15 cars were caught up in the accident and pulled out the race
The second race of the day saw a car fail to move as the lights went out.
As it sat stationary, the driver directly behind swerved out the way and accidentally wiped out a rival.
The car was sent flying off the track and onto the grass as debris scattered across the start line.
Several yellow flags were immediately waved but those at the back of the grid did not spot them.
A car went smashing into the back of the still stationary vehicle and it led to a horror pile-up.
The collision saw red flag was raised after just 17 seconds.
In total, 15 cars retired from the race.
Some immediately got out the driver's seat but others worryingly remained inside.
It has since been reported that all involved are OK.
The names of those involved have not been confirmed.
Chiefs initially decided to suspend the action before then allegedly abandoning the race due to the track's noise curfew.
There is no information as to when the race will be rescheduled for.

Sky Sports pundits Michael Bridge and Chris Murphy took aim at Wade for his actions in Blackpool. Bridge said: 'I got it clarified that there were no issues with Luke or the crowd or anything like that. 'He was just angry at himself, which is fine, but we would have liked to have heard from him.' 'Whether he does an interview or not is up to him, but not to be there when Luke is receiving the trophy, that is disrespectful. 'Just stand there for a minute and applaud, and then say, 'I don't want to talk.' 'There's a serious side with James of course. 'But I think he maybe needs a little bit of guidance and support with that. 'If he's not up to doing a press conference straight after a match, maybe he should be approaching the PDC and asking about facilitating his press conference when he returns for the next round in a better frame of mind.'

Shocking moment lorry barrels WRONG WAY down major motorway after crashing through central reservation

The massive vehicle careened through the barrier and terrifyingly pelted down the opposite side towards oncoming traffic. Dashcam footage from another driver who says he was "two seconds from a serious injury" captured the horror moment. Peter Stone was driving home from a family trip to St Agnes, Cornwall in his Porsche 911 at around 12.30pm on Friday when the lorry veered in his direction. The 55-year-old said: "It literally came out of nowhere. I think I had less than two seconds to move before getting flattened by the tipper driver. 'It was quite difficult, my car is quite low down and the black car [in front] sort of obscured my view." He said it was "remarkable" no one was hurt. The dad-of-two - who was travelling northbound in the fast lane - had just seconds to react to avoid what could have been a fatal crash. He managed to swerve into the middle lane with just seconds to spare, as the lorry driver careered the wrong way down the busy carriageway. Peter captured the scene of destruction on his front and rear dashcams, which were installed by the dealership when he purchased the vehicle back in December. Peter, who has an HGV licence himself, said: "You've seen videos of trucks crossing central reservations, but for it to happen straight in front of you is bizarre. "Until I reviewed the video I hadn't even realised I was in the fast lane. "In my recall I thought I must have been in the middle lane, there's no way I could have been in the third lane. "I've had two nights of uninterrupted sleep replaying it in my mind, trying to come to terms with basically probably being two seconds from serious injury or even worse." A National Highways spokesperson said no serious injuries had been reported following the crash.

'Luke and Eloise tried hard to make their relationship work but with his darts schedule, he is travelling non-stop and it has become increasingly difficult for them to spend quality time together."
