Realme GT 7 to be among the first with the new Dimensity 9400e chipset

GSM Arena14-05-2025

Realme isn't beating around the bush – it is calling the upcoming GT 7 a 'flagship killer'. To be clear, this is about the global version, which will be revealed on May 27, and not the GT7 for China.
The Chinese model uses the new Dimensity 9400+, while the global Realme GT 7 will be powered by the new (announced today, in fact) Dimensity 9400e.
It should be noted that despite what the names of the chipsets suggest, the 9400e is closer to the 9300+ than the 9400+. It is fabbed on a 4nm node (TSMC N4P) and uses four Cortex-X4 (one at 3.4GHz and three at 2.85GHz) plus four Cortex-A720 (2.0GHz), plus an Immortalis-G720 MC12 GPU. For comparison, the Dimensity 9400+ is built on a newer 3nm node (N3E), uses a Cortex-X925 (3.73GHz) as its prime core and features the Immortalis-G925 MC12 GPU.
In terms of performance, Realme claims that the Dimensity 9400e will become one of the Top 3 chipsets for Android with an AnTuTu score of over 2.25 million (tested at room temperature). Note that one promo image claims 2.45 million points, but we think it's 2.25 million, judging by 9300+'s performance.
Realme GT 7 details: Dimensity 9400e • Stable 120fps in 20+ games • GT Boost
The GT Boost feature uses frame-by-frame prediction to adjust power distribution inside the chipset to improve efficiency while maintaining high frame rates. The Realme GT 7 can run the Top 20 most popular games at 120fps continuously, claims the company. This includes titles like Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Honor of Kings.
Previously, Realme confirmed that the GT 7 will have a 7,000mAh battery with 120W wired charging. 'IceSense' is graphene cover on the back panel, which is infused with fiberglass. This cover helps cool the chipset by 6°C, according to the teasers from a couple of days ago.
More Realme GT 7 details, including 6,000 nit display and 7,000mAh battery with 120W charging
By the way, we have a Realme GT 7 in for review (in IceSense Blue) and we will be putting it through its paces – but full details will have to wait until Realme draws the curtains and announces the GT 7.

Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro is coming with Xring O1 chipset, Geekbench reveals

Xiaomi's self-developed chipset, the Xring O1, made its debut inside the Xiaomi 15S Pro smartphone, which launched last month along with the Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra tablet. Now it looks like Xiaomi is developing another tablet, the Pad 7S Pro. This one will use the Xring O1 just like the Pad 7 Ultra, but given the branding should be smaller. The Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro, for reference, has an 11.2-inch screen vs. the Ultra's 14" display. The Pad 7S Pro has now been spotted in the Geekbench database, with the Xring O1 on board, 16GB of RAM, and Android 15. No other specs have been outed so far, but seeing how the Xiaomi 15S Pro is basically just a Xiaomi 15 Pro using the Xring O1, the Pad 7S Pro may be a Pad 7 Pro with the new chipset. If that's the case, then expect the tablet to feature an 11.2-inch 2136x3200 LCD screen with 144 Hz refresh rate and 800-nit peak brightness, a 50 MP rear camera with a 2 MP depth sensor next to it, a 32 MP front camera, and an 8,850 mAh battery. Nothing clarifies: Essential Space stays free, but premium features may arrive

Nothing's Essential Space feature will remain free for the time being, despite early rumors that suggested it might come with a hefty price tag. The feature, which first launched on the Nothing Phone (3a) series, allows users to capture screenshots with or without voice notes, utilizing a dedicated side button. The collected data is processed with AI to generate reminders, lists, and other relevant details. Initially, it seemed that users might have to pay for this functionality, but new developments have cleared up the confusion. Earlier this year, an APK leak hinted that Nothing was considering a $120 annual subscription for the Essential Space feature. However, the company quickly responded, stating that no final decisions had been made about pricing at that time. The speculation around the cost was met with criticism, as many felt that the proposed price was too steep for what was essentially a simple AI feature. In a recent interview with Carl Pei, Nothing clarified that the feature would remain free in its current form. Pei explained that the leaked APK contained old, irrelevant code, and that the company never intended to charge for the current version of Essential Space. Instead, Pei stated that the feature is still in its early stages, with about 90% of the functionality yet to be developed. Pei further suggested that while the feature is free now, Nothing may introduce a "premium tier" in the future, which could offer additional functionality that justifies a price. This aligns with trends seen across the smartphone industry, where most manufacturers are developing premium features or services to offer to users as part of a subscription model. One example of that is Google's recently launched AI Pro and AI Ultra tiers that are tied to its cloud storage and AI image and video generation apps. While Essential Space is still considered in a "preview mode," Nothing is confident that the future version will add more value. As of now, however, the feature remains accessible to Nothing Phone (3a) users and will also be a part of the upcoming Nothing Phone (3) release on July 1, although I do wonder how long that will last. The company's focus appears to be on refining the feature and making it more valuable for users before any potential pricing changes. For now, Essential Space will stay free, allowing users to take full advantage of its AI capabilities without any added cost. Secure your connection now at a bargain price!
