High Public Turnout at Museums and Archaeological Sites in Alexandria

Ali abo deshish Today, museums and archaeological sites across the city of Alexandria witnessed a massive influx of thousands of visitors, both Egyptian nationals and foreign residents. This surge in attendance comes in response to the decision by Mr. Sherif Fathy, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, to grant free public access in celebration of Alexandria Governorate's National Day. The Citadel of Qaitbay welcomed approximately 16,110 visitors, while the Graeco-Roman Museum received more than 4,200 visitors. The Royal Jewelry Museum attracted over 2,000 visitors, and the Kom El Shoqafa archaeological site saw more than 3,000 visitors. Dr. Mohamed Ismail Khaled, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, noted that crowds of visitors had lined up since the early morning hours outside the archaeological sites and museums, reflecting the deep awareness among Egyptians of all age groups about the importance of connecting more closely with their ancient heritage. The Secretary-General emphasized that the flow of visitors throughout the day was well-organized at all sites and museums across the governorate. Visitors were allowed entry in groups to ensure that the large crowds did not disrupt the experience or movement within the sites. Museum curators and antiquities inspectors continued to monitor the sites throughout official working hours to guarantee a smooth and accessible experience for all guests. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks

He noted that many countries have successfully leveraged cinema to benefit both their film and tourism sectors, adding that Egypt, with its unique natural and archaeological attractions, ranks among the world's top tourist destinations year-round. Screenwriter Mohamed El-Basousi, the festival's president, announced that the festival will also host a seminar titled "Tourism and Cinema: Integration or Conflict?" The seminar will feature a large group of Arab and international filmmakers, as well as tourism experts who are festival guests.
