Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Cons have a serious pinching problem
The magnets are strong enough to cause minor injuries, especially in children.
Nintendo was aware of this and included a warning in the Joy-Con 2 instruction manual.
Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Cons might not have Hall Effect sticks, but the magnetic attachments are generally considered a highlight of the new design. However, users are reporting that the magnets are so strong that they're pinching fingers, causing minor injuries.
Most of the reports are coming from Japan (via Automaton), but several users on Reddit have suffered the same fate. Essentially, holding the Joy-Cons with your finger overlapping the edge risks getting pinched between the Joy-Con and the console. The same is true when attaching the Joy Cons to the controller accessory, which also features magnets.
The Switch 2 Joy-Cons magnets are very strong and designed to be difficult to remove. Unlike the original Joy-Cons, they have no mechanical component and are held onto the console exclusively by magnets. A small lever on the back separates the Joy-Con for removal, but if your grip wraps around the Joy-Cons and onto the console itself, it's very easy to pinch your fingers. Watch the video above and feel the pain second-hand.
Nintendo is apparently aware of the issue and included a short warning in the Joy-Con instructions. It reads, 'Keep the area between the Joy-Con 2 and the console clear, careful not to get your fingers or other body parts pinched.'
Nintendo is aware of Joy-Con pinching, and includes a warning in the instructions.
It appears that this is simply an unintended side effect of the new Joy-Con design, so the only remedy is to take extra care when attaching Joy-Con 2 controllers. Those who have children should be extra careful.

Albemarle (ALB) Jumps 7% on Expected Lithium Price Jump
We recently published . Albemarle Corp. (NYSE:ALB) is one of the best-performing stocks on Monday. Albemarle Corp. (NYSE:ALB) extended its winning streak to a third straight day on Monday, jumping 7 percent to close at $80.76, as investors turned optimistic about a surge in lithium prices following a huge player's suspension of one of its mining operations in China. According to a report by Bloomberg, Chinese firm Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd. (CATL) suspended its mining operations at the Jianxiawo lithium mine in Jiangxi province amid an expired mining permit that it does not expect to get renewed soon. While CATL has begun negotiations with the Chinese government for the renewal, it was expecting a prolonged halt amid China's intensified regulatory oversight of mining companies to curb overcapacity. Based on data from the Australian government, CATL's suspended site alone can produce over 46,000 metric tons of lithium carbonate equivalent a year, or roughly 3 percent of the global supply forecast for 2025. Albemarle Corp. (NYSE:ALB) also rallied alongside its lithium counterparts. Photo by Kumpan Electric on Unsplash In other news, Albemarle Corp. (NYSE:ALB) announced that its chief operating officer, Netha Johnson, has stepped down from his post. No reason for the departure was divulged. He was replaced by Mark Mummert, effective immediately. While we acknowledge the potential of ALB as an investment, our conviction lies in the belief that some AI stocks hold greater promise for delivering higher returns and have limited downside risk. Accused Of ‘Battlefield 6' Cheating, VTuber RileyCS Banned, Then Unbanned On Twitch
While the vast majority of chatter on social media regarding the Battlefield 6 beta has been positive, there has been one very strange situation involving a specific player with a viral gameplay clip that has gotten her accused of cheating. That would be VTuber RileyCS, who posted some extremely fast, extremely accurate gunplay from the Battlefield 6 beta. The clip got millions of views, but so did all the comments and quote tweets saying that she was 'clearly cheating.' Twitch recently banned her, with people citing that cheating on stream is against its TOS, but then early today she was unbanned, making that duration incredibly short. You might as well start off by watching the clip, to see what you make of it: After RileyCS was accused of cheating and the clip blew up, she uploaded a handcam to try to prove that she was in fact, just really that good: The fact is, nothing can be proven either way at this point, and even a Twitch ban can come from mass reporting on the platform and was likely overturned on appeal. One side believes that she's really just that good, as evidenced by her other gameplay in other shooters. She's shown handcam and task manager, and it's one clip out of dozens of hours. Some say the problem is just dumb enemies, not her skill. FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder The other side says that this is just very obviously aimbot cheating rather than 'flicks,' and that the evidence she has provided is not enough to explicitly prove that isn't happening. One claim is that you can turn an aimbot on and off at any given time with tech like a footpedal. Battlefield 6 has taken significant steps to curb cheating, but as of yet, EA or DICE has not said anything about this, nor was she banned during the beta (another question is 'Why would you bother cheating during a beta, and why would you then upload that?'). Again, the Twitch ban at this point does not mean Twitch inspected her gameplay and internally deduced she was cheating. It simply hasn't been proven one way or the other yet. There is an additional dynamic here where some claim RileyCS is being targeted specifically with such fervor because she is trans, and you only need to look at the comments on the clips to see at least some of that rhetoric cropping up frequently. But the main debate is the gameplay clip. The 50 million view gameplay clip. We'll see what happens next in this saga, and I have reached out to her for comment.
