Swaraj India leader Yogendra Yadav
posted the certificate online, calling it proof of how broken the system is. He pointed out that while Aadhaar and ration cards are being questioned, these residence certificates are being accepted for SIR (Special Infiltration Report) purposes.
Yadav said in a post on X, "See it with your own eyes! On July 24 in Bihar, a dog got a residence certificate issued. This is the same certificate that is being accepted in Bihar under SIR, while Aadhaar and ration cards are being called fake. Check the photo and name yourself: 'Dog Babu', father's name 'Kutta Babu', mother's name 'Kutiya Babu', and address – Kaulichak Mohalla, Ward Number 15, Masaurhi Municipal Council. The certificate number is BRCCO/2025/15933581."
The District Administration of Patna responded quickly. They said an FIR has been filed against the applicant, computer operator, and officer involved. The Sub-Divisional Officer has also been told to submit a report within 24 hours, and departmental action is likely.
Live Events
While Yadav mocked the system, BJP's IT chief Amit Malviya hit back. He said that SIR is meant to catch such fake entries. 'Those who are getting exposed are now giving this issue a communal angle,' he claimed.
The internet had strong reactions. One user said, 'Anyone applying with fake names should be fined Rs 5,000 or more. This is not funny anymore.' Another added, 'This shows the poor quality of some government workers in Bihar.'

Jeffrey Epstein's former girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell, is transferred to a prison camp in Texas
Jeffrey Epstein 's former girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell , has been moved from a federal prison in Florida to a prison camp in Texas as her criminal case generates renewed public attention. The federal Bureau of Prisons said Friday that Maxwell had been transferred to Bryan, Texas, but did not explain the circumstances. Her attorney, David Oscar Markus, also confirmed the move but declined to discuss the reasons for it. She had been held at a low-security prison in Tallahassee, Florida, until her transfer to the prison camp in Texas, where other inmates include Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes and Jen Shah of "The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City." Minimum-security federal prison camps house inmates the Bureau of Prisons considers to be the lowest security risk. Some don't even have fences. The prison camps were originally designed with low security to make operations easier and to allow inmates tasked with performing work at the prison, like landscaping and maintenance, to avoid repeatedly checking in and out of a main prison facility. Live Events Prosecutors have said Epstein's sex crimes could not have been done without Maxwell, but her lawyers have maintained that she was wrongly prosecuted and denied a fair trial, and have floated the idea of a pardon from President Donald Trump. They have also asked the U.S. Supreme Court to take up her case. Trump said Friday night that no one has asked him about a clemency for Maxwell. "I'm allowed to do it but nobody's asked me to do it," he told Newsmax in an interview broadcast Friday night. "I know nothing about it. I don't know anything about the case, but I know I have the right to do it. I have the right to give pardons, I've given pardons to people before, but nobody's even asked me to do it." Maxwell's case has been the subject of heightened public focus since an outcry over the Justice Department's statement last month saying that it would not be releasing any additional documents from the Epstein sex trafficking investigation. The decision infuriated online sleuths, conspiracy theorists and elements of Trump's base who had hoped to see proof of a government cover-up. Since then, administration officials have tried to cast themselves as promoting transparency in the case, including by requesting from courts the unsealing of grand jury transcripts. Maxwell, meanwhile, was interviewed at a Florida courthouse over two days last week by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche and the House Oversight Committee had also said that it wanted to speak with Maxwell. Her lawyers said this week that they would be open to an interview but only if the panel were to ensure immunity from prosecution. In the Newsmax interview, Trump said he did not know when Blanche would disclose to the public what he and Maxwell discussed during the interviews. "I think he just wants to make sure that innocent people aren't hurt, but you'd have to speak to him about it," Trump said. In a letter Friday to Maxwell's lawyers, Rep. James Comer, the committee chair, wrote that the committee was willing to delay the deposition until after the resolution of Maxwell's appeal to the Supreme Court. That appeal is expected to be resolved in late September. Comer wrote that while Maxwell's testimony was "vital" to the Republican-led investigation into Epstein, the committee would not provide immunity or any questions in advance of her testimony, as was requested by her team.

₹353 crore transferred to 16.77 lakh PM-KISAN beneficiaries in Haryana
An amount of ₹353 crore was transferred directly to the accounts of 16.77 lakh farmers under the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme across the state, said Haryana agriculture minister Shyam Singh Rana. Addressing the gathering, Haryana agriculture minister Shyam Singh Rana shared detailed insights into the PM-KISAN scheme and other agriculture-related initiatives being implemented in the state. The announcement was made during a special event held at National Dairy Research In (NDRI) by Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Karnal, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. A direct telecast of the Prime Minister's programme was organised at the NDRI auditorium, where a large number of farmers and their families gathered from the region. Addressing the gathering, Haryana agriculture minister Shyam Singh Rana shared detailed insights into the PM-KISAN scheme and other agriculture-related initiatives being implemented in the state. He informed that 80,794 farmers from Karnal district alone received ₹18 crore under the 20th installment, directly into their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts through direct benefit transfer (DBT). 'The PM-KISAN scheme, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 24, 2019, aims to support farmers with timely access to fertilizers, seeds, and financial assistance,' Rana said. 'Eligible farmer families are provided ₹6,000 annually in three equal installments of ₹2,000 every four months,' he added. So far, Haryana has disbursed a total amount of ₹6,563.67 crore under the scheme across the previous 19 installments, he noted. The event in Karnal not only marked the distribution of PM-KISAN's 20th installment but also showcased the state government's continued commitment to transforming Haryana's agriculture sector through technology, sustainability, and direct support. Similar events were held at KVK Damla in Ambala, where energy minister Anil Vij was the chief guest as well as at KVK Damla in Yamunanagar, where minister of state Rajesh Nagar presided over the programme.

Amid clean energy push, India a green flag for climate investors
India is rapidly emerging as a key destination for climate capital , driven by rising demand for clean electric alternatives and a growing push from heavy industries towards zero-emission technologies . The country has attracted more than $2 billion in climate-focused capital over the past year alone, according to Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) data. Over the past 8–12 months, major climate investors such as TPG Rise Climate, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, LeapFrog Investments, Lowercarbon Capital, and Fullerton Fund Management have moved beyond cautious pilot projects to make strategic bets in India's energy and clean tech sectors. India's clean energy demand is increasingly being powered by essential services — including logistics, cooling, and distributed power — rather than discretionary consumption. Long-term scalability This shift provides investors with confidence in both long-term scalability and durable margins, say industry experts. 'There's been a marked uptick in growth and infrastructure capital doubling down on platform plays across circularity, e-mobility, OEMs, battery lifecycle management and energy storage,' said Nakul Zaveri, partner and co-head of Climate Investment Strategy at LeapFrog Investments, which plans to commit over $500 million to climate solutions . A key part of this strategy includes a $60 million investment by the European Investment Bank (EIB), with additional backing from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Temasek. Globally, climate finance surpassed $2 trillion in 2024, with a significant portion of private capital flowing into electric mobility , battery storage, and green infrastructure. Singapore-based Fullerton Fund Management recently made its first investment under the Fullerton Carbon Action Fund, acquiring an equity stake in Routematic, an AI-driven corporate transport company in India. 'Climate finance in India is poised for a surge, increasingly driven by market economics,' reckons Akhil Jain, investment lead at Fullerton Carbon Action Fund. 'Clean energy and key segments of electric transport are now at or beyond cost parity with conventional options.' This shift is reshaping investment patterns. Funds are increasingly focused on companies with strong revenue models and proprietary technology. 'There's surging demand for low-emission, resource-efficient technologies, especially in sectors like transport and energy,' said Shailesh Vickram Singh, founder of Climate Angels, which has backed 22 startups in the EV, clean air, and climate tech space over the past two to three years. Rather than backing isolated innovations, investors are now prioritising integrated operators who can build full value chains and deliver resilient, scalable infrastructure solutions. 'What was once seen as high-risk is now attracting a premium, especially for operators executing climate strategies at scale,' said Zaveri. This evolution also reflects a broader recognition of the importance of embedding adaptation into climate solutions. 'Capital is now flowing towards companies that reduce emissions and also build resilience — across sectors like waste, cooling, and mobility,' noted Vasudha Madhavan, founder & CEO of Ostara Advisors, an investment bank focused on electric mobility. Industry leaders see this as an inflection point. Over the next 2–3 years, climate finance in India is expected to deepen its focus on scalable technologies with the potential to transform high-emission sectors. 'This is a pivotal moment,' Madhavan added. 'Climate finance is shifting from small, fragmented bets to strategic, high-value investments that can accelerate the clean transition at scale.'
