Prince of Wales jokes about family tensions on visit to Army Air Corps
William made light of living with relatives during a visit to the Suffolk home of the Army Air Corps (AAC) in his role as its Colonel-in-Chief.
He also pledged to raise the accommodation concerns of soldiers and handed out bacon and sausage rolls to their families.

Wearing camouflage military uniform and the AAC's famous blue beret, William brought up the topic of accommodation when he chatted to servicemen taking a break from an outdoor physical exercise session.
The future king lightened the mood when he joked, after asking one soldier if he spent enough time with his family, 'some of them might not want to see you that much – it's a mixed bag'.
The monarchy has experienced family disruption over the decades from separation and divorces to the much-publicised falling out between royal brothers William and the Duke of Sussex.
In a recent television interview Harry, who is also estranged from his father the King, said he 'would love a reconciliation' with the royal family.
William arrived at Wattisham Flying Station in Suffolk in a Wildcat Helicopter, a reconnaissance aircraft in the AAC's fleet.
The prince is a former RAF helicopter search and rescue pilot who later spent two years flying air ambulances, and he flew himself back home after the visit to the ACC's headquarters to meet military personnel and their families.

As the servicemen rested from their physical activities, William told them 'I'm going to have a chat about accommodation, make sure they look at that,' and went on to say 'If they listen to me that's another matter,' and said the issue would be landing on a desk.
When he asked another group about accommodation and only received smiles in response, the prince said: 'I'll take that away, a lot of smiles going on, that's all you need to say.'
William later served bacon rolls and sausage baps in the 'Archer's Breakfast', a weekly social event held by 664 Squadron for its personnel and their families and said about the food 'very good smelling, making my mouth water'.
A long line of servicemen and their families quickly formed, and the prince quipped 'nothing worse then the smell of bacon in the room and you cannot eat it'.
Outside the cafe, William chatted to servicemen and their families including the children of Warrant Officer Class 2 Matthew Foster, Ida, aged eight and five-year-old Archie.
Asked by William what they liked, Ida replied 'school' while her younger brother opted not for lessons but 'play'.
The AAC is the combat aviation arm of the British Army, and is made up of several regiments and units including 664 Squadron, and uses Wildcat battlefield reconnaissance and Apache Attack helicopters to seek out and destroy enemy forces.
When William first arrived he entered a camouflaged covered tent, a mock-up of a mobile planning headquarters used when on deployment, and got to grips with a laptop used to plan missions under the watchful eye of Lance Corporal Sulabh Ale.
He ended his visit by presenting a King's Commendation for Valuable Service and award soldiers their promotion from Corporal to Sergeant.

Prince William's 'last-minute text sparked ceasefire' in bitter feud with Harry
Despite the high-profile estrangement between Prince Harry and Prince William having no end in sight, one simple olive branch saw the brothers join together in a poignant and emotional reunion Prince William turbulent relationship with Prince Harry has been a major topic of discussion for years, with the royal brothers having long been stuck in a very public stalemate. But despite there seemingly being no possibility of reconciliation in the near future, one major family event saw the brothers put their differences aside and call a temporary truce almost three years ago. The pair have not seen each other during Harry's recent trips back to the UK, including for the court case over his security arrangements in the country, which he fought - and ultimately lost - to have police protection for him and his family when returning to his homeland. And although William and Harry's relationship continues to be at an all time low, which is largely linked to a series of bombshells detailed in Harry's memoir Spare, their feud came to an abrupt - albeit temporary - truce in 2022 after the death of their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. William reportedly reached out to Harry via text in the days after Her Late Majesty's passing, asking if Harry and Meghan wished to join him and Kate on the Long Walk in Windsor, to view floral tributes and meet grieving members of the public who had gathered to pay their respects to the monarch. Their display of solidarity was the first and only time that the two royal couples, who had once affectionately been referred to as the 'Fab Four', had been seen together in public since Harry and Meghan took a step back from their duties as senior royals and relocated to California. A well-placed source told the Daily Mail at the time: "It happened very quickly – remarkable really considering they didn't see each other in Scotland.' The publication went on to confirm that it was William's decision to extend the olive branch to his brother, and 'absolutely not' the idea of his father King Charles, as was previously reported. It claimed William felt that a united front was essential in the wake of the Queen's death, as the family reunited to share in their collective grief in front of the world. Both brothers had flown to Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire when they had been informed of the Queen's failing health, but both they tragically missed the chance to say their last goodbyes to their grandmother, arriving in Scotland after the Queen had died. In the months after Queen Elizabeth's passing, Prince Harry's bombshell memoir Spare was released, in which he claimed he found out about his grandmother's death via the media and not from his family. However, royal author Robert Hardman claims Harry's version of events isn't true, instead insisting that the royal family attempted to contact Harry to discuss the Queen's health. Hardman wrote: "In his memoir, Spare he suggests that no one had told him and that he was reduced to learning the news from the BBC website as the plane was landing. Not exactly.' "A member of the Palace staff says that the King had been urgently trying to make contact with his younger son. There were repeated attempts to get through to him but no calls were going through because Harry was airborne,' said the official." Despite the brothers not having seen each other in several years, it seems that the royal feud between the brothers is still very much alive. Earlier this week, William's joked about warring families that seemed to stem from his own personal history. As William visited Harry's old Army regiment - the Army Air Corps in Suffolk - on Wednesday, he joked with servicemen and women about not always wanting to see their families. During an important discussion as the Colonel-in-Chief about the welfare of service people in the regiment, he lightened the mood when he joked, after asking one soldier if he spent enough time with his family "some of them might not want to see you that much – it's a mixed bag".

Moment 9 WW2 heroes mark 81st anniversary of D-Day with emotional trip to Normandy

Yesterday, The Sun was given exclusive access to fly with a quartet of veterans — all of them aged 99 and over — on a sleek 50-seat Embraer jet from Warton Aerodrome, Lancs. Among them were Sergeant Richard Brock, now 101, and Able Seaman Ken Benbow, who turns 100 next week. They were both at Normandy on June 6, 1944. Ken was off the north French coast on HMS Crane, and saw men die in the water all around him. Richard, a driver with the East Lancashire Regiment, came ashore with 130 comrades — only 19 returned home. He was honoured to pay tribute to the fallen yesterday. The retired master butcher, from Lancaster, said: 'When I landed on the beach just below where the Normandy Memorial stands now I was a young man of 20 who thought every day might be my last. 'I cannot believe here I am at 101. The heroes are the ones who died, some of them in terrible circumstances. "We are just their spokesmen. Hopefully we will be able to come here one more time.' Iconic RAF Red Arrows jets in danger of being replaced by Russian planes loved by Putin in move slammed as 'unthinkable' The jet was provided by BAE Systems, which employs 12,000 people in Preston. Also on board the flight to Caen Airport were former Fleet Air Arm Petty Officer George Boothby, 100, and Marjorie Hanson, 102. She, like the late Queen Elizabeth II, served in the Auxiliary Territorial Service and helped supply the D-Day landings. The nine veterans were joined by Defence Secretary John Healey for an emotional ceremony at the memorial, inscribed with the names of more than 4,000 soldiers under UK command who were killed on D-Day. Mr Healey listened in awe to the veterans' stories. He later told The Sun at the Bayeux War Cemetery: 'The lesson to draw from the Second World War is never again can we contemplate the huge human and economic cost that it inflicted. "We see that in the darkest, strongest terms in these cemeteries. 'What it says to me is that with the allies that we forged in the Second World War, we must band together and we must be strong enough to deter any adversary, any aggression that might be directed at us in the future.' 5 Among the heroes were Sergeant Richard Brock, now 101, and Marjorie Hanson, 102, who served in the Auxiliary Territorial Service Credit: Arthur Edwards / The Sun
