Zhang Jizhong's ex-wife accuses him of giving his current wife over $40M in assets before their divorce
CHINA: According to VnExpress, Fan Xin Man, who was previously married to the famous filmmaker Zhang Jizhong, has come forward with some serious allegations. She's alleging that, while they were still married, Zhang Jizhong secretly transferred an incredible 300 million yuan (S$53 million) in assets to his current wife, Du Xinglin. Allegations The Yangcheng Evening News just reported that, on Jun 5, Fan apparently hopped onto social media and started making some pretty big claims. The really wild part? She alleged that Zhang had already been living with Du in America before their divorce was finalized in 2016. Fan shared that she'd actually known about the asset transfer for quite some time. She kept silent about it then because she didn't have enough solid proof to make her case. However, she finally decided to speak up after Zhang and his current wife, Du, took legal action against her, demanding 300,000 yuan. This ongoing dispute between them reportedly dates back to 2016. Just three months after his divorce from Fan, Zhang went on to marry Du. Fan had for almost 10 years desired no more contact with 'these two dreadful people.' See also Ahn Jae Hyun joins season 9 of 'New Journey to the West' To counter Fan's accusations, Zhang took to his social media, sharing a bunch of family photos. The photos featured Zhang alongside his wife and their four children—a picture of the life they've built together. Spreading damaging lies However, behind the smiles, it's clear Zhang has reached a breaking point. He recently broke his silence, revealing that ever since their divorce nine years ago, Fan has been spreading damaging lies, seemingly aimed at tearing down his current family. Zhang said he's simply been honouring the terms of their original divorce agreement, although he chose not to get into the specifics of their ongoing legal battle. In a candid statement, he shared that for nearly a decade, Fan has done everything in her power to cause harm to both him and his wife, Du Xinglin. Explaining why he's decided to speak up now, Zhang said, 'I kept quiet and endured it all, but there comes a time when you have to stand up for what's right.' Warmth of family He also revealed his past marital unhappiness, stating, 'In my first marriage, I was not happy. I only felt the warmth of family when I was holding Xinglin's hand.' The director went on to say that he would no longer tolerate Fan's behaviour and would stop at nothing to keep his family safe. Zhang, who's 74, tied the knot with Du Xinglin, 43, back in 2017. Their marriage has sparked considerable discussion due to their significant age difference, with some people likening their relationship to that of a grandfather and granddaughter. They've since welcomed three children together, who are now five, four, and one year old. Du also has a child from a previous relationship, adding to their blended family. Du took to Douyin (China's version of TikTok) to share a glimpse into their family life, revealing that she and Zhang genuinely share the load when it comes to childcare and household chores. Free time with family Zhang, who's known for his early morning workouts, clearly dedicates his free time to his family. He can often be found with his wife and kids, pitching in with everything from changing diapers and putting their youngest daughter to sleep, to driving the older children to school and helping them with their studies. See also Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth finalise divorce He's quite active online, too, frequently sharing little glimpses into his daily life and even offering up parenting tips in his social media videos. Zhang is practically a household name when it comes to bringing the beloved wuxia novels of the legendary Chinese author Jin Yong to the big screen. He's a household name for a reason: He's the mastermind behind some truly incredible film adaptations, especially those based on the beloved works of Jin Yong. We're talking about fan favourites like ' The Smiling, Proud Wanderer ,' ' The Legend of the Condor Heroes ,' ' Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils ,' ' The Return of the Condor Heroes ,' ' Heavenly Sword and Dragon Saber ,' and ' The Deer and the Cauldron .' What's more, Zhang isn't just behind the camera; he's also stepped in front of it, taking on supporting roles in some of these very adaptations he directed. It really shows his dedication to these classic stories.

Chinese actress Yang Mi accused of neglecting her 11 y/o daughter by ex-father-in-law
HONG KONG: It seems there's some family tension making headlines. According to a VnExpress report, veteran Hong Kong actor Lau Dan, who's the father of Hawick Lau and Yang Mi's ex-father-in-law, has recently accused Yang Mi of not taking care of their 11-year-old Noemie Lau, who lives with her father, Hawick Lau. Photo: Instagram/Yang Mi Dimsun Daily reported that Lau Dan alleged many times in interviews that Yang has been neglecting 11-year-old Noemie Lau. It's been reported that Lau Dan claimed Yang Mi never calls Noemie on holidays. He took it a step further, highlighting that Noemie didn't inquire about her mother on Mother's Day, using this as evidence to suggest a difficult bond between mother and daughter. Defended Yang When news broke about Lau Dan's accusations, Yang Mi didn't have to wait long for someone to come to her defence. Her close friend, Taiwanese actress Evonne Sie, quickly spoke up, as reported by Yahoo! Life Singapore. Evonne shared that whenever she and Yang Mi get together, Yang Mi often pulls out private photos of her daughter, and they chat openly about parenting. It sounds like a real bond of trust. See also Behind-the-scenes of Korean drama Fix You Sie shared that Yang visits Noemie Lau in Hong Kong several times, but she prefers to do it discreetly so no one can notice. Visits her daughter Yang Mi has spoken about her approach to parenting in past interviews, explaining that she makes an effort to visit her daughter, Noemie Lau, whenever her schedule allows. However, she prefers to keep these visits private and not disclose the exact timings. Her reason for this is to protect Noemie's privacy and ensure her daughter can have a normal, undisturbed childhood away from the public eye. Yang Mi, now 39, began acting as a child, but it was her role in the 2011 drama ' Palace '—a captivating time-travel romance—that launched her into superstardom and captured the hearts of audiences. She's seen as one of the new guard, stepping into the shoes of China's 'Four Dan Actresses'—a highly exclusive club of top-earning stars, including Xu Jinglei, Zhou Xun, Vicki Zhao, and Zhang Ziyi. On the personal front, Yang Mi tied the knot with Hawick Lau, who's 51, in 2014. Sadly, their marriage didn't last, and they went their separate ways in 2018. Afterwards, Hawick was given custody of their daughter. Several accolades Throughout her remarkable career, Yang Mi's talent hasn't gone unnoticed; she has garnered numerous awards and accolades. One notable achievement was winning the Best Actress award at the 50th WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival in 2017 for her compelling performance in the film 'Reset.' This shows her talent has been recognised on an international stage. She earned a nomination for Best Actress at the 24th China TV Golden Eagle Awards for her role in ' Wang Zhaojun ' back in 2007. Later, she continued to impress, picking up Huading Awards nominations for Best Actress for her performances in the dramas ' Ru Yi ' (2011) and ' Beauty World ' (2012). Hawick Lau Hoi-wai, born on Oct 13, 1974, is a familiar face in Hong Kong's entertainment scene, known for his talents in both acting and singing. He began his career in Hong Kong and was recognised as one of TVB's ' Five Fresh Tigers ,' a group of promising young actors. He is known for his performances in series such as ' A Kindred Spirit ' (1995), ' Virtues of Harmony ' (2001), and ' My Family ' (2005). Tasha Low's fans helping her get votes for Star Awards with tear-off posters
It seems Tasha Low's fans actually prefer to do things the old school way. The former member of South Korean girl group Skarf is in the running for Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes as well as for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as a holographic celebrity in Coded Love at the Star Awards on Jul 6. Recently, one of Low's fan accounts, @fortashaaloww, shared on Instagram that they had put up tear-off posters of the 31-year-old in various places around town to help her canvass for votes. One of the posters was pasted on a pillar of a HDB flat while another was seen on a lamp post next to a pedestrian crossing on Bain Street in Bras Basah. The posters included this message: "Have you voted for this cutie?" and a photo of the Emerald Hill star. There were also detachable strips with messages such as "Vote for Tasha" and cute emoticons at the bottom of the poster. The adorable initiative soon caught Low's attention, and she reposted a video and a picture of it on her Instagram story. When reached out to Low, she told us she was really surprised when she saw the story her fans posted. "It was so sweet and thoughtful – they're absolutely adorable!" she said. Low, however, did feel a little shy to see her face all over town. "I did feel a little paiseh (embarrassed) though, haha!," she laughed. Be ready to thank them on Jul 6, though.
