Jordan Botelho looks to be healthy for Notre Dame's 2026 season
It was an unfortunate 2024 season for Notre Dame football edge rusher Jordan Botelho, who had extremely high hopes entering the year.
The Hawaiian looked to be heading towards a breakout season, only to suffer a season-ending injury against Purdue. Through the first three games of the year, Botelho had 12 tackles and a sack, but numerous pressures even if he wasn't quite getting the quarterback down.
The right patella tendon rupture wasn't how he envisioned his season going, but after announcing that he'll return to South Bend for another year, he's taking his rehab extremely seriously. In a video he shared to his social media account, it very much looks like Botelho will be fully healthy to begin the year.
He looks to be running well, lifting big weights and getting his agility back after missing the majority of this past season. Notre Dame needs some of its edge rushers to set up this coming fall, and Botelho could be one of them.

Maldonado says the unit has 'depth, experience and they will come in waves. They have a system that already works. Plug and play type of guys who know the scheme, and a coach who knows how to win ugly.' It's hard to see where she is wrong in her assessment, as the Irish have tons of talent defensively, which should give the offense plenty of time to catch up during the regular season. The Longhorns, like the Irish, are breaking in a new quarterback, and have a tough first game on the road against a top-10 opponent. Texas does have more currently scheduled top-25 games, and while Maldonado didn't mention this aspect, it surely played a part into her statement. While the Irish do have some questions entering the season, its great to see that Maldonado believes they'll have a better record at the end of the season that the current preseason top team in college football. Al Golden may no longer be directing the defense in South Bend, but the former Notre Dame coordinator has not forgotten about the Fighting Irish.
