Sun Pharma share price: Pharmaceutical company Sun pharma shares were under pressure on Friday, May 23, 2025, with the scrip dropping up to 4.86 per cent lower to an intraday low of ₹1,636.30 per share.
By 9:24 AM, Sun Pharma shares continued to trade near day's low level, down 4.66 per cent lower at ₹1,639.90 per share. In comparison, BSE Sensex was trading 0.08 per cent higher at 81,015.07 level.
Why did Sun Pharma share price drop in trade?
Sun Pharma share price dropped after the company posted a mixed bag of results in the March quarter of financial year 2025 (Q4FY25).
The company's net profit dropped 19 per cent year-on-year (Y-o-Y) to ₹2,153.9 crore in the March quarter of financial year 2025 (Q4FY25), from ₹2,658.74 crore in the same quarter last year (Q4FY24).
Revenue from operations, however, increased 8.49 per cent Y-o-Y to ₹12,815.58 crore, up from ₹11,813.33 crore in Q4FY24.
Sun Pharma dividend
Sun Pharma's board has recommended a final dividend of ₹5.5 per equity share of face value ₹1 each, subject to shareholders' approval at the upcoming Annual General Meeting.
The company has fixed Monday, July 7, 2025 as Record Date for the purpose of determining the Members eligible to receive the final dividend.
"Our businesses delivered a robust performance for the year, driven by improving market share in India and growth in Global Specialty. The nearterm pipeline in Global Specialty is promising, with products such as Leqselvi and Unloxcyt—the latter through our recently announced Checkpoint acquisition—offering significant improvements in patient care. We look forward to Specialty becoming an increasingly important part of our business," said Dilip Shanghvi, chairman and managing director, Sun Pharma.

What drove Angel One shares higher today? Angel One shares were in demand after announcing the May 2025 business update. The company's client base surged 23.83 per cent year-on-year (Y-o-Y) to 31.95 million in May 2025, as against 23.83 million in the same month last year (May 2024). Its average client funding book zoomed 46.2 per cent Y-o-Y to ₹4,005 crore in May 2025, from ₹2,740 crore in May 2024. The company's unique MFs SIP registered grew 32.8 per cent annually to 6,28,280 in May 2025, from 4,73,220 in May 2024. Angel One's cash average daily turnover (ADTO) rose 4.2 per cent annually to ₹8,600 crore, from ₹8,300 crore a year ago. Its Commodity ADTO climbed 47.2 per cent Y-o-Y to ₹74,500 crore in May 2025, from ₹50,600 crore in May 2024. The Cash Turnover Market Share also expanded 91 basis points (bps) to 18 per cent in May 2025, from 17.1 per cent in May 2024. However, gross client acquisition fell 43.1 per cent to 0.50 million in May 2025, from 0.88 million in May 2024. Average daily orders dropped 23.4 per cent annually to 5.79 million in May 2025, from 7.56 million in May 2024. It, however, surged 3.2 per cent month-on-month (M-o-M) from 5.61 million. At the operating level, earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) plummeted 44 per cent annually to ₹264.3 crore in Q4FY25, from ₹475.5 crore in Q4FY24. Angel One's net broking revenue fell around 28 per cent to ₹490.6 crore as against ₹685.6 crore in the March 2024 quarter. Man Industries share prices were buzzing in trade after the company announced that it has secured an order worth approximately ₹1,150 crore from an international customer. In an exchange filing, Man Industries said, 'We are pleased to inform you that the company has received a new export order for approximately ₹1,150 crore. This order is expected to be delivered during the next 6 to 12 months.' 'This order significantly demonstrates the robust strength and market credibility in global markets and highlights Man Industries' growing reputation as a trusted supplier in the international pipeline industry,' Man Industries highlighted. According to the order details, the company will be responsible for supplying different types of pipes to a respected international customer. Notably, the work is expected to be completed within the next 6 to 12 months. Man Industries' total unexecuted order book now stands at approximately ₹3,500 crore, including today's order.
