, 'I mean, it's hard out here. It's hard in these streets.' Halle continued, 'I've heard people say, "Something must be wrong with Halle Berry, she can't keep a man." Who's to say I want to keep a man? 'I don't want to keep the wrong man. Like, I'm not crazy, right? So when you find that you make a mistake - we all make mistakes.' She added, 'We have a right to say, "Oh God, this was a mistake. Let me start again." We have the right to do that.' The Never Let Go actress has since been romantically linked to Van Hunt - whom she was confirmed to be dating in 2020. A few months earlier in June, Van revealed that he has already popped the big question to the Hollywood star during an interview with Today. 'I put out the proposal, and it's still on hold as you can see. It's just out there floating. You know, maybe you can encourage her,' he said. But Halle - who had also joined in on the interview - expressed, 'I think we will get married just because, out of the people I've been married to, this is the person I should have married. 'And I feel like I should, we should get married, but it's not because we feel like we have to. I think it's something that we would like to do, just because we want that expression.'

Kate and Jon Gosselin's son Collin makes heartbreaking claim about his estranged siblings in emotional post

Kate and Jon Gosselin 's son Collin made a heartbreaking claim as he reached out to his estranged siblings through an emotional message on TikTok this week. The 21-year-old college student - who recently revealed a new career venture after after trashing his mom over his Marines discharge - alleged in the post shared on Thursday that he and his siblings were 'forced apart' and 'pitted against each other.' Collin included a throwback photo of himself with his brothers and siblings while adding the text, 'Born to be a team, us against the world...' A second slide showed the Jon & Kate Plus 8 alum in the driver's seat of a car and he wrote, 'Forced to do it alone, and wonder everyday what our lives could've looked like.' In the caption of the post, Collin also claimed, 'Forced apart, pitted against each other. All the fame and money in the world, but what about kids being kids? 'I will always love them more than anything. The tears I shed behind closed doors, thinking about the memories we could've shared. I love you guys...' Daily Mail has reached out to both Kate and Jon's reps for comment. In the caption of the post, Collin also claimed, 'Forced apart, pitted against each other. All the fame and money in the world, but what about kids being kids?' Collin has notably been estranged from his mother Kate as well as most of his siblings for many years. However, he is close to his father Jon - who got sole custody of Collin and his sister Hannah back in 2018. Jon and Kate were married from 1999 until their divorce in 2009. They share eight children: twins Cara and Madelyn born in 2000, and sextuplets Collin, Hannah, Joel, Aaden, Alexis and Leah. Social media users jumped to the comment section of his latest post to offer words of support to Collin. One penned, 'Please write YOUR STORY. We support you. We all saw what happened to you, you are loved by all.' Another shared, 'You were never the problem,' and a fan added, 'Your officially my adopted little brother if you ever need anything I am here for you.' On TikTok user questioned if Collin still has a close relationship with his sister Hannah, to which he replied, 'Yes I just her today! 'She was worried her car wouldn't pass inspection so I was looking at it for her. She's so funny and I love her sm. It makes my day whenever I see her, but we're both so busy with work, school etc.' Social media users jumped to the comment section of his latest post to offer words of support to Collin On TikTok user questioned if Collin still has a close relationship with his sister Hannah, to which he replied, 'Yes I just her today!' Another typed, 'if you choose to have kids one day and be involved, you'll understand your mother more.' Collin responded to the fan by claiming that he suffered both 'physical and emotional abuse' by his mother 'while having to be an animal in her circus on tv.' He added, 'Being locked up, isolated, zip tied. Being sent away because I didn't fit into an equation. 'Having one visit from her after being completely cut off with no contact at 12 years old, in which the whole visit was her telling me how I deserved the situation I was in because I "destroyed our family." Yeah I'm sorry, but I will never "understand" that. I will break the cycle that she couldn't.' Last year in September, Collin claimed that his mother Kate 'zip-tied his arms and legs and locked him in basement as a child' during an interview with The U.S. Sun. And back in 2023 on Vice TV's Dark Side of the 2000s, he talked about being sent away at the age of 12 to an institution, and alleged that his mother, Kate, did so to prevent him from discussing how he was being treated at home. He also claimed last year that he was 'discharged' from the Marines due to Kate sending him to the behavioral institution in 2016. Collin created his TikTok account late last month in July and in his first post - which showed photos of both him and father Jon on motorcycles - he gave an update about being discharged from the Marines. Collin responded to the fan by claiming that he suffered both 'physical and emotional abuse' by his mother 'while having to be an animal in her circus on tv' Collin created his TikTok account late last month in July and in his first post - which showed photos of both him and father Jon on motorcycles - he gave an update about being discharged from the Marines One fan asked, 'are you still gonna join the marines!' and he replied, 'Yes, currently working on getting that all straightened out!' Collin also confirmed that he is in the process of writing a book, which he called 'an exciting opportunity.' In regards to when the book will hit shelves, he said, 'I'm still working on the time frame for everything. I'll keep you updated.' Earlier this year in March, Collin also announced his new career venture and revealed he established a power-washing company in Pennsylvania, which he has 'officially filed as an LLC.' Collin first went public with his new business endeavor in November of last year, when he revealed he planned on running the day-to-day operations while simultaneously getting his college degree. The new career path came less than a year after he announced his discharge from the Marines, for which he blamed on his estranged mother Kate for sending him to a behavioral institution in 2016 when he was just 12. In an August 2024 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Collin maintained his mom sent him away to stop him from revealing her 'abuse' as a child. 'I was starting to tell people what was going on at home, she caught wind of that and had to put me somewhere where I wouldn't be able to get the secrets out,' he claimed. Collin also alleged that his mother took out 'her anger and frustration on him' and would separate him for his other siblings. The Pennsylvania native would also reveal that his time in the mental health institution was the reason why he got the discharge from the Marines near the end of training despite being 'close to graduating.' 'The paperwork was looked into, and they found out that I was, in fact, in an institution at one point in my life,' he said at the time, before adding that the United States Marine Corps did not 'need any deeper reason' to let him go. Collin recalled how the institution 'took a toll on me mentally, it was a really, really dark place.' In an interview with The U.S. Sun last year, Collin alleged Kate had 'zip-tied' and locked him in an unfinished basement with 'cameras in it, a tiny window in the corner and [that] was bolt-locked from the outside.' During Vice TV's Dark Side of the 2000s series his father Jon said he began to fight for sole custody of his son after he claimed a doctor told him that Collin did not have a diagnosis. It was during the legal battle that a family rift ensued, resulting in some of the former's couple's children siding with their mother while Collin and his sister Hannah went to live with their dad. While Kate didn't comment on her son's disturbing accusation, her lawyer Richard Puelo told Fox News in September of last year: 'I don't believe she intentionally harmed any of her children in any way, shape or form.' Back in 2016, Kate revealed she had sent her son to a residential program for kids with special needs - but did not reveal his exact behavioral issues, according to Page Six. During his conversation with The U.S. Sun, Collin revealed what his mother Kate could do to win back his love. 'So first and foremost, my relationship with my brothers and sisters is of top priority to me,' he expressed. 'And I think the only way that my mother and I would be able to reconnect and fix our relationship in the future is, if she would just come forward with the truth and all the things that she has kept under wraps.' Collin continued, 'And you know the many times that she's tried to soil my name and my father's name. I just would want her to come forward with the truth. '[But] Yes, that door would be open. 100 percent.' He later stated that, 'Despite my mother, and you know her, her constant effort to protect her reputation at the cost of mine. 'And the things that she has said about me and the things that she has done to me. I still feel in my heart I feel sorry for her...'

Ferris Bueller's Day Off star Mia Sara is unrecognizable after ditching Hollywood for poetry... see her now

Much has changed with Mia Sara since her star-making turn in Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986). The 58-year-old actress is best known for playing Sloane Peterson, the raven-haired girlfriend of Matthew Broderick's title character who accompanies him and his friend Cameron (Alan Ruck) as they skip school for an adventure in Chicago. Mia (born Mia Sarapochiello) had already made a splash playing Princess Lili in Ridley Scott's Legend, opposite star Tom Cruise, but the promise of her early film roles mostly failed to translate into juicier roles, and instead she spent much of the 1990s in largely ignored low-budget films. The film and television star had few roles throughout the 2000s and early 2010s, before she went as far as to step away from Hollywood with a hiatus that began in 2013 and lasted 11 years, during which she focused on other interests, like writing poetry. But Mia — who now looks unrecognizable — recently made her return to acting opposite Tom Hiddleston in Mike Flanagan's film The Life Of Chuck, which premiered last year at the Toronto International Film Festival and was released in theaters in June. Now, as she makes her triumphant return to Hollywood, takes a look at what Mia Sara looks like now. Mia looks shockingly different from how she did when she had her best-known roles in the mid-'80s through early '90s. The actress now sports a chic salt-and-pepper bob that's a significant change from the lustrous brunette tresses she once displayed. She made a splash in June when she walked the red carpet at the Life Of Chuck premiere in a ruffled black blouse and a figure-hugging medium-length skirt. Mia also appeared to have added some tattoos that were part of her look during her earliest successes. Born Mia Sarapochiello in Brooklyn, New York, she was just 16 when she landed her big break as a princess to Cruise's man from the woods on Legend. The movie was anchored by Hollywood heavyweights — not just Cruise, but also superstar director Ridley Scott — yet still turned out to be a box office flop. But just one year later, Mia became a star across America when she starred as Sloane Peterson, the girlfriend of mischievous high school senior, Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick). Ferris gets his famous day off by pretending to be sick, and manages to get Sloane to join him by feeding the school the fake story that her grandmother has died. Sara also starred in the 1994 film Timecop, but she had few high-profile projects through the rest of the '90s and the 2000s; pictured on the set of Timecop Upon its release, Ferris Bueller's Day Off became a thunderous box office success, earning $70 million with just a $5 million budget, and remains one of the best-loved high school comedies to ever made. Shortly after the movie came out, Mia showered praise on both Cruise and Matthew Broderick, whom she noted 'had much more experience' than she did. 'Tom was dedicated and I learned a lot of good work habits from him. And I respected Matt because I had seen him on Broadway. He was one of my favorites,' she told UPI. In the 1990s she featured in such movies as the Melanie Griffith drama A Stranger Among Us - directed by Sidney Lumet of 12 Angry Men fame - as well as the smash hit Jean-Claude Van Damme action movie Timecop. She continued acting on TV Programs like CSI: NY and movies like Dorothy & The Witches of Oz until 2013, when she took a hiatus that ultimately lasted longer than a decade. As early as 2010, she had remarked that she was 'mostly retired' as she had become a 'mother with a really noisy, difficult house to maintain!' The New York native also noted: 'I'm a poet, so for the last couple of years that's what I've been focusing on,' in an interview with Total Film. In an online biography on her writing-focused website, she says she 'used to be an actress, but recovered her senses and now she writes.' During her hiatus, she focused her energies on her writing, and her poems have appeared in multiple publications and literary journals. Mia now has a daughter named Amelia, 20, by her second and current husband Brian Henson, who is the son of The Muppets creator Jim Henson. She also has a 28-year-old son called Dashiell by her first husband Jason Connery, whose father was none other than James Bond legend Sean Connery. After many years away from the movies, she is back with The Life Of Chuck. Mia features amid a star-studded cast including Tom Hiddleston, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Hamill, Jacob Tremblay, Karen Gillan and Nick Offerman. The movie earned a warm response from the critics when it premiered in September at the Toronto International Film Festival, and will be out in theaters soon. The film is adapted from a story by Stephen King — who is a regular source of inspiration for writer–director Mike Flanagan — but the source material is one of King's few non-horror stories.
